Once the sun set, danger in the fae realm increased. Many of the creatures there were nocturnal. We stopped to feed the living and plan our next moves. Gaela and I stood off to the side of where the others were eating. She was watching the area around us. It wasn’t heavily wooded, making it easier to spot movement. I watched, too. “When is the last time you fed?” She asked. “Yesterday. I took a full feeding because I intended to spend several days in my study and didn’t want to be disturbed for smaller feedings. I am able to go nearly four months between feedings.” I replied. “And you?” “I haven’t had a full feeding since I changed. But I have been feeding regularly.
