I made my way to the center of the meadow. It bowed slightly toward the spring that was surrounded by large rocks. I started realizing that the curve of the land was what made the birds’ song mingle with the trees so well. It gave me an idea. Once Mouse and I reached the spring, I set him down on a rock and took off the pack I was wearing. I dug around inside of it until I found the bag where we’d put the fruit. When I opened it, I found only the container with the fruit from the magic bush inside. Pulling it out, I split the fruit in half to see it filled with fleshy seeds. The seeds were similar to a pomegranate, but, instead of having red flesh around the tiny stones, they had flesh that was the same greenish blue as the plant’s leaves.
