Do you like to imagine yourself in the past. Travel back in time. No phones, technology just at the far corner not yet upon us. Story of bravery. Let me take you back to the past when culture was concentrated.

The rays of modernity had just started to dawn upon us. Just a thought, have you ever had an animal, a pet or any other, that had a mind like a human. Is all in there. Explores how some animals can form a connection with humans. Whether it's a dog, cat or whatever you fancy.

Story plays with conflict to do what is required or to refuse. Do you have the strength to do what is required of you even though you don't like it? That is explored in the story. Doesn't leave you high and dry it has humor in there to keep you entertained.

The story is like a well prepared dish. A dash of fear, a ray of hope, a bowl of dilemma and sentiments of mothers love, and survival. After reading it ask yourself, what would you do in that story. Would you do it better than the character? What do you think? Does the character deserve a hats off?

Going back in time when the country was still young. This great nation had barely even reached teenage years yet. Came from a time where men could marry more than three wives. The economy could well support such undertakings. My old man was among those men and with his own wisdom had placed each of his wives at different locations all convenient to him. We had two cows some goats and enormous pigs which likely devour you if were not careful. To date, I may not understand why he did it God rest his soul as he is sleeping with the ancestors. My mother had gone for casual labor far across the eye could see to look for a shilling or two. Ensuring we, her children, do not hear the rumblings of our bellies due to hunger. That’s when he came, our old man to take our cow, Nguno.  Nguno was not like any other animal or cow. When I say this you might think I’m Hindu holding a cow in high reverence as Supreme Being. You might also be tempted to have another amusing train of thought that I’m a vegetarian. All I can say is that you are very mistaken. I do love meat. That reminds me, say it with me, Nyama!! Nyama!! Nyama!! ya kuku nyama!! ya ng’ombe nyama!! ya mbuzi nyama!! samaki nyama!! ya mtu si nyama!! I cannot be a cannibal like some humans who live deep inside the heart of the sss.
