Loise could no longer resist, so she finally got into the car. Both of them remained silent, carefully gauging each other’s mood as the vehicle moved through the city streets. Loise looked at Sonata’s serious face and she had been caught off guard earlier to see his hair neatly trimmed, far from the long locks she was used to. His beard and mustache were gone too, making him look even more handsome than before.
“Why are you here, Sonata?” she asked, her voice tight.
“Kailangan pa ba talagang itanong iyan?” he replied without looking at her.
She furrowed her brows at his response. “Of course it does! Didn’t I tell you to stay away from me?”
She watched as his Adam’s apple bobbed, but he said nothing. Irritated,
