Very loud sirens going off in the building…
Val grabbed my hand and tried telling me something but i couldn’t hear him..
he took my hands and softly yanked me motioning for me to stand behind him.. the farthest away from the cell doors… I knew to trusg him.. I away from any hrlp and in a situation that I was completely unfamiliar with and still knew that I could trust him..
Val-
“Lucina stay behind me and try to stay crouched down okay?”
“I’m cuffed but I’ll do my best to protect you from in here with me..”
“Do you know how to defend yourself at all?”
Lucina
“Val why would i need to defend myself?”
Val-
“Lucina that slarm is because there’s active prison riot and they are on lockdown trying to contain everyone.. there’s no guard in here with us and your safety may be in question right now.”
“Tske off your heels just in case.. you can use them if you have too”
“I’ll do what I can to keep you safe I promise..”
The guard-
“Lucina are you okay in there?!”
Lucina-
“I’m fine I promise just secure the situation.”
The guard was wounded and i didn’t see… val did..
Val-
“Lucina the guard is bleeding from his chest.. “
Lucina-
“He’s bleeding?! “
I crawled myself over near the door..
Val-
“Lucina please no i can’t reach you over there with me cuffed like this!”
Lucina-
“I’m not just going to let him die val!!!”
Val-
“Lucina.. he’s gone.. he’s already gone..”
“Just don’t look at his eyes okay don’t..”
I moved him slightly grabbing and unhooking his keys from his belt..
Lucina-
“I’m so so sorry..”
i walked back over to val before pulling out his hands in front of me…
Val-
“Whst are doing?”
Lucina
“I’m nog leaving yoj here defenseless and we are not just going to sit in here while people are getting killed! I don’t have a cell phone to call for help so you know how to defend yourself and now you are uncuffed.. prove to me that i can keep trusting you and your innocence and get us both out of here safely..”
Val-
“You are breaking me out?”
Lucina
“I’m getting us both to safety… it just might take us 1-2 weeks to get “safe”.. now let’s go!”
Vsl-
“Alright just stay behind me and stay close.. “
“Any idea how we are getting passed the front gate and out of the middle of nowhere?”
Lucina-
“I have the guards gate card and i still have the keys tl our rental car in my pocket…”
Val-
“Mm perfect. “
“It’s not going to be easy getting out of lucina so i hope you aren’t too squeamish..”
Lucina-
“Squeamish why would i be squeamish?”
“Oh my god….”
It didn’t take long for me see why he adked… as soon as he guided me around the corner there were bodies scattered every few steps… some guards and others prisoner’s… i did my best not tonlook but i tried to keep myself from tripping.. or slipping in the blood.. I was completely numb and horrifed in that moment and it shocked me that val was just calm and getting us out of there.. it was nothing to him.. at least it looked that way at first.
I made a wrong a wrong move and slid nearly falling onto a lifeless corpse… val caught me pressing my body tight against his.. steadying me and asking me
“Are you okay?”
I just shook my head no.. he didn’t ask anything else because he already knew i wasn’t referring to myself physically.. he just brushed my hair out of my face and said
“We have to get you out of here… come on.”
I saw something move in the corner..
val was walking us towards that way and i realized it was someone laying in wait pretending to be dead…
I yelled suddenly
“Val watchout!”
He turned himself slightly before countering the guy’s weight and moving themselves away from me.. they began a grueling, physical fist to cuffs battle before val had no choice but to snap his neck… he apologized right after and I never understood why… but I was in so much shock I just couldn’t process or feel anything…
Val-
“You’re bleeding… where did you get hit? Did you feed any pain anywhere?”
I just shook my head No because I couldn’t speak..
He tore his shirt wrapping it around my arm.. apparently I had gotten sliced as he shifted me out of the way..
Val-
“It doesn’t need stitches but you’ll need to have ig cleaned out..”
“We have yo lucina… now”
I mindlessly handed him the keys and he escorted me out me out.. driving us to the gate and opening it up.. he got back out of the car just to shut and lock it again.. I didn’t understand that either when there was plenty of guards dead that anyone could grab them off of and escape…
I eventually passed out from either emotional exhaustion or pain maybe but I woke up a while later screaming and freezing out from a nightmare.. it was still daylight and we were pullied off hiding behind a billboard..
val-
“Hey hey it’s okay you are safe.. you passed out and we are just outside Jacksonville… “
“I didnt know where to go or to take us and I didn’t want to wake you up..”
Lucina-
“We nadé it 6 hours away already?”
Val-
“Yeah.. I just don’t know where to go for us to lay low for a bit..”
Lucina-
“Do we have enough gas to get us Tampa?”
“My friend has a vacation confo out there and I know where they keep the keys..”
Val-
“We can make it there.. yeah”
