Alone in the new world

Jason gasped as he was startled awake, he looked around at the strange environment nervously,he looked down at his hands and felt around his body and sighed in relief, before losing consciousness or more precisely evaporating into nothing while holding Vik's hand as he suffered the consequences of his actions, he had stubbornly held to him till the end and they'd both been swallowed by some light only to wake up here? Vik? Jason scrambled to his feet and looked around the the lavish office he woke up in, "Vik?" he called out earnestly He ran around the office like a mad man when he passed by the full dressing mirror close to the desk, that was when he saw himself.He looked pretty much the same, only a bit more handsome and his hair was a bit longer adding to the charm. Jason diverted his attention back to the desk and looked through it,there he found an identity card with his picture and his name on it, Jason frowned "...a professor?" He tossed the I.d on the desk and made for the door, he really needed to find Vik, but as he opened the door in a rush to get out, he tripped on something and 'thud...ungh' he hit the ground He groaned in pain and got all fours so he could slowly calm his dizzy head but as he looked up , his heart caught in his throat, sitting right there in front of him...behind a desk...with a sandwich in hand and mouth open, was Vik looking at him in surprise. "are you alright professor?' Vik finally stood and came close to him but not close enough for Jason to hold him and...he was walking on his two feet "Vik, it's you Vik?" Jason mumbled as managed to get up from the ground "yes, shall I get a doctor to check you?" Vik answered taking a step back with every step Jason took towards him "I'm fine, and what's with the professor?" Jason asked frowning "well you are a__ungh" his words were cut off with sudden embrace he was pulled into "you're alive__ I'm glad, really glad you are alive__ I was so scared when I opened my eyes and you weren't there" Jason finally released Vik from the embrace so he could take a proper look at him "you look__" "lewd?" "what? no, I was going to say pretty, why would you say that?" "well you remind me constantly that the way I behave around you is lewd and it creeps you out, but I'm glad you're fine professor, do you think you let go__I do not want to tempt you " Vik said while wriggling out of Jason's hold but he was instantly pulled back into a bear hug "it's me Vik, it's Jason, what's with all these strange attitude?" Jason released him but still held him close "you remember me right, your partner" Vik didn't respond for the longest time and only stared at him, then he called softly "Jason?" "yes Vik it's me" Vik smiled in response and said "would you like to sit, anyone could come in here and it won't be nice if they found us embracing each other" Jason wanted to protest but couldn't as his legs still felt weak. He was helped back into his office to rest and that was when he began the real questions "professor?...in what? Mathematics?" Vik glance at him from the desk he was rearranging "yes" "how long?" "about four years" Vik answered and picked the glasses that had been discarded on the floor "professor shall i get you a doctor to check you, you look pale__" "Vik it's me" Jason almost yelled. He took a deep breath to calm his nerves "it's me, I don't know what's going on that why I'm asking all these questions" "the last I remember before I got here was holding you while that light swallowed us__ I woke here and you weren't with me and panicked" "why?" Vik asked shrugging "you never wanted me anywhere close to you, I still have this Job because the registrar refused to give in to your complaints" Jason sighed deeply and cupped his on his face for a moment "how long have you been here?" he asked "five years, I was assigned as your assistant, when you began lecturing here" "and before then?" "I searched for you for a year but I couldn't find you,I thought perhaps you didn't exist in this dimension but then__ you showed up and__ you didn't know me..." Jason understood now, but what he didn't understand was how Vik had gotten here before him, he didn't even expect they were getting another chance at life but here they are_ alive "this professor_ Jason was a jerk huh?" Vik frowned "is that a trick question?" "no it's not" Jason sighed again he could a headache building up "look " he got up "I only just got here so I don't know about what I'd done in the past four years but I can imagine from the way you're avoiding me that I had really hurt you, I did it before, I've done it again__" Jason walked close and held vik's hand "I'm just an i***t, so just please forgive me and let's start over again?" Vik didn't answer for some time and when he did, he answered with just one word "sure" That was all Jason got from him before Vik went all professional on him and reminded or informed him that he had an afternoon lecture and gave him his notes to prepare and when he tried to protest saying 'but i only just got here', he was firmly led to his desk to sit and asked to stay put before the door to his office was shut with a loud bang. Jason chuckled, atleast that meant something, he was really glad that they were both alive, he had every intention of doing it right this time. Making that firm resolution, he picked up the lesson note he had prepared and looked through it.
