I woke up before I opened my eyes. That was the first thing I understood. Warmth. Weight. Breath. A hand low against my waist, heavy and still in sleep. Sheets twisted around my legs. Morning light pressing pale gold through the sheer hotel curtains. And Anton. The memory of the night before came back too fast and all at once, not in pieces but in heat. The pool. Helena.
