Chapter 1: Cheers for a New Life
“Why did my life turned out to be this way? Did I do something wrong?”
Samantha was shouting to her heart’s content at an open space in a soccer arena. No one is there except her. She wanted to express everything that was kept in her mind and every word of sentiments she had for her adoptive parents and her sister.
“You!” she shouted while pointing to the beautiful full moon. “It’s all your fault! Why did I have to exist? Why?” She said and drank from a can of beer.
“First, I was an abandoned as a child. I have a family now but look at them, they never cared for me.They always favored their wicked and beloved daughter. Who am I to go against her? I am an adopted child after all. Should I just be thankful they raised me?”
Now, she was not shouting, she just murmured her sentiments. Her voice was cracking and tears flowed in her rosy cheeks because of the alcohol she drank.
Ring….. ring….. ring….
She woke up by the sound of her alarm.
“urgh, my head aches.”
She held her head as she remembered what she did last night but quickly tossed out of bed for a shower.
She had to hurry before she is too late for her audition.
It is another day for her to find a role in a drama or else she will be out of money.
She recently moved out from her adoptive parent’s mansion because she couldn’t stand the trouble her sister is causing her.
Afterall, she’s already 25. It’s time to be independent and feed herself. She was able to buy an apartment using the money she saved from her scholarship in college and some earnings from minor roles she acted in dramas.
Her place is wide enough and it is suitable for her simple and attractive self. By moving out, she hoped for a new life with out the Bradstreet family in her life.
She wore an elegant dress with a light makeup, suited for her innocent look. She was always beautiful whatever she wears. During gatherings in the family, even if she is standing alone in a corridor wearing a simple dress, she always manages to make people turn their heads to see a beautiful doll standing in a corner. Sophie who is wearing a princess dress is very envious of her.
“Fighting,” she cheered herself before going to the studio where the audition is held.
“Hello, good morning.” She greeted the others with a bright smile and sat in an available sit.
A simple looking girl wearing a red sweater sat on the empty chair beside her.
“Hi, did you also cam here to audition?” the girl whispered.
“Yes, yes, I hope to be accepted as the female lead. How about you?” Samantha replied in cheerful manner.
She was very delighted that someone wanted to talk to her. She never had friends because her sister talked about her badly at school. She made sure that no one will approach her.
“Did you hear the gossip? Sophie Bradstreet got the main role in this drama already. They were just having this audition for the sake of formalities,” the girl whispered.
Just by hearing that name made Samantha lowered her head. Her new world crumbled. She expected too much from this opportunity.
“Really?” She said as a short reply in low voice. She was very disappointed inside. Sophie is like a shadow to her that can never disappear in her life. And in the eyes of the public, Samantha has always been the shadow of Sophie in the entertainment industry. She always wanted to escape from her by moving out of the mansion, but it seems to be quite impossible.
“I already said it to her and she seemed very disappointed,” the girl in red sweater stated facing a woman who wore a fitted dress emphasizing her curves.
“You did a good job.” Sophia said and smirk. “You will always be my shadow Samantha. You will always be under me,” she thought.
Samantha went to audition for the main role but she left there with gloomy eyes. She went to a bar to pour her heart out.
“A bottle of wine please,” she said at the counter as she sat and was lost in deep thoughts even if the bar was too noisy.
Sophie followed her like a stalker. She secretly payed one of the waiters to add a drug on the wine that will be served to Samantha. She made sure that the wine was delivered to her before she left. She planned to let her crazily crave for men and indulge herself in s*x with random guys at the bar so that she will be embarrassed once she saw her face flashed on tomorrows’ news. She might also be kicked out in the family, she thought. She made sure that the wine was delivered and left the bar, she is also a celebrity after all she can’t be caught in an environment like that later.
Samantha drank a glass of wine hurriedly to calm her nerves but she slowly felt hot and dizzy.
“There’s something wrong with this wine’’ she thought while she is looking at the glass she is holding. She was flustered and hurriedly went to a hotel near the bar to spend the night before she couldn’t control herself and act crazily. She used her key card on a room that was slightly opened already.
