New town

Marc's POV I m not sure how the hell, I was wrangled into having to move to this small winky dinky little two-bit town. The town seems quiet when I enter. My parole officer managed to get the judge to order me to his small town and give me a job at the local feed store. I was having problems where I was, I knew trouble wouldn't be far behind. Ben in his save the world complex decided to place me where he could watch me the best. For some reason, he seemed to think that I didn't need to go back to prison. That was the one place I knew how it worked. Out here nope. A whole bunch of stupid reigned supreme. I catch a store up ahead and pull in. Walking into the store I go grab a bag of chips and a bottle of water. "Do you know where the feed store is?" I glance at the short round lady on the other side of the counter. She has short blonde hair and a no-nonsense type of expression. "Down the street just outside of town on the right." She finishes just as a roar of tires is heard outside. My attention snaps to it, my bike is outside. The young woman I had parked to storms out of her truck exchanging words with the guy who now has her blocked in. He leaves and she looks pissed. He walks in and I watch as the woman opens his truck door, popping it into neutral and shoving it to roll toward the other parking lot near the bank. "Like s**t," I hear the woman say. She reaches for a phone. "Sheriff, Kevin, and Holly are at it again. No, they didn't fight but she rolled his truck toward the bank. Kevin is chasing her now." I watched her hang up. "That happens a lot?" I asked curiously. "If you stay in this town, you will find out these two and their shenanigans are always happening." She shakes her head. "Anything else?" "Nope" I pop the p on it and wander out the door to see the sheriff blocking in the diesel truck and the guy Kevin who is yelling and throwing a fit. I settle on my bike, taking a long drink of water, and glance down the road toward the feed store. Not much further and I will be seeing what all this entails. Though watching what just happened has me a bit curious for sure. ********* "Hi, I am looking for Clint." I walk to the counter at the feed store. I see the guy behind stiffen and give me a good once over. "Marc?" He grunts back. "Yep, you must be Clint." I look around. People always eyeball me. I am intimidating. I have more tattoos than most, my huge frame has muscles on top of other muscles as I body built while I was in jail. "Yes, let me call Ben. We were expecting you tomorrow." He looking down at the phone. He mutters quietly as I glance around the store getting my bearings. The door slams open, "Did Holly come back here!" Roars the guy I know as Kevin. "No," barks Clint. "I wouldn't tell your dumb ass if I she did." "Remember my dad is on the council," Kevin shoots back. "Don't care," Clint shrugs. Looking at me he says, "Ben will be here shortly." "If you are going out to her ranch call me!" Kevin's rage is almost cute. "Not gonna happen pup." Clint chuckles. "I wouldn't take you out to the desert to feed you to coyotes." He smirks. "One of these days I am gonna wring that neck of yours and then find that dumb little b***h and give her what she has come!" Kevin storms out of the store. "I am assuming it's a lot more than what I have seen happen at the store." I glance back at Clint who is shaking his head. "Oh yeah," he chuckles, relaxing a bit. "It started freshman year I guess. He wanted her to date him. She said no when he tried to manhandle her she socked him in the face knocking him out the first punch." Laughter flowed with his words. "Kevin started bullying Holly and that hot-headed girl shot it right back at him. It's been going on ever since." He shrugged. leaning forward "What happened today?" "He blocked her in, she rolled his truck into the bank and took off," I smirked myself. This Holly chick sounded like me in female form. Another vehicle pulled up, and in walked the Ben I remembered from the visits he had come to jail for me. "Glad to see you made it." Ben walked up to shake my hand. "Thanks," I smiled at him. Ben had always been a good guy to me. "Any trouble?" Ben looked at Clint. "Holly and Kevin," Clint chuckles, "nothing from this fellow." Clint swings his head to me. "Should have guessed she was in town." Ben sighed. "One thing to remember, if you see an auburn-headed girl with freckles and a sour look, turn the other way. That one will never tame. As for the dumb with the lifted diesel, avoid him too." Looking back to Clint, "sheriff blocked the road again to keep him from following her." There was laughter in his voice. "Sheriff protects her?" I lift an eyebrow. "Has to, that is the Mayor's granddaughter." Ben supplies. "Well damn, this town is getting interesting." A Cheshire cat grins spreading ear to ear. "I know your hankering for trouble, but those two should be avoided." Ben shakes his head vigorously. "Oh, I wasn't gonna get in the middle of it." I lift my hands. "but sit and watch with some chips and soda." Laughing at the idea myself. The other two start grinning right along with me. "It does make for interesting conversation." Ben looks back at Clint with a notable glint in his eye. "It was quiet about 6 years, as soon as Holly came back to town, bam Kevin and her went toe to toe," Clint remembered the day like it was fresh. "It was during the upcoming rodeo. She was showing off the horse she brought back from South America. Kevin was with Tara at the time. He had been drinking, started manhandling her. Holly came off that horse so fast. Knocking him to the ground and beating his face to a pulp." Clint eyed Ben. "How many guys did it take to pull her off?" "Three if I remember. I was one of them." He shook his head. "She was seeing red, threw her in the water tank to cool off." "Kevin tried to have her arrested. Not one sheriff dared. Said he was a grown-ass man and needed to fight his own battles." Clint roared with laughter. "Then it started again. He would poke her she would reply, he would get poked back and then get mad." Ben huffed. "At some point, they should try a truce." Clapping his hands together. "Let us get you to your spot and settled. Clint when do you want him?" "I have deliveries starting tomorrow, so 8 am tomorrow works?" Clint looks at me. "Sure thing Sir." saluting him. "Good deal, see you tomorrow."
