My stepmother annoys me

The ray of light from outside woke me up in the morning. I stood up sluggishly to get ready for the day. I was searching through my wardrobe for what to wear today when Linda entered my room.

"Good morning, my lady, how was your night?"

"It was nice, thanks for asking"

"I will go prepare your bath," She said as she went into the bathroom.

I was checking out my dresses when it occurred to me that I haven't done my assignment, oh no not again. Mrs. Ava is not nice with an undone assignment. She is going to punish me, I just hope I can endure the punishment.

"My lady your bath is ready "

"Thank you "

"Mrs. Ava said she may not be able to come for few days and she will be sending a substitute tutor."

"Oh! really she does know when not to come ".

I said gladly as there was no punishment today because the last time she gave me a punishment did not end up well she made me clean almost the whole house it was exhausting.

" Why are you so happy, my lady I guess you didn't do your homework".

"You guessed right, let me go take my bath before it gets cold," I rushed to the bathroom so happy.

I came out of the bathroom a few minutes later, Linda was still in my room to tidy up my room.

"Linda, can you help bring my breakfast to my room, I don't want to eat with the rest".

" No problem I will help with that".

"Thank you" she went out to get my food and I got dressed.

I just hope the sub-tutor is nice.

I waited in my room for Linda to bring my food for me. I was already getting hungry and she was taking forever, I stepped out for you while to see what was delaying her then I saw my stepmother was denouncing the maids for what reason now. Gosh, this woman was passing her boundaries.

I went back to my room to wait patiently for Linda.

It's been a few minutes ago and Linda is not yet here. I packed my stuff for the lesson and went to the garden to wait for my sub-tutor. My stomach was getting in the way. I planned to ignore it throughout my lesson.

I was just going through the history books when I felt someone coming towards me.

"You must be Leonora I presume "

Is this my sub tutor, he looks stunning, Mrs. Ava made the right choice.

"Hello, Miss are you Leonora ?"

I forgot he was talking to me

"Woah, when I read about them in books I thought they were just fantasies, that's interesting".

"People think they do not exist because they do not tell anyone about them it's only two percent of the world's population has seen one".

"I want to see one because of how the writers say how handsome and beautiful they look.

" We are diverting, let's continue"

He kept talking about immortals for the rest of the class. He has a boring expression compared to his look. He has not even made any jokes. This class is boring compared to Mrs. Ava's

"Do you get it all"

"Yes of course that was interesting " I lied because I did not listen to him this whole time and I felt hungry the more, is Linda doing this on purpose.

"Are you sure you got everything because your face is telling me a different thing, I can see your mind is not here" How did he find out, I probably made it too obvious.

"I am serious, I was attentive throughout the class". J just hope he does not ask me any questions

"Um, you said... " I stopped not knowing what to say and my stomach growled so loud and I am sure he could hear

I was feeling so embarrassed as I responded.

"No, I have not had breakfast"

"You should pack your stuff and leave because I am not coming back " He is something.

I went to the maid's quarters to call Lydia.

"Lydia, why didn't you bring my food into my room,"

She stood up hurriedly as she came closer to me.

"I am very sorry my lady, your stepmother told me not to take any food to you unless you are eaten it in the dining room".

" But why, did she tell you the reason for that"

"No, she just gave me orders"

I massaged my temples with my index and thumb. She woman is getting on my nerves

"Just serve my food in the dining now, I am starving".

" Yes, I will do that now". She said as she bowed and left.

Why, is she doing this she can't just come from nowhere and just control my life. I don't have the energy to deal with anything now I just want to eat. That Alex guy kept blabbing about immortal for close to three hours, it's now noon, and I haven't taken anything in. Lydia came in with food, I was readily salivating, I need to get it to my stomach as soon as possible. She dropped the food and I munched it as fast I could go.

"You must be hungry my lady "

I nodded as I couldn't talk because of the food in my mouth.

I finished my food and Lydia helped in packing the plates.

I walked up the stairs lazily and thought I should see Olivia, I have not seen her today. I knocked on her door and waited for a while for her response.

"Who's there?"

"It's Leo, Olive"

"Come in"

"Hey, are you not supposed to be with your tutor now," I asked her as she just laid down on her bed talking to her door. Olive recently started receiving lessons when she was five a few months ago, that's the way it has been in my family.

"Yes, I am on break I will go back in few minutes"

"Ok, that's great, are you okay?" I asked because she had a sad look

"No, how can I be, that woman that my dad is always taking her side took all my toys away saying I have too many toys that I should focus more on my education, and dad said nothing about it".

"She did that, how could she?"

"Leo, who is she? mom kept avoiding my question any time I asked her"

"You will know who she is sooner, ok, don't worry about that "

"What about my toys?, will I get that soon too?"

"Yes, don't worry you will get that soon" I smiled to assure her patting her head. Is that not seeing that his new wife is about to destroy his family. This is getting worse, she just wants to annoy everyone.

"I should be on my way, bye Olive".

"Bye," she waved her hands as I left her room
