Dragon Emperor The Lost Seals Untitled Episode
LEGENDARY SON-IN-LAW Chapter 1: The Useless Son-in-Law Rain poured over Jiang City (**) as luxury cars lined the entrance of the magnificent Su Family Manor (****). Inside the grand banquet hall, laughter and music filled the air. Crystal chandeliers illuminated expensive decorations, and dozens of influential guests gathered to celebrate the seventieth birthday of Old Madam Su (****). Members of the Su Family proudly presented extravagant gifts. "A jade Buddha worth three hundred thousand yuan!" "An antique calligraphy scroll from the Ming Dynasty!" "A rare ginseng over one hundred years old!" Each announcement drew applause. At the back of the hall stood a young man in plain clothes. His name was Li Chen (**). Three years earlier, he had married Su Xinyi (***) and become the Su Family's live-in son-in-law. To everyone in Jiang City, he was a joke. He had no wealth. No powerful family. No successful career. People called him the useless son-in-law. "Look at him," one relative sneered. "He came empty-handed again." Another laughed. "If I were him, I'd be too ashamed to show my face." Li Chen remained calm, as though he hadn't heard a single insult. Beside him, Su Xinyi frowned. "Enough," she said. "He's my husband." Her words silenced the room for only a moment before mocking laughter erupted again. Old Madam Su glanced coldly at Li Chen. "So, Li Chen," she said, "what birthday gift have you prepared for me?" Everyone turned to look at him. Li Chen reached into his pocket and carefully removed a small wooden box. The hall fell silent. He opened it. Inside lay a simple jade pendant. Before he could speak, Su Hao burst into laughter. "A cheap piece of jade?" "You dare present garbage to Grandma?" The other family members joined in. "I've seen better jewelry sold on the roadside." "Even the gift box looks worthless." Old Madam Su's expression darkened. "Li Chen," she said coldly, "do you take this family for fools?" Su Xinyi stepped forward. "Grandmother, please..." But Li Chen gently stopped her. He looked at the old woman and spoke calmly. "This jade pendant is more valuable than it appears." Su Hao smirked. "Really?" "How much is it worth?" Li Chen answered quietly. "It cannot be measured with money." The room exploded with laughter. Someone nearly spilled his wine. Another guest shook his head. "This fool has finally lost his mind." Old Madam Su slammed her cane against the floor. "Enough!" "Throw that trash away." A servant stepped forward to take the pendant. The moment his fingers touched it— A warm golden light flashed across the hall. The servant cried out in surprise and stumbled backward. The jade pendant remained untouched on the table, glowing faintly before the light disappeared as suddenly as it had appeared. Everyone froze. "What... was that?" someone whispered. Su Hao forced a laugh. "It must be a trick." "Exactly," another relative agreed. "Probably some cheap electronic toy." The atmosphere slowly relaxed. Only Li Chen remained expressionless. He quietly closed the wooden box. "If Grandmother doesn't want it," he said, "I'll keep it." Old Madam Su snorted. "Take your worthless gift and leave my sight." Before Li Chen could respond, his phone vibrated. He glanced at the screen. The message contained only one sentence. Young Master, the Dragon Emperor Ring (***) has awakened. Return immediately. Li Chen's eyes narrowed. After three years of silence... They had finally found him. He slipped the phone back into his pocket and looked toward the storm raging outside the manor. The peaceful life he had tried to protect was about to end. And no one in the Su Family realized that the man they had mocked for three years... ...was the heir to a forgotten legend.
