Chapter 2 - Surrounded

"s**t, we almost caught her." cursed one of the soldiers chasing Olivia. "Then what do we do now?" "I don't know, don't expect any gift in return. We must think about our lives for failing to bring the corpse." "But she must have died down there. No one survived after falling into the abyss of death." "The thing is, our master wants the corpse alive or dead." The debate between fellow soldiers chasing Olivia started to sound because they failed to carry out the mission. The night began to cover the earth. The rain was getting heavier, with lightning flashing. It seems that nature is mourning the loss of Olivia, who doesn't know where she is. "My lord," the soldier called out to Jayden, staring at the valley below the mountain. "Miss Ford's body was not found. The abyss is her last grave." Jayden smiled lopsidedly; the aura of his cold face was unpredictable. There was a glimmer of sadness in his eyes. But a moment later, he laughed. "Hahaha, that's good. I don't have to try seducing Shellina to please her." "Announce her death, tell her parents if her daughter committed suicide because I broke off the engagement with her." "I understand, my lord." "Olivia Ford, goodbye. You should not blame me for this. It's already your destiny." "My lord." a maidservant faced Jayden. "What happens?" "Miss Woods is waiting for you in her room." "Bring the best wine to her room. I want to celebrate Olivia's death with my future wife." "Yes, my lord." "Shellina, we'll see who's stronger in bed tonight," Jayden smirked at the thought of Shellina's curve body. *** "You coming?" Shellina glanced mischievously at Jayden's arrival in her room as promised. "How could I forget my promise." Jayden returned the look in Shellina's naughty eyes, no less mischievous. "But I'm not ready yet," Shellina pretended to look at her beautiful face in the large mirror in the particular room provided by Jayden. "You're too perfect, Shellina. You're already so attractive to me that I'm excited tonight." Jayden approached Shellina and hugged her from behind. His lips immediately kissed Shellina's smooth neck. "Jayden, I'm not ready." "This afternoon, you invited me to your room for what? If not for sèx." Jayden said in a hoarse voice. "Don't torture me, Shellina." "I can't believe it if no other woman in this palace becomes your concubine." "I'm too busy with state affairs for a time to have fun." Shellina turned her body and looked into Jayden's eyes. "And the little girl? Why do you have time to take care of her? You even threw a big party for her." "Are you still jealous? Even now, she is dead." "Don't lie to me." "I'm not lying; my people reported that the girl fell into the abyss of death while running away." "What about the corpse?" "You must know what the abyss of death is like. If somebody falls into it, no one can survive unless that person has powers like me. And you know, that little girl is just a weak girl. How did she survive?" "She is not an ordinary girl." "What do you mean?" Jayden was taken aback by Shellina's words. "Um, forget it. Aren't you here to have fun with me?" Shellina began to feel Jayden's chest. His slender fingers caressed the strong, muscular chest that looked sexy. Shellina's eyes light up. Jayden is the most handsome man in Bloomingheart, anyone dreams of owning him. And now she wasn't dreaming because Jayden had confessed his love and asked her to make love tonight. 's**t,' Shellina cursed in her heart. She didn't want to seem aroused by Jayden's charm. Jayden had to bend his knees to her, beg for her love and fulfil her every wish. "Shellina," Jayden pulled Shellina's body so their chests collided. Jayden's face already looks very lustful. "Jayden, wait." Shellina pushed Jayden's body. "What else, Shellina?" Jayden is disappointed by Shellina's refusal. "I want to take a shower first." "I am coming along." "Come on," Shellina stepped back and winked. "Shellina Woods, don't tease me," said Jayden, who growled because his lust was provoked. "Come on, Jayden, join me in." *** At the bottom of the abyss of death, Olivia's body was floating on the river bank. Her body got stuck in the trees. The girl fainted from the shock in her heart when she fell from a height. The sun started rising clockwise at twelve o'clock, dazzling Olivia's eyes. The girl started blinking. Her consciousness slowly returned. "I'm still alive," Olivia muttered. "Ouch," Olivia hissed, her left leg aching. Looks like her ankle bone has broken. Olivia grimaced, trying to get up from the tree branch. Her body felt frail, her empty stomach making noises with hunger. With difficulty, Olivia crawled onto the ground. She wanted to find wood to support her broken leg. Without support, she could not walk to find a way to leave the abyss of death. Luckily, Olivia saw some sturdy logs not far from where she was. Olivia tried to take one stick. But now the problem is that the logs are still full of twigs, which will be disturbing. Olivia tried to find stones to clear the branches that were not needed. Luckily her parents taught her how to survive in the wild. While other children are busy playing, Olivia is invited by her father to the forest or hidden places full of challenges. Archery, sword fighting, and even making fire have been mastered since she was 10 years old. After age 15, her mother began to teach Olivia how to dress and preen like a girl of her generation. Because at 18, all the girls in Bloomingheart will start attending matchmaking parties. Remembering the party, Olivia felt hurt. Because of the party, she met Jayden, and her fate changed as terrible as it is today. She was banished from Bloomingheart and separated from her parents, who loved her so much. After successfully clearing the wood branches, Olivia wanted to find a plant that could be used to treat her leg. She knows several kinds of plants that can be used for treatment. But she was tired of walking; there was not a single plant that could be used as medicine. Hunger and the scorching sun made Olivia's body weaker. Olivia approached the river and filled her stomach with river water. The fresh taste of the water was enough to quench her thirst. Before dark, Olivia had to find shelter; she was afraid that wild animals could eat her anytime. Just a few steps, Olivia walked, and the howling dogs and people's shouts echoed. Olivia suddenly freaked out, sweat dripping down her forehead. Her eyes darkened after a group of unknown people surrounded Olivia. Their gazes sharpened as if they wanted to skin Olivia. Olivia could see their sharp canines. Their saliva dripped as if they wanted to eat Olivia alive. "Please, let me go. I beg you."
