He undressed himself to his boxers before climbing into shower with me and wrapping me up into his arms..
Val-
“Shhh it’s okay I promise everything will be alright. You are safe with me… just let it out it’s okay i got you…”
I felt him lightly dig his thumb nail into my side…
Val-
“It’ll help balance your emotional/physical awareness..”
I just knodded my head and held him tighter… I decided to grab the soapy washcloth and scrub his back and shoulders for him..
he chuckled slightly before adking me
“What are you doing beautiful?”
I responded
“Since I’m not letting you leave me that long and I don’t want you to let go of me right now I figured I could at least let you or help you clean yourself.”
“You’re covered in blood too..”
Val-
“I know but it washes off beautiful and everything will be fine.. I won’t leave you or let go i promise.. you can help me if you want, thank you.”
After a few minutes I moved to the other side of the shower and turned around so he could fully clean himself in the little privacy i was willing to give him in that moment..
Val-
“Lucina you don’t have to turn yourself away from me.. it doesn’t bother me you being in here.. “
Lucina
“I just wanted to give you some privacy especially since you tried to give me respect with your hand placement and you kept your boxers on..”
Val-
“Thank you. I guess that’s a lot more than anyone else has really given me.. you really do see me as someone that’s innocent don’t you?”
Lucina-
“Your choice in that cell to protect me both physically and emotionally and dvery sction yoj have made since screams to me that you are innocent. You aren’t innocent of having to defrnd yourself or what you’ve gone through in your past or ov various prior assault charges.. but you are innocent of intentionally and violently murderkng that person… you didn’t do it val and I believe that with my gut and my heart.. I just need to help you prove it.. “
Val-
“That’s going to be really hard beautiful.. right now they are probably assuming i started a prison riot, murdered the guard and kidnapped you for leverage or ransom.. unless they are assuming you were an equal participant in the crimes… in which case you’d be considered an accomplice and both of us would have to have our names cleared..”
Lucina-
“If that’s true we can’t stay in one place too loce too long and we can only use cash for everything tight now..”
“I will find a way to help you clear your name.. I promise.”
I was hugging him again.. our naked.. wet bodies pressed tightly together underneath the running water from the shower head…
Val-
“I promise I’ll protect you while you try…”
“Let’s get you dried off and try to find some clothes for you..”
I knodded again before grabbing my towel and going into the bedroom..
“The closet iz over there.. my friends husband should have something in the closet that’ll fit you too..”
Val-
“Do you want a tshirt to sleep in or?”
I knodded again
Val-
“Uh here i grabbed some um girl’s underwear too for you..”
Lucina
“Thank you.”
On either side of the bed both of with our backs turned were redressing ourselves as if we hadn’t just been naked and showering together.. traumatic events are so contradictory and yet somehow i had never felt closer or more familiar to anyone… it was different and comfortable..
Both of us now in bed and me back into the security of his arms.. he held me close after tucking me under the blankets.. I remembered him saying about needing balance after being in shovk.. he had been doing it for me but he didn’t have anything for himself..
“Can i do something?”
Val-
“Do what beautiful?”
I lifted myself up on my elbow slightly andtilted my head up to kiss his lips softly..
“That…”
“You helped me all night.. but you didn’t have anything for yourself..”
Val-
“You didn’t have to fo that for me lucina.. but thank you.. “
A single tear was running from eye and i took my thumb swiping it away before i kissed his lips once more and laid next back down against his chest..”
Val-
“Goodnight beautiful..”
Lucina-
“Goodnight val”
“Thank you for saving me…”
Val-
“Always..”
He pulled me closer and tucked his face into my neck and both of exhsusted.. finally drifted to sleep..
