Julie
Julie is a 17-year-old girl who has not had it easy in life. One of her dreams is to be a writer and for the whole world to know her stories. This morning she wakes up late and leaves the house just in time to catch the bus. Seeing it coming from far away, she rushes to catch it, but her laziness leaves her stranded. It's normal; it's clear that not exercising on a regular takes its toll on you. Pissed off with herself, she starts walking to get to the mall. And the truth is not sinister for her to clear her head because there is a whole mess in her head: the wedding preparations where she had ended up involved thanks to her best friend Kate (the bride) and her twin sister, Cameron, not to mention that she will be one of the bridesmaids, something that stresses her a lot, plus the hunger she has because with the rush she has not had time to have breakfast.   As she turns the corner, deep in thought, she doesn't notice that a boy listening to distracting music on his skateboard is coming at her. The collision is inevitable, and Julie falls flat on her face upon impact. Ashamed and furious at the same time, she suddenly rejects the man's hand to help her up, and he takes a step backward.      - Watch where you're going a little bit more, asshole.      - Excuse me?      - And you pay attention, miss - he tells her to get closer to her, although, with those bit of pearls you are dropping out of your mouth, I don't think you are as much of a miss as you look.      With her adrenaline pumping and about to burst with rage, Julie tries to slap him, and I say tries because he holds her arm.      - You lack reflexes.      - And you need to be less of an asshole.    Julie stands up as she picks up a card from the floor that the man has dropped and leaves, putting it in her purse.    Although she refuses to admit it, she likes it a lot deep down.  Her cell phone rings, and she knows it's Kate, but she doesn't feel like listening to her reproach her for being late for their appointment.      Late for their appointment.      After the unfortunate incident, she finally arrives at the mall; with her feet about to explode, she decides to sit at the bar where Kate is impatiently waiting for her. And no wonder her best friend's wedding is coming up, and she can't find a good dress. According to her friend, she needs to be a little more feminine since all dresses look the same to her: pieces of fabric that, in this case, she is only going to wear on one occasion.      - A coke, please. - she asks before the attentive gaze of her friend    - Don't you want something more substantial? - asks her friend as she takes a sip of her strawberry daiquiri.      And the truth is, she does need it after the unfortunate encounter she had with the mysterious and impertinent skateboarder.      - No, a coke is fine - she replies to her friend - You look shaken, and you have a look on your face. Did something happen to you on the way? - Kate asks as the waiter comes over to serve Julie her coke.      When he finishes serving her, she thanks the waiter, who walks away smiling.      After receiving her order, she nervously plays with her fingers and tells Kate everything that has happened to her.       Something inside her stirs, feeling strange at that moment.      Kate laughs as she tells him.      - He may be an i***t, but that boy is driving you crazy.      - Don't talk nonsense, Kate. I'm going to like that arrogant guy.      - If you look miles away, woman, you remind me of when John and I first met.      He was working at that bar in the suburbs of Manhattan, and I walked in that day by mistake, looking for a place to make a quick call.       My cell phone had been stolen, and I needed someone to come and pick me up urgently because I didn't have any money on me.      That day changed everything for me, and look at us now as we are about to get married.      Ignoring her words, Julie suddenly jumps up and pulls Kate by the arm, and she urges her to leave.      - What's wrong? asks Kate, frightened      - The man I bumped into had just entered the room.      - For God's sake, don't let him see me, Julie insists      But it was too late; she could feel him staring at her as she continued to drink her coke.      If she kept it up, she'd be finished in no time.    The man looked at her mockingly as he approached the table.      - Are you busy? - he asks to Julie's astonishment.      - No - she answers, looking up        Plus, her face had turned red as a tomato with anger; we could say that she wanted the earth to swallow her up.      Julie doesn't know what to say, while Kate can't help but laugh at the situation's absurdity and introduces herself.      -Hi, my name is Kate; nice to meet you.      - Nice to meet you too; my name is Mike," she replies as she doesn't take her eyes off Julie.      Julie felt so embarrassed that she didn't know how to get out of this awkward situation; she liked this man.      Even so, she wasn't going to let him intimidate her so easily.      - What a coincidence, millions of people in the world, and I'm meeting the biggest i***t of them all again, Julie tells him while raising her voice enough for Mike to realize that she's annoyed while he watches her incredulously.      From what I can see, an i***t with more education than you. At least I don't go around insulting people for free.      - Do you have anything better to do than chase me, or are you harassing me? - asks Julie      - Harassing me? You wish you were pretty - replies Mike      - You're lucky that my friend is here; otherwise, I would have taught her how to treat a woman properly.      - Now the lady dares to threaten me too?      