Eva and I walk to the bonfire, and she is talking non-stop about meeting Sabrina today. She thinks Sabrina is a nice girl and that she will be able to help some of the people in the pack. Eva says that she doesn't want her healing me, because it would make her uncomfortable for Sabrina since we are in a relationship.

I was afraid that this was going to happen. I knew she was starting to get attached, but this is getting out of hand. After the bonfire, I'm going to talk to her about this. My mate will be the only Luna of this pack, and what is going on with Eva and me is nothing but a little fun. 

Once we're there, we're hanging out and talking to several people when Zack walks over to us. I can see by the look in his eyes that he hates seeing Eva hanging all over me. I know that I should be more responsible and not send mixed signals to not only Eva but the pack.

"Sabrina's here. We should get started." He says and then walks off. 

I turn to the pack, ready to make my speech. I try and pry off Eva with little luck. I give up and get started with the speech.

"Welcome everyone. We're here to celebrate and welcome our new healer, Sabrina." I look into the crowd.

I'm searching for her when I lock eyes with someone I've never seen. My wolf goes crazy, and I know without a doubt that she is my mate. The new healer who caught me having s*x with Eva is my mate!

Her face grows pale, and tears flood her eyes. She starts backing away and turns to leave. I panic, knowing that she's hurt from what she saw. I quickly link Eric telling him to take over. I rip my hand from Eva.

"Oliver! Oliver, where are you going?" Eva yells. I don't bother answering, I follow Sabrina. 

"Oliver, what is going on?" Eric yells through the link.

"Sabrina is my mate!"

I run as fast as I can, and I can see her up ahead of me. I didn't notice before, but Kyle is running with her. I have no idea what their relationship is, but jealousy rears its ugly head.

"Sabrina! Baby, please stop!" I yell. 

She suddenly stops and spins around, looking at me with nothing but hurt in her eyes. Tears are streaming down her face, and she looks broken. Kyle stops and walks over to stand next to her.

"Don't call me the name you call her!" She yells. She sobs as soon as she finishes.

"Please, Sabrina. Let me explain and talk to you. I never meant for my mate to see that. I know that I haven't made the best impression and that you have every right to be hurt and angry. But please give me a chance to prove that I want you and only you." I beg her.

"Ha! Eva told me how you loved being with her more than the others and that you are planning on naming her your chosen mate. You are going to name her Luna! She said that you show your appreciation for her help all night long. She loves you!" She sinks to the ground and starts laughing. "I've spent my life waiting for my mate. Never even kissing a guy. I wasn't actively looking, but I never shared anything that I would give to my mate. And yet, look what I get. I get to walk in on my mate and another woman. Not only that, but I find out he has been with multiple she-wolves."

I notice that people are starting to crowd around. My Gamma and his mate are there along with Eva. I don't want a show being made out of my anguish. I link Zack to get them out of here.

"Eva. I'm sorry you had to see this. I won't stand in your way. Alpha, you'll need to find another healer. I'm not meant to be here." Sabrina says as she bows her hand and then turns and walks away.

"Sabrina, no, please wait." I go to walk after her, and I feel hands holding me back.

"Oliver giver her time. She's hurt, and she needs time." Zack says. 

I watch as Kyle follows behind her, no doubt wanting to make sure that she makes it home safely. My wolf is howling in pain, knowing that another male is watching over our mate, all because I couldn't control my urges.

"Gwen, would you get Lily and head over to Sabrina's? I think she will need someone to talk to. Kyle's her friend, but he won't' be able to comfort her the way you girls can." Zack says to his mate.

I know that that request is also for me because he knows my wolf will be angry with another male around our mate. People start to clear off, and I look over to Eva, who stands there with her head down. She knows that she lied and that her deception caused my mate to be more upset.

"Eva. Look at me," I say in my Alpha voice.

She looks up with tears in her eyes. I never once said anything to her that could be taken as I wanted to make her my mate. From the very beginning, I always said that there would never be anything serious between us. 

"Why would you lie about that? What made you feel that it would be ok for you to go around telling people that I was going to make you Luna?" My voice gets louder with each word that I say. 

At this point, it is only Zack, Eric, Eva, and I standing there. My anger is rising so much more, that my wolf howls. The pain in my heart is unbearable, and I want nothing more than to hold my mate and try to fix what I screwed up.

"I... I love you, and you've stayed with me longer than anyone else. I was afraid that she would steal you away from me. She's beautiful and smart and probably a better healer! I thought if I told her those things that she wouldn't be interested in you.!" She yells out, bursting into tears.

"That wasn't your choice to make, Eva. You have a mate out there, and he wouldn't want to hear rumors that you are going to be chosen by someone else. Your lie may have just cost me, my mate!" 

"Eva, I think it is best if you come to your room. Alpha Oliver is too upset to be around you. Beta Eric will handle your punishment for lying about your Alpha. Please wait in your room until a decision is made. Someone will bring your meals to you." Zack says. 

Eric is pacing in front of me, and I can feel the nerves rolling off him in waves. Eric has always wanted for me to wait for my mate so that he could serve his Luna. Beta's have this instinctive need to protect their Lunas. Right now he is fighting with his wolf so that he won't try and kill me for hurting her. 

"I screwed everything up just like you said I would. I never thought that it would happen that fast. What do I do?" I whisper, more to myself than anyone else.

"Oliver, we can't tell you how to fix this. The best thing you can do is give her time and don't give up. If she thinks that you aren't going to put in the effort she is going to want to run for the hills. Women are complicated in some ways, but to be honest, they want the simplest of things. Love. She wants to be loved and to be the only one that you love. Right now, she feels like she isn't your one and only." Eric says.

"When I brought her into your office, she saw you in the middle of sleeping with another woman. Granted, she didn't know at the time that you were her mate, but she still remembers it all. Now she knows you're her mate and she not only knows but witnessed your infidelity." Zack says with a sigh.

"But we didn't know we were mates at the time. Can she really hold my past against me?" I ask, not knowing what to think.

"She can! You have to remember she is from a pack where they wait for their mates. They feel like it is wrong to sleep with someone who isn't their mate. They place their mate's feelings above their own." Zack says.

"I've never thought about it the way that they do. I guess since I never thought it would be possible for my mate to see me in that position, I didn't think about how she would feel. Not to mention that I never thought my mate would come from a pack that felt that way about mates." I run my hand through my hair. 

I think that I will pull back for tonight and try to think of what I can do to try and fix this mess. She needs time to understand her feeling and to process all of this. Hopefully, the girls will be able to help her understand what she's feeling and maybe even that I would never hurt her on purpose.

"I'm going to go for a run. Let me know if anything changes. Have a warrior keep watch over her house." With that, I take off to the forest, hoping to clear my mind and find some answers to save my relationship with my mate.
