Chapter 2: Hidden Surprise.

I can feel a glare land on me from across the room from Aiden's eyes with the new rule being put into place. I stand up and head towards the hall leading towards the Arena. It has been quite a while, but I knew the arena would be as close to a forest as possible. The four names called appeared a few minutes later in the arena. Alpha looked at us expectantly with a smile and said, "I know its early, but I am eager to see what each of you will be capable of when you shift." I nod at Alpha, and he continues on to say "My young shifters I am needing to add to the ranks of the higher up wolves, so starting now you will train regardless of current status. Please work hard and you will be well rewarded." Now I was intrigued as I had never heard of this before. Alpha looked at us with our shocked faces and chuckled saying "I am looking to change things up with our status issues that have seemed to come up due to being stuck here so without further ado, Beta Charlie I will go turn on the Lunar Lamp, please assist in the shifting please." He walked away as Beta Charlie, a middle aged, tanned werewolf with sandy hair and black eyes came into view. "Alright pups, when Alpha Braden turns on the Lunar Lamp please stay as far apart as possible, your wolves will awaken with the light so please be aware you will feel like your body is on fire and will want to scratch away your skin but please refrain from doing so." We all move away from each other to give space as Beta Charlie sets out black collars with our names on them. I look at him with a total WTF moment and he chuckle saying "These are tracking collars you need to put them on because your Wolves will take over and want to run anywhere it can. This is why we came to the arena. Also, if you have a mate here your mate may try to take you by force, so this is to help protect you as well." I shivered and looked at Aiden with fear as his eyes shifted to me in an odd way. Mia shifted uncomfortably and put on her collar as did I. "Now these collars will grow with you and will show where you are in the bunker at all times. If your mate is among the shifted wolves not here, they will feel you and come. Now when you start shifting, I will assist you in any way that I can, so let's begin." The 50-acre forest arena turned dark except for a few emergency lights and windows containing pack members from the viewing platforms. Suddenly a bright light shifted on causing a sharp pain the slowly spread through me. Fire that seemed to burn through me and with time it slowly continued to worsen. I gripped my head as a screaming wolf came into my mind's eye. She was a brilliant white with amethyst eyes, she seemed huge even by alpha wolf standards, and had a beautiful purple cross with a diamond on her forehead. "Finally, it is good to meet you Elena, I am Crystal, your wolf. I will do what I can to calm your pain, but when you shift you need to run and hide. Your mate will try to take you by force. When we hide from your mate, I will train you to defend against even an Alpha so please bear with me." I smile at my wolf for a moment and return to reality as the shifting of bones breaks through in a Firey pain cataclysm. Suddenly as soon as the pain came it was gone and I opened my eyes to see white paws and the others were still shifting. I stood up unsteady gaining my footing as I tested each foot to see surprise from Beta Charlie. From him I looked at the shocked faces of my pack members and remembered Crystal's warning. I look to see Aiden shifting slowly into a black wolf and booked it as fast as I could. With much surprise I felt free while knowing the danger I was in. 'Crystal where should we hide?' She stayed quite for a moment and replied, 'Elena hurry to the waterfall to the North of us.' Without much effort I sped my way towards the Waterfall that shimmered from the Lunar Lamp and found a cave behind it with soft green cave moss. If you didn't look carefully, you would never know it was there. I quieted my panting I failed to notice and laid down a satisfied smile to myself. I knew it would be a few hours before anyone would find me unless they used the collars, so I enjoyed my hiding spot and fell into a pleasant rest. I opened my mind's eye to see I was in a memory of my forest and saw Crystal standing in front of me. 'Elena we are safe for now, so I will train you now' I smiled at her with earnest happiness. 'Let's begin, Elena we are a special wolf created by Selene the Moon Goddess. We can control earth, air, fire, water, and spirit. In your world the way it is now, we are protected from the radiation, and can cure those affected by the bombs. It will cause you to be tired, but you won't feel any pain to help those who need it. If you need to you can also teleport to anywhere in the world without recourse. We have no legend in any wolf histories as Selene made us to cure the world from harm. As for your mate, he will need to prove he is worthy. I will not take a wolf who wants to reject us as a mate.' She smiled a wolfy grin knowing the relief I felt. 'Now when the time comes, you can choose him or someone else as you please. Selene will reassign our mate bond as we see fit. In this world I wish for us to obtain a mate as sweet as you. Also Alpha Brayden knows that you are above him in status so as such you will be the next alpha of the pack. So let's get started shall we' with a nod towards me we began a long and exhausting training.
