The voice on the phone
“Uh hey you must be Cc right? I’m Val’s friend Marco is he around right now?”
“No he stepped out a little while ago.. he said he may have had a lead on someone that was involved with everything that’s going on..”
“You said your name is marco right? I can take down your number and have hkm call you once he gets back if you need me to?”
I heard the shower shut off a few seconds ago.. i anticipated him coming out and was hoping he could read ques to be quiet.. thankfully he was still very in sync with me..
The voice on the phone
“Yeah no problem my number is 876-477-5907
I’m his friend Marco.”
I turn to look him in the eyes
“Okay just to read this back so i have the right number you said your name is Marco and it’s 876-477-5907 right?”
The voice on the phone
“Yeah all of that is right Cc.”
I wasnt sure why val was smiling
Val-
“Haha I’m super proud of you beautiful but it’s okay you can give me the phony marco is my friend that hooked up with everything here. He’s the only person with the number so you were awesome to question everything.”
“Hey Marco what’s up?”
“She was just looking out that’s all i was in the shower.”
The voice on the phone
“Alright no problem it’s good to see you here smart backup this time. I just wanted to let you know i fed back to some people thatthe girl you escaped with was discarded somewhere on i-90 over a day ago just like you asked.. “
“Dude who is this girl and why would you hang another murder accusation on you just to clear her name?”
Val-
“She believed in when noone else did and she was more willing anybody to risk her own life breaking me out of there instead of letting me get killed cuffed to that table. Her safety is important to me just as much as her reputation being protected from any of this bullshit. She doesn’t need her life ruined or taken as a result of her trying to clear me and if i have any say about it none of thst is going to happen.”
The voice on the phone
“Dude your involved involved with this girl aint you? Is she somebody you know from the outside?”

i stepped closer beside him and touched his arm because my instincts were causing me to worry about him. He looked down at my face and lifted his arm to wrap around me.*

“something like that haha etails but the details aren’t important right now. thank you for handling that for and for looking out and you take care of yourself out here too alright!”
“I’ll call you in a few days after we catch our flight outta here.”
The voice on the phone
“Alright man hace a good time in Costa Rica it’s a great vacation spot and the perfect spot to lay low. Make sure you lock up at Aunties old house too she’s gonna flip in her grave if you leave her s**t open or dirty!”
