chapter 13

Nicks pov 

Elle - lets do this. 

After reading this I am so confused lets do what, does she mean be together, my heart skips a beat thinking of us being together again. 

Me - Elle are you sure? I want this so badly. 

Elle - You want my mum and James together? And yes I'm sure I want her to be happy and James has always treated me kindly. What do you say you want to help me?

It feels like taking a punch to the gut I thought she wanted us to be together not to hook her mum and James up. 

Me - Yeah I really want them together I think they really suit each other. How about we meet tomorrow after school and plan this out yeah? 

Elle - A can't tomorrow me and Brax are going out, how about Thursday after school we 'accidently' bump into each other in a coffee shop or something and introduce them? 

Me - Yeah that could work. No harming in trying. I'll see you tomorrow at school. 

Elle - Yeah that's if you don't leave again. 

Me - I'm shocked you noticed anything other than the new kid. 

Elle - His names Brax, goodnight Nick. 

Me - Good night beautiful 

Well It's not what I wanted but at least this way I get to spend some time alone with her. I need to see how she feels about the new guy and if I have really lost her. Maybe this is my chance to win her back.

Another school day comes by so quickly. I see Elle and the new guy walking in the hall way laughing together. I walk up beside Elle. "Morning guys" I say in a fake happy tone. "Morning Nick" Elle says, "Hi, I'm Brax" He introduces himself to me . "Oh hi your the new guy from America right?" 

"Nick what do you want?" Elle asks. "Just to see if we are still on for tomorrow after school." I give Brax a smug look and he just grins back at me, he puts his arm around Elle and I just want to punch him, who does he think he is. "Cool you guys going on a date tomorrow?" He asks. "No were setting up my mum and his driver." Elle tells him. "Ohhh a driver, how fancy" He sarcastically says. I ball my fists up ready to hit him. "Well we better go" Elle says. "Nicky...." I hear her calling me. "What are you doing with these losers again. Anyway I saw the flier why didn't you tell me we were throwing a party Friday night" I turn to her confusion on my face. "WE aren't me, Finn and Dave are" I tell her firmly. "Wait them losers from your wood shop class." I nod yes to her. "Baby they are losers don't you want to be king of the school with me by your side." I look back at Elle "No, You know that isn't what I want." I see her face drop and she stands their sulking. "Anyway Elle do you want to come to my party Friday night." I feel her grab my arm pulling me into her "Are you seriously inviting this fat loser to your party, if she comes there wont be any food left or gusts there." She chuckles a little at her own comment. "It's ok Nick you don't have to invite me" I see the hurt in her eyes from Alicia's comment. "Actually I do, I'm only allowed this party if I invite you, my dads words. Besides your the only person I care about turning up" I see her face light up a little

"Only if Brax comes with me, I haven't ever been to a party before" she tell us shyly. "That's ok I haven't ever been to an English party before we can have our first time together" He tells her in his deep voice. Is he kidding me. Although Elle is taking it innocently I know what he is really insinuating, he wants to take her virginity. Over my dead body. "That would be just... great having you both there" I say through gritted teeth. Brax and Elle walk past and I just watch. "They really suit each other" Alicia says. I head to class where I have to watch Elle and Brax flirting. I hate this guy so much. 

We finally get to lunch and my party is the talk of the school, I see Elle and Brax eating lunch together, Mark walks up to her and tips a cup of pills on her. I'm assuming their paracetamol or something. people start laughing and making fun of her I stand up but before I can get to her Brax is already hitting him knocking him to the floor. He stands up picking up their lunches and takes Elle's hand leading her to a different table where they carry on enjoying their lunch. People just gawk at them and honestly as much as I hate the guy he looks out for her and protects her and for that I'm thankful. Everyone starts whispering about the new kid kicking Marks arse. I wonder where he leant to fight. 

Elles pov 

After moving tables we carry on eating as much as I want to run away he wont let me, he is all about facing your fears to my surprise no one is talking about me they are all gossiping about Brax kicking the s**t out of Mark. "Brax where did you learn to fight like that" I question. "I've been doing MMA since I was 6 years old. My dad walked out on me when I was 5 and I had all this pent up anger inside of me, a friend of my mum's told her martial arts is really good for angry kids as we get to take our anger out in a controlled environment it also teaches us respect and discipline" I can't help but be mesmerised by him, he really is good looking, if I wasn't so hung up on Nick I would probably fancy Brax. "I'm sorry about your dad Brax, believe it or not I know how you feel, seems you and me have a lot in common." I tell him. "You have no idea" He says making me wonder what he meant by that. 

