Oliver
The last two hours have not been the most shining moments in my career as alpha. I managed to screw a she-wolf in front of the new healer and had forgotten that she was even coming today. I wasn't always this distracted and careless, but today my wolf had been clawing at me for some reason. He was getting tired of waiting for his mate. He wanted her and was ready to take control and go find her.
I wanted her as well, but I knew that with all the rogue attacks, it wasn't safe for me to leave. I trusted my beta and gamma to handle the pack, but I wouldn't put anyone at risk. My wolf would have to be patient a little longer.
I was able to fulfill some of my needs with the different she-wolves I had been with. I've tried to keep things casual with them, but Eva has started to get attached. She's a great girl who is gorgeous and fantastic in bed. And I know that if I asked she would take the position of luna in a heartbeat.
The problem was that part of me still wanted to wait for my mate. At twenty-five, most wolves were mated for several years and would have multiple children. I have done nothing but work and play around. The girls help break up the loneliness that I feel.
"Do you have any idea how messed up that was?" I hear Zack yell as he opens the door to my office.
"If you had knocked like a normal person, none of that would have happened!" I snap at him.
"You told me to just bring her in when she got here. You told me specifically that I didn't need to knock!" He yells.
I'm trying to think of what to say next when Eric, my beta, comes walking in. He too has a look of annoyance on his face. Both of them have found their mates, so they don't understand how I feel. Neither of them played around that much either before they were mated. It wasn't anything that they cared to do. I was like most people in this pack and thought that it was a good distraction.
"You have to understand that she isn't just the new healer, but also a very close friend of Alpha Sebastian. He was incredibly reluctant to let her come here, and now you've managed to make us look like a bunch of horny wolves. You didn't see her face when I had to tell her that Eva wasn't your mate. She was shocked." Zack huffs out.
"I don't see how her opinion of me has any effect on my life." I scoff.
"Someday, you are going to regret all of this playing around. It may be that your mate gets upset about it, or you'll mess around with the wrong girl and get yourself in trouble." Eric says while shaking his head.
"I don't think either of you gets how hard it is waiting on someone who may or may not show up!" I yell, losing my temper.
"And I don't think you get that you're going to end up losing a lot if you don't stop thinking with your d**k," Eric says.
Normally, I wouldn't allow anyone to talk to me like this. But Eric and Zach have been my best friends for years. We have been through a lot together, and I do value their opinions. I have to make this right. As much as I don't want to admit it, I was a jerk to the new girl. I was so busy with Eva I didn't even look up to see her.
"I'll fix it. Look, I know that I'm not doing everything right. I'm trying and failing to find my mate. If the rogue attacks will let up then I'll go visit some other packs. I'll get my act together. I promise." I tell them, and I mean it.
I get busy the rest of the day doing pack work, so I never make it out to see the new healer. The next morning is fairly busy, so it's after lunch before I can make it out to her home. I drive over to where Zack told me she lived.
She had requested a home that wasn't surrounded by others. She apparently likes to have her privacy. I had no problem with this, so I okayed the placement. The only fear I had was that she would be far away from the rest of the pack and if rogues attacked it could be a problem.
I see that she received her car and by the looks of it, she has already been out and about. I had to beg Sebastian to let us have a healer. Eva had been born here in the pack, but other than that, we were short on healers. I needed a healer each time I tried to use my powers because I tend to use fire to the point I burn myself.
Eva does a decent job of helping my healing process, but in all honesty, she was limited to what she could do for me and the pack. With the attacks becoming more frequent, I needed someone with more power to help.
I walk up to the door and knock. I hear music playing, and I chuckle thinking about her trying to get settled in. I hear someone running to the door, and it cracks open slightly. I try to get a peek at whoever is there, but the c***k is tiny.
"Hi, I'm Alpha Oliver. I stopped by to speak with the new healer." I realize I don't even know her name.
"Eric, what's the new healer's name?" I mind link asking him for help.
"Sabrina. Dude, you have to change this s**t is getting old." He growls out.
"Is Sabrina here by chance?" I ask the c***k in the door.
I feel like a complete moron standing here talking to a c***k in the door. There must be some reason that the person at the door doesn't want me to see them. I start to get a little frustrated when I hear a voice.
"I'm sorry, Alpha. I'm Sabrina. I would invite you in, but my state of dress is currently not appropriate for you to see. I sort of made a mess of myself cleaning and organizing. I apologize for being rude." She says with a little fear.
"Sabrina, that's no problem. I just wanted to come by and apologize for what happened yesterday. That never should have happened. I hope that you won't think badly of me for that. I'm very grateful to you for being willing to come and help my pack. Eva is good, but she isn't really trained in healing. She mainly uses her powers to do what she can."
"Well, I would be more than happy to help in any way that I can. If she is up for training, I can help teach her something to help. I know that the two of you are close, and you may feel more comfortable with her healing you." She says with a little less fear.
"I think she may like that. I'll let you get back to what you were doing. It was a nice meeting, you, Sabrina."
She says her goodbyes, and I head back to my truck. My wolf is acting up, so I think that maybe I need to go for a run. I head out to the Forrest on the other side of the pack land. Once there, I strip down and change into my wolf.
Hours fly by, and my wolf loves every moment of it. He was able to hunt and play, which made him calm down some. As I'm changing back and getting my clothes on, my thoughts drift back to the new healer. Her voice was soft and sweet. She seemed to be genuine in her willingness to help out.
Zack and Eric both said that she was a friend of Sebastian's. So that means that she is most likely one of the best healers around. Sebastian and I have never been friends per se, but I respect him and all he has done for his pack.
No matter what I try to think about on the trip back, my thoughts drift back to Sabrina. I wonder what she looks like and how she practices her powers? I want to find out what makes her so special, that her Alpha would befriend her.
I pull into the packhouse and walk up the stairs to my office. As I open the door, I smell Eva. My thoughts immediately go back to Sabrina and how I couldn't smell her earlier. She must have been using some type of cleaners that hide her smell.
"Why Alpha, where have you been? I've been waiting for you to come back, and let me take some of that stress off you." She purrs.
"I went to apologize to the new healer and then went on a run," I say, walking over to the couch in my office.
"Why would you need to apologize?" She asks, walking over and sitting on my lap.
"She saw us the other day on the desk. Not the best first impression." She gasps, only just now realizing that we were seen.
"I just saw her at the store, and she didn't say anything!' She squeals out, making my ears ring.
"She seems to be a classy woman, who doesn't hold things against people," I say in all honesty. "She is even willing to train you some."
"Are you trying to replace me as your healer?" She pouts out.
"What? No. I said if, you want. If you think you do better on your own, then it's fine, baby." She smiles and gives me a quick kiss.
The girl needs lots of reassurance, but she's more tolerable than some of the other girls I've slept with. I know that this means more to her than it does to me, but I need the distraction until my mate comes.