Shocked by her friend's rude station, Kate heists Julie and takes her down, ignoring her complaints.     - Cameron called me because he had found the perfect dresses for the wedding.       - I hadn't finished my coke yet, and I hadn't finished putting that i***t in his place, you know.      - You're lucky I had already paid the bill when Cameron called me; otherwise, you'd be able to put on a show in there and beat that man up.      Leaving me speechless, Kate leaves with Cameron to look at the dresses she has found for them.    The search began.      While Kate was putting a but to all the dresses she liked, Julie also had a pretext for the ones Kate selected for her.      - Try this one on, if nothing else," Kate said as she held out a red piece of fabric.      - You know I don't like red - Julie replied. Apart from that, I want something simple, which is too daring. I'm going to look like a prostitute.      The sales clerk laughed at Julie's sincerity and lack of tact in saying things.      - Simple? Too forward? For God's sake Julie it's my mother's wedding. You have to be elegant as it befits the bride's best friend and bridesmaid.      - All right, I'll indulge you in this      Julie took the dress and went into the fitting room with nothing more to say.      Although the color didn't convince her, she didn't feel like arguing with her friend, so she pretended to love how it looked and left the fitting room for her friend to give her the go-ahead.      - You look spectacular - Kate says to her while smiling happily.      I hope so, and she thinks as she smiles back at Kate, pretending to be satisfied.     With her hands full of hanging bags and her attitude on the floor, Julie finally arrives at her apartment with a fantastic view over Manhattan. Her friends have lingered in a lingerie store, looking for something sexy to match their dresses.      Julie had also bought black lingerie set to match her dress.      Looking in the mirror as she put it on over her clothes, she could see how it highlighted her pale skin.      - Do they allow impertinent brats to enter a church looking like that? - Julie's mouth fell open in surprise as she saw in the mirror who was supposedly behind her.      But it had all been a figment of her imagination that kept reminding her of the obnoxious guy she had had the misfortune of running into that afternoon.      And to top it all off, while searching for her cell phone in her purse, she came across the card she had picked up from the floor when she got up.      With the card in her hand, she began to read a name.      Mike Evans     What was happening to him? Why couldn't he get that name out of his head?      She went into her room and opened the bed. She was tempted to call the number that also appeared on the card, but what excuse would she justify making that call.      Better to leave it at that.      She crawled into bed and wished with all her might that the days until the wedding would pass quickly or she would end up going crazy. But, in reality, it was the uncertainty of not knowing what she felt for that stranger that had her very confused.  The following day Julie had arranged for Kate to pick her up to go together to the estate outside of New York where the wedding was to oversee the final details, so they had to get up early to get going.       They were elated, and it was a beautiful day!      It had been on the road for almost two hours now, and Julie's bottom was starting to lose feeling.      - How much further to go? - Julie asks as Kate glares at her.      - That's the fifth time in the last three minutes you've asked that.      - I'll take that as a no - Julie thinks.      Kate wanted a simple yet elegant wedding in a dreamy natural setting. She always wanted to get married on the outskirts of her favorite city, surrounded by nature, on an estate with a large lake. John shares her passion for nature, so they had a clear idea of the type of event they wanted to plan.      So they immediately started visiting farms around New York City, not knowing if they would find what they were looking for in the area.      They visited some beautiful farms, but they fell madly in love when they entered the Lake Paradise farm; it was just what the couple was looking for: an idyllic setting where they could celebrate the ceremony, the cocktail, the dance, the whole event from beginning to end in the same space, surrounded by nature, their people, and with incomparable views.      - Love - shouts John when he sees Kate as they are parking.       He is also overseeing the decorations at the estate.      The couple embraced as Julie could almost swear she saw little hearts popping out around them, something gooey. When they finally take off, John also greets Julie; he is a good man, gentlemanly, and the love for Kate can be seen in his eyes.      - But come with me this way please, there is still a lot to do. He shows them the stone path to follow towards the front door of the house, the garden is green and lovely, adorned by flowers and shrubs of different sizes, and of course, it also has an impressive fountain in the center that could not miss.      - It is undoubtedly a stunning property. - John smiles as he offers them a cup of tea.      - I hope one day to be able to buy you one just like it, my dear.  - says John as Kate looks at him, pleasantly surprised.      Oh," Julie replies in turn, sipping some tea.  After grabbing a bite to eat, Kate and Julie decide it's a good time to explore and learn a little more about their surroundings - it's not every day you get the chance to be in a dream place.      