Miane's POV
The last hour is blurry for me. I vaguely remember that girl going on about how he should have rejected me and then the horrible pain in my chest. I remember feeling as if my insides were burning up. I tried to speak and to move but my body couldn't. I could hear Jeandre and my family crying over me and I could do nothing to tell them I'm still here. After that, I don't remember much just me waking up feeling Jeandre so close to me and hearing grandpa saying that we are special, that we are saviors, speaking of a myth. "Your back, please don't ever leave me again," Jeandre says as he holds me close to him. I stand up and get hugs and kisses from everyone and Jeandre didn't like his brother hugging me. I sit down next to him and speaking softly so that no one can hear me "don't worry I'm just yours." I nearly jumped when I heard his voice in my head "I know baby, your mine forever." I smile at him and then turn to my grandpa, "so grandpa what myth are you talking about?" I ask my grandpa who seems nervous and excited at the same time. "First before I tell you about the myth there is something I need to tell all of you. What is said in this room needs to stay in this room. Especially the first part, the rest people will find out eventually so we can't do anything about that. But I need to tell you about the first part so that you know and understand where I get my information from. So I need all of you to swear to me today that you will stay quiet." We all agree to keep it for ourselves. " I am a dragon" Everyone looked at him shocked except for grandma who was encouraging him to continue. "I am one of the only three dragons left on earth. I am a sea dragon and that is why I live near the ocean. There is also Drake who is a fire dragon and Izak who is a forest dragon. We used to be four, but unfortunately, Enid who was also a sea dragon just vanished no one knows where she is. It has been a thousand years since we last saw her. She was married to Drake." I see the sadness on grandpa's face and I stand up and walk to him and hug him. "It's ok if you can't go on grandpa we understand." He shakes his head and squeezes my shoulders I hug him one last time and make my way back to where I was sitting next to Jeandre. "I have to continue so that you know the whole story. Enid is my mother and Drake is my father. My mother was over 3000 years old and in fact, She was one of the first dragons to ever exist. The sea dragons were the first dragons ever created. My grandparents were the very first two and then they had my mother. No one knows what happened to them I just know they were the first, then the fire dragons, and then the forest dragons. We know there are other types of dragons but they're not on earth. So the Sea dragons were the guardians of this little book. A spell was put on it by a coven of witches so that the book will never damage, tear, break, burn, or anything." He holds up a lighter to demonstrate. The flame covers the book but it does not burn the book. Grandpa shows us how he tries to tear the book but the book is indeed indestructible. "This book was made by the Gods to be used as instructions. They never said when it will be needed, they never said who will need it just said that one day we will know when the time comes. So my grandparents had the book and they hid it in the ocean deep down inside a cave where no man would be able to go. My mother knew where the book was and told my father the whereabouts of the book knowing that he would never be able to get there. She was gone a few days after I was born. With time my father forgot about the book until one day he found a note inside one of the books in their bookcase. In the note, she told my father that if she was ever unable to tell her son where the book was hidden that he should tell me. That I will need it one day. My father told me and. Immediately after he told me about the book I started my journey to find it it took me about a year to find the cave. Over the years I have spent studying this book trying to figure it out. But now I know and the day to unlock all its secrets is here." he says as he looks down to the book in his hand. "Why didn't you tell me, dad? Why did you tell me you were human when you're not?" My mother asks my grandpa. "I had to Leila, for my family's safety as well as my own. People used to hunt dragons. But not just people, some magical creatures hunted us as well. Our skin serves as a great armor as it is like steel. Some just wanted to slay us and mount our heads on their walls. Others saw us as threats. So we all stay away from each other for safety reasons and we only gather for emergencies. I see my father about every hundred years or so. But I will have to call him and tell him about this." My mother nods her head in understanding. "I understand dad, but I have to ask. You are with someone who won't live as long as you how will you survive if something were to happen to mom." my mother asks while walking to my grandmother to sit next to her. "Oh my sweet child," my grandmother says. "I did a spell, your father and I are linked. If something is to happen to one of us the other one will die as well. We don't want to live without each other so we chose this. We know that you will be fine so we are ready for when it comes." I see the tears in both of their eyes but I know things will work out perfectly fine. Ruby and Justin were quiet the whole time but Justin spoke for the first time now. "So is Miane a dragon then as well seeing that she has your blood inside her," he asks my grandpa." Oh goddess I don't know if I want to know the answer I don't know how much more I can handle."Yes and no." he answers him while he takes a seat on one of the chairs at the desk where my father is sitting.
