LXVII: Mission accomplished (3)

Both men were heavily breathing as they looked at each other. Hanibal no longer had his knife in his hand, but the Deer still had his survival knife on his back and several throwing knives tied to his leg. “This reminds me of that time. You did it again. You canceled my power,” Hanibal said between intermittent gasps. To which the Deer responded, trying to breathe firmly, “My power works for that...” “Well, let’s end this as men, Deer.” The Deer took the survival knife he had from its sheath and threw it on the ground, looking at Hanibal with a smile and saying, “As men then, Hanibal!” And with those words, both men began to fight. Hanibal threw several Jabs at the Deer, but he evaded them using lateral movements. Then the Deer tried to look for a takedown, but Hanibal lowering the center of gravity, stopped him. The killer elbowed the back of the Deer, and this kneeling rolled on his back, taking the leg of his enemy. This movement caused Hanibal to lose his balance, and with his heel, he tried to hit the assassin’s face. Hanibal stopped this attack with both hands and rolled back to his feet. The Deer got up and saw how Hanibal began to throw kicks at him. Several hit, and some were evaded. But suddenly, Hanibal jumped up and was about to give the Deer a flying kick. The Deer saw his opening and crouching down, and he hit Hanibal’s lost base causing him to crash to the ground. The murderer tried to stand up, but when he was about to do so, he saw how the Deer’s hands closed around his neck, and the Deer used one of the columns to run through it and use centrifugal force to rotate his neck in a circular motion. His body was in the air, and with that raised Hanibal’s and threw him through the air so that it crashed hard against the ground. The murderer felt the pain in his back, and when he tried to get up, two kicks were enough to prevent it. The man rolled to make distance with the mercenary, and when he got up, he raised his guard, the Deer attacked once more. Hanibal tried to hit him, but his blows impacted with the void because the Deer was going again for the takedown, this time he took both Hanibal’s legs and lifting him up into the air slammed him with such violence against the ground that all the air in Hanibal’s lungs disappeared. After that, the Deer began his attack by constantly hitting Hanibal in the face. When he began to protect himself, the Deer alternated his attacks, took Hanibal’s arm, and, setting a lever, was preparing to break it when the murderer reached out to take a knife. Deer walked away and took one of his throwing knives. The Deer moved away and watched as Hanibal, who made a great effort to get up, pulled a small pistol from his ankle to aim it. “You are the winner, and there is no doubt. What a good beating you gave me. But since the last time I learned. Now, look what I have—a secure.” The Deer smiled as he held the knife by the edge. Hanibal looked at him and said, “You and your love of knives will not get to throw it before it shoots, Deer.” But the smiling Deer said, “Yes, of course….” Suddenly a blue image appeared in front of Hanibal, telling him to back off, but he could not follow the instruction. Next to him appeared Karen, who kicked his hand, making him drop the weapon. The Deer, without wasting time, threw his knife hard at Hanibal’s chest, striking him cleanly and causing the man to fall to the ground. The murderer was looking at his pierced chest, he tried to take the knife from him, but he could not, he was watching the Deer, and the murderer began to smile. “You beat me, and you didn’t want to kill me. But in the end, you have no choice. Only one would survive this time.” The Deer looked at him and crouched in front of him to say, “How about a prize for the winner? Tell me. Who hired you?” “I can’t say Deer, his power won’t let me, but I assure you that you know him, and he’s much more dangerous than me.” The Deer looked at the murderer, who smiled, his gaze was lost on the ceiling, and before closing his eyes, he said, “We were never friends. You and I are different, but if the desire of a dying man is worth something. Please. Kill that bastard.” The Deer observed Hanibal. He did not cry, he did not laugh, he only observed the free ceiling. in the wound on his chest, the blood gushed out, the young man pulled the knife that was there, and the blood began to come out. He looked at the Deer once more and, smiling, died. The Deer felt a strong relief on his back. He sat on the ground and looking at Karen, and he said, “It’s over. We prevented war, is not so...?” The girl smiled, and she dropped to the ground. Her smile turned to tears, and she suddenly began to sob. On the other side, her companions came. Troy was watching Karen and said, “Steven escaped...” The girl looked at him and said, “But he was dead.” But the protector shook his head. He looked at Hanibal dead and the Deer sitting on the ground and asked, “How are you, Deer?”  “Better than him... and you?” “Better than you.” “Is everyone okay?” But that question was answered by Simon, who entered supported by Trixie, “Yes, we are all fine.” The Deer smiled, and looking at Hanibal’s corpse, he got up and said, “There are still a few days to complete the month. That’s great, and we did it.” Everyone celebrated and raised their hands in a sign of victory, but the fatigue from that combat killed the excitement. Karen smiled as she looked at the Deer, and he told her. “Time to deliver this package.” To which the young woman replied, “And stop the war.” And so, Hanibal had died, the mission seemed to be completed. Everything would return to normal, or so the young people thought. But something else was happening in that country. And finding out would drain everyone’s happiness. An hour after the incident had ended, the young men gathered the enemies who were still alive, and Karen had called the security forces to send the necessary teams to take care of the prisoners. She had also called Jolanda, who would inform the aide to the chancellor that Hanibal King had finally been arrested. Troy approached Karen, who had finished talking on the phone, and a paramedic was tending to her injured hand. “Hello, how is that small hand?” “Could be better. But your friend opened the wound that Hanibal had caused me, and he caused another one right next to it.” “Yes, Steven can be a nuisance...” “Then you didn’t find it...” “I didn’t, sorry. Everything indicates that he recovered and fled. And he took Carolina with him.” “I see…” “Jack and Gia are unconscious and in custody, and Hanibal’s body is ready to be taken to the national security headquarters.” “Perfect, I already spoke with Julius, he will give the announcement at a press conference, and everything will be fine.” “Well. You don’t need us anymore, so we’ll go back to our place. I’ll make sure our unwanted guest is delivered to your team.”             “I appreciate it, Troy. Everything.” “Don’t worry, girl, and you’re really good people. I was happy to help you, and with respect to Steven, if you need help with him, do not hesitate to call.” The young woman nodded and, smiling, concentrated on the cure that the paramedic was carrying out. Simon was sitting on a stretcher inside an ambulance. His right leg was broken into three different parts, and his left arm was also totally fractured along with three ribs, but his face showed great satisfaction at accomplishing the mission. Beside him, Trixie laughed and chatted laughingly with him. The Deer, who had just hung up the phone, approached his companion and asked, “How are you guys?” To which the young woman replied, “I’m fine. But this guy was lucky to survive.” Simon smiled and said, “Yes. But the truth is that now we are even. I saved your life in there, and I return the favor you did for me at Julia’s house.” The girl nodded, smiling as she arranged her hair. The Deer stared at her and said, “Thanks for this, Trix. You were very helpful.” “You’re kidding!” Simon said, “She practically did everything in there.” The girl smiled and replied as she looked at Simon sweetly, “You did your part too.” The blond mercenary looked at her wounds wryly and replied, “I prefer your method.” They all smiled and Troy taking the Deer’s shoulder from behind, said, “Trix, we must go. Jerome is being taken to the hospital, and this time no one will heal him.” The girl nodded and got out of the ambulance. She gave the Deer a kiss on the cheek and said, “You’re a good leader, boy. Now I know two good people that I would follow without hesitation.” The young man nodded, and then the girl stared at the blond and approaching, whispered something in his ear, and as she walked away, she said, “I’ll call you later, Simon...”
