Chapter 6

Jamie

"she's coming". Nate said in a sing-song manner while doing a little wiggle dance with his body. I shoved him a bit before I turned around only to be met with red hair and silver eyes. Beautiful features, but an ugly heart. That was what kept on ringing in my head.

"Hi Jamie, I just wanted to invite you personally to the party I'm throwing". She flashed a million dollar smile and to anyone that sees, she's utterly harmless...WRONG!

"Umm...thanks but no thanks. I'm kinda busy at home so I won't be able to make it. Sorry!"

I saw her smile falter and thought I succeeded in escaping this situation, only to see the wheels in her head turning from her facial expression and she said "what is it you are busy with? I could help you with it and we'd finish it early, then you can come to the party".

All this while the boys were watching and snickering. I could see how hard they were trying to hold it in. That alone made me know that if I don't act fast, they'll sign me up for something I didn't bargain for and before any of them could regain themselves, I sighed and said "no need for that, it's a long list of things. I don't think we'd finish them before the party starts".

"It's ok, I'll be there to help out".

"No no no... you'll need time to prepare the house and yourself for the party, not to speak of you running around during and after the party to clean up. You'll be exhausted and won't have enough energy if you help me, but I do appreciate the offer". I explained hoping it was a good enough excuse to get her off my case.

"Ok!". I sighed in relief once I heard her say that and nodded at her.

"Bye...and uh enjoy your lunch". She said again before she turned on her heel and left. Another sigh left my lips before I prayed and dug into my food.

"Awnnnnnn!" the guys chorused and all I could do was keep on eating.

"Jamie I can help you with your stuff, Jamie I could take all yours worries away". Alex said as he imitated Sarah's high pitched voice and the rest of them laughed. I just rolled my eyes and ignored them until they got tired.

Nate shared the cookies amongst us before the bell rang and we all went to our different classes.

"You are really trying so hard to avoid her at all costs huh?" Nate voiced

I remained silent and kept on walking, but Nate wasn't having it so he grabbed my arm, turned me to face him and gave me a glare.

"Nate let go".

"I will, just be careful with her".

"I know, that's why I avoid her dude". I quipped while he rolled his eyes.

"She's so desperate for your attention that she'll do anything. She's like a psychopath. Be careful". I nodded and he continued.

"She's tried a while lot of stuff to get to you and make you hers. She even went as far as concocting a love story and told the whole school. It's just a matter of time before she goes some steps higher and does something crazy. Be careful".

I could see the genuine worry in his eyes. I could see how much he cared, but I don't think she'll be stupid and do something illegal.

"I hear ya. She's just looking for attention to boost her popularity and I'm just trying to get her off my back and have peace of mind".

"Ok bro, just be careful".

I nod.

"We better hurry up to class and be over with this school day so you can go finish that long list of chores you have". I scoffed while he shot me a wink.

I don't know how I got this person as a friend . I thought before a grin spread across my face and headed to class with him.
