Chapter 15

Chapter 15Skylar’s pov

My alarm went off, but I didn’t want to get up. After a night of making love to Tia I wanted to stay in bed with her all day. I couldn’t get enough of her. I rolled over to pull her to me, but noticed she wasn’t there.

“Good morning sleepy head. Here is some coffee now get up and get your hot butt to work.” Tia said.

I loved this playful side of her. I could tell she was excited about seeing Layla today. Derek said he was having one of his men follow them so that they would be safe. That made me feel a lot better.

“Someone is sure cheerful this morning.”

“Yes I am. I feel like I haven’t seen Layla in forever. We are going to have a nice lunch and do a little shopping. Then I will head home to Deacon and make my man a nice home cooked meal.”

“Now that is something to look forward to.”

I gave her a kiss then headed into the bathroom to shower. When I can out Tia was all dressed up. She looked so damn good. I wish I could get her back in the bed and just stay there all day.

“Okay I am calling in sick. You just look to good, so we are staying in.”

She playfully pushed me away laughing. I loved seeing her this happy and playful.

“Get your butt to work. I am not cancelling my day Mr.”

She was a little spitfire. If this was how she was going to be when she got to see Layla, then I will have to make sure she sees her more often.

“Okay I’m going. Love you beautiful have a good day today, and I will see you tonight.”

“Ok babe love you and be safe.”

She was always telling me that. I loved that she cared enough to worry about me. I don’t know how I got so lucky, but I’m sure glad that I did. Once I was in my truck, I called Derek to let him know I was on my way.

I then called my crew to see where they were at. After firing a few of my men I felt better about the crew I had left. They worked hard and respected me as their boss. They even loved the new online system, and website Tia had created. It made our jobs a lot easier.

They didn’t mind working this job for Derek for free. It was nice to so something good for someone. I wanted to also talk to Derek about the guy that would be following my girl today. Her safety was my main concern. Plus, I wanted to get my day done fast so I could come home to her.

I wanted to stop and pick her up some flowers and get Deacon a toy before heading home as well. I loved spoiling them. I missed her so much already and I just left her. I just couldn’t get over how beautiful she looked. It was as if talking about her sister and brother in law last night released this sadness that always seemed to loom over her. I was glad she opened up to me like she did. It showed she trusted me.
