Chapter 11

“What now? What about?” Kiara interrupted my sleep. “Why do you look so lazy? You are not like that. What is wrong?” she pouted. I feel lazy right now, and I don't know why. Maybe because I got to converse with that man, he is sad, and his sadness is contagious. I don't know. I don't understand. His presence is nostalgic, weird, and ironic. Damn! “Hey!” “Alli!” “Alliana!!” “Yeah,” I answered subconsciously. “I've been calling you, and you seem preoccupied. What is wrong? Do you have a problem? I can help you with that,” he said “Nah, nothing,” I answer. “You know you can trust me, right? You can tell me everything so that you can have peace of mind. I am worried about you, seriously,” Kiara said. I feel guilty. She is my best friend, and I don't know how I feel. I am sad, and I don't know why. “I met this weird guy. Uhm, he plans to take his own life, and uhm, he is sad then, after we conversed, I felt sad kind of weird, right?” I said. “Yeah, it is very weird. But you know I read this book about soul mate,” she said, and I frowned. “Stop talking s**t, Kiara. I am talking about the guy I met lately, not a soul mate,” I said in disgust. “Come on, Alli, is he handsome? Rich? Have a baritone voice? Is he tall? Talented? Charming? Intellectual?” “I don't know! I don't know. Stop asking if I just met him, okay? He is wearing a bucket hat and a face mask,” I reasoned out. “OH, then describe him.” “Why do I have to describe him to you?” I asked and frowned at her. “Duh! Just describe him.” “Well, he is tall, very, very tall. He has a baritone voice, and maybe he is kind of intellectual by the words he speaks,” I said. “Well, it kind of passes my standards. So I am going to tell you about the book I read about soul mates.” “Why do I need to hear it?” I asked in disgust. “Just hear me out, okay?” Kiara said with annoyance. “When you are sad with no reason and happy with no reason or crying without reason your soul mate feels that emotion. It is his emotion. And because you are soul mates, you felt what he felt. Nostalgia, so basically, both of you is interconnected to each other. You have traveled to time, and you only have soul mates. He is your partner in your past life, past life, and past life. But not all soul mates became husband and wife; some didn't find their soul mates and ended up with the wrong one. That is why some marriages don't work out. So, you and your soul mate feel the same exaggerated emotion.” I was just left dumbfounded and speechless. “What the heck Kir. Do you believe in soul mates and reincarnation? That is blasphemous,” I frowned. “Soul mates are true, just like what you are feeling right now. I am not saying that the guy you met is your soul mate, but I tell you that your unexplainable emotion is because your soul mate is undergoing that same emotion and because you are interconnected. You felt it.” “Damn!” I said, and eventually, laughter came out of my mouth. “I am serious, Alli. Reincarnation is true too and that deja vus is those memories that you don't own. We have our own past lives, whether we are princesses, slaves, or soldiers in our past life that still matter in our present life. That is why Alli if you remember your past life, seek it in the present. Find your soul mate and do not end lovesick.” “Whatever, you're talking bullshit. Maybe I am just annoyed, worried, or anxious because of something I forgot.” I reasoned out. “That is reincarnation itself, and you forgot what you are anxious about because it happens in your past life on the same day at the same time. Whoa, it's fascinating, isn't it?” “You know, Kir, stop reading fantasy and start reading Sci-Fi; it is more realistic.” Psh. It's a pity. I bet he's handsome but sad and depressed. A man should be tough! “You're in effect amicable today, huh, 'little sister? it is 10 am no class because of a faculty meeting, and I just arrived in my boarding house seeing my beloved brother Kiegan sitting like a king on my sofa “Greetings!” “Hello there,” I replied softly. It grinned. “Who is she?” Kiara is with me right now. “Who cares who she is?” I replied sarcastically. “You brat! Hello there, I'm Kiegan,” his introduction to Kiara. The latter just smiled shyly. “I'm Alliana's closest companion. You must be the brother she is whining about?” My brows immediately furrowed. What the heck Kiara?! “Who cares anyway and who is the brother I am whining about?” I replied, and then turned away from them. Psh! It looks like I don't have to wonder why the reaction is like that of Kiegan when he knows I am whining about him. “Let us talk later, Alliana. Uhm, I cook pyaaz kachori there. Eat up.” “Your brother knows how to cook?” Kiara was amazed. “Of course he does. He wants to finish culinary but doesn't have a chance. But he is learning a lot of recipes by just watching YouTube. He is a chef in a famous restaurant in our province. Even though he does not graduate in culinary even though his educational attainment is only elementary, he beat the professionals. Amazing, isn’t it?” “Is that your compensation to me after hearing that you are whining about me, huh, Alliana?” Kiegan said. “Of course not, Come on, bro, I am just a proud little sister.” “So what is pyaaz kachori?” Kiara asked “I don’t know; asked him yourself,” I answered.
