Miane's POV
Earlier we took a bath together at first I felt really shy but as time went by I started to relax more around him. We had a long chat in the bath. We talked about our childhoods and everything else we could think of to talk about, just getting to know each other better. He told me that he would be patient and wait until I'm ready before we take things further although I know he wanted me. I fell more and more for this blue-eyed hunk of mine.
After the bath, we went to the kitchen, and to our surprise, the fridge and the pantry were already stocked with everything we would need. Jeandre made us some coffee and cuddled up together in our bed with our coffee. I must have fallen asleep because when I opened my eyes it was light outside. I haven't slept so well in a long time. I checked the time on my phone and to my surprise, it was past ten already. I wondered where Jeandre was. His side of the bed was empty when I woke up. u wonderful smell led me to the kitchen and there he was making some breakfast. "Good morning beautiful I hope you slept well," he said giving me a quick kiss before continuing with the breakfast. "Did I wake you with the noise in the kitchen?" he asked while dishing up for us. "No not at all, but it might have been the wonderful smell that dragged me out of bed," I answered playfully while giving him a big smile. After we ate we got dressed and went downstairs to find the rest of the family to continue our discussion. We found all of them already in my dad's office. They all greeted us while we sat down. "Jeandre before we start, they still haven't found Jolene yet. Her apartment was a mess when we got there. Her passport and some other belongings were missing, her roommate says that Jolene used to keep cash in a safe the safe was also empty. We're going to find her and she will pay for what she has done." my dad said to Jeandre with a bitter tone. It must have been hard for them to see her stab me thinking they had lost their only child once again. "I want to help you find her, I want to be the one to make her pay" I can feel Jeandre's anger and I try to comfort him by holding his hand. "Unfortunately Jeandre you can't. Miane will need your help to solve and understand this book. It's the only way. " My grandpa informs him. We all catch up for a little while before we continue with the chimera myth.
According to grandpa and the book a long time ago the gods had foreseen that one day there will be a war between all the different magical beings and creatures, this war would be the cause of humans finding out about our existence. The gods could not have this because they knew humans would wipe out the entire magical realm. For hundreds of years, they were looking for solutions to stop this war from happening. After many years they came to a solution and. all of them agreed that this would be the only way. The solution was to take DNA from every magical creature and combine it. The book says that the gods believed that it will take thousands of years to perfect the combined DNA, they will test every sample that they create to first see the outcome of the creature. Entries on the progress magically appear in the book as they progress. Grandpa flipped to the latest entry and read it to us. This entry said that after many failed attempts of trying to create the perfect creature. They realized that all these years they have tried to create this creature to be male never once tried it to be a female. So one God suggested that they give a female a try and to their surprise, it worked. They spent a couple more years perfecting the DNA and finding a way to create a Mate for her so that many generations of this creature could exist. When they first started creating the creature they accidentally created another creature, and they called this creature a dragon. It was a sea dragon and they decided to make the dragons the guardians of the book. So they created more sea dragons so that they could have babies and this way the book could be kept safe for many years. As time went on they realized that the dragons were good at guarding and decided that when the creature was finally born the dragons would be the protectors of the creature. They created more and more different kinds of dragons to ensure that the creature will be kept safe. After they perfected the DNA and made a way for the creature to have a mate they chose a magical creature to carry this special creature. "So grandpa how many years ago did that entry showed up," I asked him curious to know how long ago they chose my mother. "Your mother was about sixteen years old when it appeared. They waited for your mother to find her mate. Your mother got pregnant with you on the very first night she spent with your father." My grandfather says, and my mother blushes when everyone looked at her. "So I was planned for thousands of year's and if I am here now it means that the war they were talking about is close right? I mean if it was not they would have waited to place me here." I asked feeling nervous about the situation. "Yes you are correct it is close but we don't know for sure how close it can still be 20 more years for all we know, and the thing is we don't know how old you can get seeing that your a Phoenix and all." I chuckle at my grandpa's expressions. "This book is full of riddles and in this book, it says that the book will only be understood if the creature finds her mate. You have to decipher the riddles together. It is teamwork from now on." Grandpa says. "Jeandre for the time being you don't have to report for your duties we need you to focus on this book with Miane. You already know most of the stuff and I will get someone to help me for the time being." My dad says while writing something down. We all excuse ourselves and Jeandre and I take the book up to our apartment. My head hurts from all this information and all the thinking. For now I just want to spend the day with Jeandre and not worry about saving the world just for a few hours.
