Another school year, the last year of high school. Something about this year feels sooo memorable. Almost like something huge is going to happen.
That was the thought running through my mind before the bell rang for the next class.
"Mr. Walter's class here we come". I muttered while the girls giggled.
"Still not your best class I see". Celia said mockingly.
"Still not able to can it I see".
"Celia-1, Jamie-0. let's just head to class before we get terrible seats and she begins to complain". said Ava before she grab Celia and I by our arms and dragged us to class.
Mr Walter's class was boring as usual and I couldn't help but wait for the next class and then lunch break. The bell did ring and I was eternally grateful to God.
What a boring man. "why does he even teach?" I mumbled to myself while I walked to my next class.
"Hey Jamie! long time no see. Where did you disappear to during vacation?" A boy with sea blue eyes and dark brown hair asked.
"I went to visit my grandparents that's all. How was your vacation?"
"Nothing much rly, just helped my dad out in the workshop, worked out, played football and attended some parties here and there. Speaking of parties, there's one later tonight at Sarah's place". He replied.
"Nah, I'll pass Nate". He looked at me long and hard before suddenly bursting into laughter.
"Sh... she gave you a tough time in class, didn't she?" he said while I looked on unamused.
"What are you laughing about?, she's your girlfriend". I retorted.
Instantly his laughter died down. Now I was the one amused while he looked like a sour pickle.
"Uno reverse card". I said triumphantly.
"You know it was just a crush that I had only in 8th grade. Gosh! I really regret telling you and the boys on the team". I snickered when he said that, got what I needed from my locker and headed towards my next class which I actually had with him.
The class went on fine, but I was so excited for lunch. Not too long, the bell rang and I was the first to leave right after the teacher with Nate hot on my tail.
"Slow down bro, I know you are itching to see Ava".
I could feel his smirk on the back of my neck. So I just said "we both know Ava is a friend just the same way Celia and you are to me. You just want to get a reaction from me".
We walked onto the cafeteria to see it packed with people.
"How is it this full?, we were like practically the only ones in the hallway".
"Well now we know why we were the only ones in that hallway". I laughed while scanning the area for empty seats only for me to see Celia wave me over.
"Sup ladies?" Nate asked while giving a lame attempt at smouldering. Ava looked at him concerned, Celia laugh-scoffed while I laughed at their reactions.
"Can't you guys just give me the time of day?" He said.
"The day you become serious maybe we will". Said Ava.
"I expect this comment from Celia, but you Ava?" He asked mock offended.
"Just eat your lunch". Celia said.
"Yeah whatever Celia, I'll be out of your hair soon.... have this though".He said after shuffling through his bag.
The girls eyes widen. Their irises grew so big, they looked like primal animals.
"Cookies!" They both exclaimed before taking one each and moaning.
"Cringe!" I said as they moaned. I got ignored, but they thanked Nate for the cookies before we both turned and walked towards where the football team sat.
"I hope you got ours though".
"Don't worry, I made alot" was the reply. I nodded in satisfaction and sat down with my teammates. It was all going fine before She started walking towards our table.
