We all followed Gaela through the woods. The strings and colors of the ambient magic was beautiful. It reminded me of when I was alive. Being a witch was something I missed. Though I still had magic, it wasn’t the same. It wasn’t the magic I was born with or the magic I spent most of my life cultivating. I didn’t regret becoming a vampire, though. When Sun found me, I was dying. There was no cure for my illness. I didn’t want to die. She offered me a way to keep living... in a sense. I accepted. I wasn’t ready to give up the world. Our journey through the woods was beautiful and peaceful. The trees loomed above us, their branches intertwined in a natural canopy that kept out most of the sunlight.
