The Forbidden Reality

Taliea's POV It was a busy day in the hospital, beastmode nanaman ang chief resident namin. Hindi ko alam do'n palibhasa matandang dalaga kaya parang everyday ang menopausal sakanya. That's why I swear to myself that I will find a man who will love me sincerely....para hindi ako beastmode tulad ni Doc. Garcia. Well anyways, ayoko na muna isipin 'yon ngayon kasi ang pinaka-main goal ko ngayon ay ang maging Doktor. Even if being a physician is only a second choice of mine, I got used to it already. Nakikita ko na din sarili ko bilang isang magaling na Surgeon in the future, we never know what the future brings but I'm already sure about this. Being a med student is the toughest years that I experienced in my life. Hindi naman kasi ako ganoon katalino. I'm creative, madalas siguro ginagamit ko 'yong left side of the brain ko. Eh sa mga doctors yata puro right, higit pa sa isang dangkal ang mga librong kailangan kong memoryahan. Mapupunta nalang sa punto na iiyakan ko nalang mga binabasa ko kasi wala na talagang pumapasok sa utak ko. Pero ganon pa man, naka-graduate pa rin ako at tignan niyo ngayon, papunta na ako sa pangarap ng magulang ko para sakin. I went out of the O.P. so I can fix my things and go home. I'm so exhausted, gusto ko nalang humiga. "Doc. Luna," he smiled at me, "Ang ganda mo talaga." Ew. Manyak. "Have you eaten your lunch?"  Ang kulit. This is Doctor Alfred Martinez, one of the best surgeons in the country. He is the son of the Anthony Martinez, the owner of our hospital. Ever since I got here, he's always asking me out. Partida may asawa na 'to at pa-silver na sila, gagawin pa akong kabit ng galgok na 'to.  I walked straightly in the empty hallway yet he is still following me "What do you want, doc?" I ask as I cross my arms, "I still have a meeting with Doktora Martinez." He chuckled, "You mean my sister-in-law?" I sighed. He went closer to me.  "You know what I want Taliea," he whispered in my ear, "I like a woman who plays it hard."  He chuckled as he walks away. Damn that bastard. I tightened my grip. Ginawa ko na ngang palusot si Mrs. Martinez para layuan niya ako pero wala talaga siyang takot.  After a long shift, I went home. Mayroon naman akong condo pero request kasi ni Mommy na during weekend, dapat umuwi ako. Hindi na rin kasi sila okay ni Daddy, lagi na silang nag-aaway.  Ever since I was a child, I usually encounter how they fight. Umaabot na sa pisikalan hanggang ngayon, lagi kong pinipilit si Mommy na sumama nalang sakin pero hindi niya daw kayang iwan ang Daddy. Simula palang daw nung una, hindi na minahal ni Daddy si Mommy. Pinilit lang daw silang ikasal para sa kumpanya. Well, the usual arrangement thing that I don't want to experience. Ever. My parents' parents accomplished what they want, our company become successful that's why they were able to send me to the most famous medical university in the Philippines.  Naging successful ang kumpanya, naging punching bag naman ang nanay ko. Pagpasok ko ng bahay, nadatnan ko si Mommy na nakaupo sa sala hbang nagbabasa ng libro. Seryoso siyang nagbabasa kaya hindi niya siguro namalayan na dumating ako. Napatingin ako sa paligid, bagong ayos nanaman ang bahay. Naging hobby talaga ni Momy ang mag-ayos since wala narin naman siyang trabaho. Dati madami siyang pinagkakaabalahan lalo na nung dito pa ako nakatira nung nag-aaral pa ako. Si daddy ang nagpumilit na mag-condo nalang ako since malapit naman daw 'yon sa ospital na pinagtatrabahuhan ko. "Eli, anak," she called me, "I'm so glad you're home."  I can see the warm smile she has on her face, bihira lang ngumiti si mommy at nangyayare lang 'yon tuwing umuuwi ako. She went closer to me and then she kissed my cheeck, "Kumain ka na ba? I'll cook for you, anak." she asked excitingly. I examine her face and saw a bruise behind her left eye, I slowly cupped her face and a tear escaped her eye. "This is not right—" "Shh," she cut me off, "Parang hindi ka na nasanay sa anger issues ng Papa mo." My mom said calmly which triggered me more. 25 f*****g years and she still have the patience to tolerate my father? Ganon ba talaga ang love? You'll stay even if he's a rose full of torns? "Stop normalizing what is wrong, Ma." I took a heavy sigh, "Do you think that I don't have a feelings? Nahihirapan na din akong tiisin mga pinang gagawa sa'yo ni Daddy." She sat down and burst into tears, "You know how I wanted to fight, but I can't escape his reality. Kinukulong niya ako, anak, alam mo 'yan." Hindi ko na rin mapigilang hindi maluha. Saktan niyo na lahat 'wag lang ang Mama ko.  I don't know how my Father swallow this kind of situation? I don't know how he handles his emotions.  "Do you love him?"  She nodded, "I love your father so much," she sniffs, "But you're right, anak. We need to fight on what is right. It's time to escape this reality." I smiled and immediately fished my phone on my pocket. I'm finding the right contact to call... And finally, there he is..... With only a few rings, he answered the call. "Hello, doctor Luna?' "Doc. Lacson. Good afternoon. Let's get straight to business, you said you have a cousin who is a lawyer?" I asked. "Not just a lawyer, doc. He is a topnotch in the 2014 bar exams." "Give me his name and contact." "Attorney Matthew Gabriel Lacson, I'll send you the details." "Thank you."