As they are strolling through the long row of fruit trees that frame the farm, the manager approaches them and asks them.      - Do you know how to ride a horse? - the two friends shake their heads.      - Then I can help you.      The man calmly and patiently helps them onto the horse.      When it's Julie's turn to get on the horse, the man takes the reins and slowly leads Julie on a tour of the surrounding area.      - It's beautiful," says Julie as her gaze wanders around them.      The reddish hue of the sunset is visible as it touches the mountains in the background.      - Have you been to a farm before? - asks Harry, the farm manager.      - Yes, once on a school trip - answers Julie remembering the time when Kate disappeared for fifteen minutes, ruining the trip for all her classmates when she had gone to the bathroom.      - Students come here from time to time, too - comments Harry.      Julie smiles as she continues the ride to Kate is waiting for her. When she gets off the horse, she has the strangest feeling that she is still on it. Shakily she walks to join her friend.      - Isn't he handsome? - Kate says to Julie as she questions her with her eyes.      - I didn't notice," Julie replies.      - But you couldn't take your eyes off him.      - He's got a nice ass," Julie admits as Kate laughs.      - If you say so," she replies with disinterest.      - I forgot! I have a surprise for you - shouts Kate excitedly.      They pause their steps in front of the lake while each one lies down on a deck chair. The view of the stars is impressive, something very different from the city where it's rare to see the sky so starry.      Julie looks at Kate blankly as she leans back in her lounger.      A half-hour later, having finished going over all the pending wedding preparations, Kate John, and Julie set off to get back to the city before it got dark.      They never imagined a wedding would have so many details to take care of to require. Flowers, music, menu, guest gifts kept them busy back and forth for endless hours.      They first stopped by Julie's apartment, where the couple dropped her off before continuing on their way home.      After dinner and a quick shower, Julie climbed into bed and fell asleep.     Kate's wedding was only two weeks away, and the organization of the bachelorette party demanded specific responsibilities. Among them, choosing the essential entertainment for the evening - a stripper!      They gathered at Kate's twin sister Cameron's house. A total of six girls had been invited.      The debate began over the venue. Julie proposed renting something on the coast. However, they immediately rejected her proposal since Kate had set some conditions: not to go anywhere out of town.      One of the girls offered her apartment as she lived alone.       They all accepted.      Already defined the place.      Then another of Kate's conditions came up. No strippers could go.      Julie was not going to give in.      She had never particularly liked strippers.      That kind of show seemed a bit overdone, and that's something she didn't like, but in her opinion, a bachelorette party needs a little spice; otherwise, what are seven women alone in an apartment supposed to do?      Since they all seemed unwilling to break with the conditions that Kate had set, Julie put her foot down and asked them: "Is Kate's bachelorette party being organized by her or by us? I understand that she doesn't want to go away because she probably has things to do the next day, but we have to do something fun if we stay here. Otherwise, it's going to be a bore". They didn't care much about what Julie told them, so they became pretty discouraged.      In the end, they agreed to meet at the apartment, make up a couple of games, dress up Kate, go for a walk, and dance. No big deal.      But Julie wasn't satisfied. For the next few days, the idea of showing up at the apartment by surprise with a stripper was going around in her head.      In the worst-case scenario, she would run away.      At best, she knew that they would probably all have a good time once she was inside the apartment.      A couple of months ago, Julie had a co-worker who had organized a bachelorette party and had told her that they had brought a hot stripper and a lot of fun. As she had said before, she didn't like them very much, but she also knew that sometimes they spice up this kind of event.      Her companion got him the phone and called him. His name was, or he called himself, Captain Nick. After a couple of questions, arranging the price, and what kind of show he was looking for, she agreed that she would call him to confirm the week before the farewell.      Julie regretted not having convinced the girls to hold the event at an estate outside the city.      The week before we were to say goodbye, Julie called him, and we arranged to meet downtown. They met at a coffee shop. When Julie arrived, she immediately recognized him. He was pretty tall and broad. Although Nick was wearing a windbreaker, the size of his back showed. The start thing he told her was that no one knew that day that she had called him. He explained that the girl who was getting married didn't want anything to do with strippers and that the rest of the girls, for the most part, were quite timid. So if they found out that she had taken him, she would probably get in trouble. Nick understood and assured her of absolute discretion. They agreed that he would say he was the pizza delivery man. She arranged to meet him at 9:30 p.m. on time. He paid him, and they agreed to meet on Saturday.      Now his part was to make sure that the pizzas arrived after Nick; otherwise, his plan would fall through.
