I ran through the shelving, dodging and weaving to try and get him to lose me quicker. I came to a large door with tables stacked in front of it. I quickly scooted them out of the way and opened the door to see the woods positioned at the back side of the library. It leads outside. This is good! I took off running into the deep woods and heard a voice shouting from the direction of the library. "You really think I can't find you again?" His throaty voice ripped through me like arrows of steel as I stomped through the thick brush, ripping my legs open on the briers and sticks, but my adrenaline was so high I couldn't feel it. I neared a clearing and turned to avoid it when I felt a hard branch slam against the front of my legs, tripping me up. I slammed into the ground and slid against the fallen leaves. I ached in pain before attempting to stand when I felt a pair of hands drag me back by my ankles. "No!" I screamed, digging my nails into the ground, attempting to crawl away before he flipped me over and I was staring at the masked man above me. "I caught you little M.." His raspy voice rung in my ears like bells. "Get off me!" I yelled kicking him in the stomach causing him to stumble backwards giving me enough time to stand but not enough time to run before I felt his arms wrap around me and his gloved hand to cover my mouth with a cloth rag. I screamed in terror, but it was muffled by his hand. "Sleep," He spoke dreadfully and I felt that my eyes grew heavy and any bit of strength filtering through my limbs began to slowly dissipate. No.. This isn't fair.. What do these people even want from me? The more time I spend outside my castle the more I realize my regret towards leaving.. I should've stayed, married Asmon or Veron and taken the throne; my life would've never became so chaotic and maybe I would've been with my father during his last few months on this dreadful earth.. Maybe I would've been happier taking my own life after his came to an end. As my last few thoughts raced through my mind, I felt tears stream from my sleepy eyes. As my body became limp, he laid me back onto the ground, I stared at the leaves and darkening sky above me as everything increasingly grew darker and darker. "I just want to go home.." I spoke weakly as my eyes came to a complete shut and everything around me became silent. I was never going home again. I would never see my father again, never confront Angel about her photograph or see my friends again. I was asleep and now completely in the hands of someone with no good intentions.
I awoke to the sound of two strange men bickering. I was cold and the room smelt of a rotting corpse. "I just don't see why this was all necessary.. wouldn't you rather have someone willing?" I heard the voice of my kiddnapper speaking. I remained silent with my eyes closed to appear asleep. "Weren't we raised to be this way? Take what isn't ours.. make it ours.." I could almost feel the eyes of the second voice weighing heavily on me as they spoke. I couldn't stop the chills from appearing along my skin at his words. "That doesn't make any of this right Kaius.. Besides, once she learns of her abilities.. I fear for you." My kiddnapper spoke once again, giving the other voice a name. Abilities? What are they talking about? "If she retaliates there will always be another mate." Kaius spoke and I sat up urgently at his words, seeing him dressed the same as my kiddnapper except his color pattern was white and gray instead of plain black like my kiddnappers'. "Mate?!" I asked in urgency. Both men quickly clicked their heads toward me. I was lying in a metal cage on a wooden cot in what seemed to be a dungeon.. No wonder it smelt of a rotting corpse. "Go inform father she's awake and that we're coming." Kaius spoke, nearing my cage and peering in at me with cold eyes through his mask. My kiddnapper stood in the same place, staring a hole through Kaius. "Zion! That was an order, go!" Kaius demanded once again. This time Zion obliged him and left the room and he fumbled with the keys to unlock my cage. I stood from my cot, balling my fists up and backing up against the opposite end of the cage. "Let me go.." I quietly asked him as I heard the click of the lock as he pulled the key back out before opening the door, removing the barricade from between us.
"Oh but sweetheart.. We're going to have so much fun together."
