Chapter 12

Chapter 12Tia’s pov

I just got off the phone with Layla, and she had nothing but good things to say about Skylar. Hearing her tell me she approved only made me like him more. Oh, hell who was I kidding? I was falling in love with him.

Seeing how he is with Deacon sealed the deal. Skylar is the type of guy I always dreamed of being with. I just never realized real men like him existed. He has even hired a part time nurse to help me with Deacon. That made me feel like everything was going to be okay. Most women would hate that he did that without even asking. To me it showed that he cared about Deacon’s health.

He was doing everything he could to make my life easier. Now I felt safe to leave my home for a little bit knowing that Deacon was taken care of. I was actually going to go to the next town over and have lunch with Layla tomorrow.

Skylar and Derek would be busy getting materials, so we were going to have a girl’s day. I can tell Layla is stressed and she needs this just as much as I do. Of course, it was Skylar’s idea. Like I said he’s amazing.

Since the nurse was still here, I went up to take a shower and dress up for Skylar. I wanted to look god for him. When I came back downstairs, I heard Deacon babbling. I thought the nurse was playing with him. I went weak in the knees when I saw it was Skylar with Deacon.

“Hey beautiful. Sorry I sent the nurse home, and I and big guy over here were just talking. I think he likes me.”

Deacon had a huge smile on his face. He really liked Skylar. He got so excited whenever he was around. Skylar was so good with him and I couldn’t help but smile watching them.

“I think he defiantly approves.”

I gave Skylar a kiss and was about to take Deacon from him when Deacon spoke his first word. It wasn’t what I thought it would be. I felt as if I couldn’t breathe. I wondered how Skylar would react. Deacon just called my very new boyfriend Dada. I literally couldn’t talk. When I heard what Skylar said I was in tears.

“I would be honored to one day be your dada lil man.”

I knew in that moment that Skylar was in it for the long haul. I wasn’t just falling in love I was in love with Skylar. I could not have found a better man. He surprises me every day by the things that he does. I can’t believe Deacon’s first word was dada. It made me feel a deep sense of sadness for all my sister and brother in law were missing out on.

Losing them at such a young age and so unexpectedly has taught me a lot though. I cherish every day now. I take the time out to enjoy the little things which I never did before. I don’t want to miss out on anything with Deacon. I am so glad I got to hear his first word and to see how Skylar reacted was priceless. It’s one of the many things I love about him.
