Her Refusal

Diana after giving her reply, stood up firmly and left the restaurant. After that, Alex was unable to understand anything. He was just standing there and was looking at her, slowly going away from him. The waiter came with their order, but he just stood there confused because Diana wasn't there anymore and Alex was just standing still.

"Excuse me, sir your order is here." The waiter said while looking nervously at Alex. 

Alex stared at the waiter and after a while left the place as well. He could not control his emotions. He was feeling sad and angry both at the same time. He drove his car at full speed and after reaching at his house, he went directly into his room and locked the door.

After leaving the restaurant, Diana sat in a taxi, she thought, Why? Why is this happening to me. All I want is a normal life, where I can have a proper job, so that I can feed myself on my own and achieve something big in life. I am not ready for any relationship like this. When she was in her house and was sitting in her room. She could not stop her tears. So many things had happened in a single day. She cried, while keeping her voice as low as  she was able to, because, Edward room was next to hers. Although he always came to her, when he felt like crying or when he felt sad but Diana never let him see, her tears. She knew that he was already going through a lot and did not want him to feel burdened by her problems as well. She kept on crying and then, she fell a asleep, without even knowing, when. 

Next morning, she woke up and checked her phone. There were 25 missed calls from Alex, and a single message: "Lets sit down and talk." She did not message him back and went into her bathroom. She felt thankful that even after crying for so long, she did not have bags under her eyes. She got ready and wore a light pink sweater with black jeans and left the house without having breakfast. On her way there, she thought that there was no point in not going to the university today. If not today then tomorrow, she has to face him, than why not end this chapter as soon as possible and move on with her life.

Diana reached at the university and saw Alex's car also entering there. She stood there, and waited for him to get out. When he got out from his car and saw her standing near the gate he stopped.

"You were right, we should sit down and talk, I will text you the location, lets meet in the evening." Diana looked into Alex's eyes and said plainly. Before he could answer, she walked away. 

After class, she messaged him the location of a small cafe near the book store, where she works. Before her restaurant's swift, she had one hour gap, so she had some time to have the talk with him. Since the cafe was small, she took no time in finding him. He was already sitting there. Diana walked towards the table, she sat in front of him and they both got lost into each others' eyes.

"Alex." Diana said slowly.

"Diana.....why?" Alex could not say anything besides this.

"Alex, you know nothing about me, it's not about you, it's me, you see, I have dreams which I want to fulfill and for that I really have to work hard and have focus only on them. Besides I have other responsibilities as well, I neither have time nor energy for this. I just can't....I am sorry...Please try to understand." Diana said with cracked voice and eyes filled with sadness.

"If that's how it is.........then it's fine Diana...I...won't stop you from achieving your dreams." Alex said finally, after processing everything, she had said into his brain.

"I wish you luck, may you achieve everything that you had ever dreamed of......Goodbye, Diana." Alex said with a serious voice, he got up and before leaving stared into her eyes for the last time.

Alex came back to his house, he sat on his desk and opened his laptop. He opened the file, in which he had saved her pictures and stared at them with his empty mind. After an hour, he got up and called Jack.

"Good evening, sir." Jack greeted.

"Jack, don't stop following her, from now on follow her everywhere and send me information about everything she does but keep this in mind that you have to do this for a really long time. Tell me now, if you can't, than I will find someone else to do it." Alex said.

"No sir, please don't ask anyone else, I will do this job for sure, without making any mistakes. Please have confidence in me." Jack said confidently.

"Okay then, don't disappoint me and don't let anyone know anything about it, got it?" Alex asked.

"Yes sir, I will start from tomorrow." Jack replied.

"Good." Alex replied and ended the call.

Alex sat on his desk and started staring at Diana's picture again.

"Honey, with that attitude of yours.....you have made me fall in love with your stubbornness. Now, I hope you enjoy your freedom as much as you can, because, after that, you will have to spend your whole life with me.....and when that will happen....you will never be able to run away from me anywhere." Alex said while still staring at her picture and smirking.