We finally make it to the end of the day and I'm really excited to show Brax around. I wait for Brax by the stairs at the entrance of the school as he's just gone to the toilet. "Oi fatty this is our spot, move" I hear Izzy yell at me, she shoves me and I knock into the brick wall behind me, I begin to move when I feel Brax's presence beside me. "Don't you dare touch her again or you'll regret it" He says firmly. "Oh yeah and what are you going to do huh? You going to hit me, your going to hit a girl." She laughs out "Holy s**t your a girl, don't girls normally have t**s and some sort of feminine features." Brax bursts out laughing which causes me to laugh. The anger coming off of Izzy is unreal. If looks could kill, she charges at me and I close my eyes expecting to get punched but nothing happens. I see Brax standing in front of me holding her first in his large hand. "I told you, you'll regret it." He whispers but loud enough for me to hear. He pushes her hand with some force and she falls down on her arse. some students that are hanging around are laughing and gasping. I'm just in full shock. He takes my hand and we start walking. "So what are our plans today" He casually asks me. I pull us to a halt and throw my arms around him. "Brax thank you." We pull apart and smile at each other. "Ellie, you know you don't have to take their s**t right. Let me train you please, then you will be able to defend yourself" He seems so excited. I think it over. "Yeah. Ok, lets do it" We carry on walking, he tells me training is everyday after school for an an hour and at the weekends. Oh god what have I got myself into. 

Later that night me and Brax are getting dinner, I have shown him around so he knows where most things are, he was really happy to find out we only lived 30 seconds away I think I am going to have a permanent house guest. "So what's the deal with you and Nick, I want all the details" 

"Ok.. Ok... Well we got really close from the moment he started the school. He was really nice and kind to me always defending me. He even broke Mark's nose protecting me, the guy you punched up at lunch, he always helps me in class, we had so much fun going to the beach and shopping and stuff, he is also the first guy to call me beautiful, every time he complemented me my heart would turn to mush, he never gave up on me, no matter how many times I told him I didn't want to be his friend but he broke my walls and I trusted him. He is also my first kiss and the first guy to tell me he loves me. He is also the first guy I said 'I love you' to I told him all my secrets but it was all just fake, he dumps me and has been with Alicia for over a month. It kills me everyday to see them together. I honestly thought we were going to get back together but the other day we were walking to class and Alicia called us out and he just stood their silent and let her talk s**t to me. I don't get it, this is also the same guy who poured a bottle of coke on her cause she threw something at me. I just don't know what to do." I look down at my plate I know I've ruined our day out with all this Nick talk. 

"You know there is something we could do, we could fake date and make him jealous guys always want what they can't have" I look at him contemplating his words. "Me and you dating... Would you even want to do that, it may ruin our friendship?" He takes my hand. "No it wont ruin our friendship and I bet he comes crawling back to you" He winks at me. "Ok we can try it, I have nothing else to lose, well except you." "That wont happen" he tell me firmly. We finish our meals and walk back to my house, "Do you wanna watch a film it's still pretty early unless you need to get home?" I ask him while we stand on my doorstep. "No I'm in no hurry I told my mum I was out with you so she knows. What we going to watch" I lead us into the living room and let him go throw the DVD's "What about Die Hard" I nod in agreement, I head into the kitchen getting us drinks and snacks. 

"What are you doing" I ask as I watch him taking selfies of us. "Making dear lover-boy jealous. He uploads it to i********: "Do you have an account" I shake my head no. "WHAT. Everyone is on i********:, Lets make you an account, stand up and I will take some pictures of you for your profile" I think he senses my uneasiness "You look beautiful Ellie and your figure is incredible." I smile and stand up letting him take a few photos of me. He sets me up an account and tags me in the photos he took of us with the caption. "Movie night with bae." All I can think is what does bae mean, but I don't want to look stupid. I play around on this i********: and eventually come across Nicks account, I snoop around and see in all the pictures of him how unhappy he looks, he's been spotted at parties and other social outings with Alicia and he looks miserable. I automatically feel bad for him and turn my phone off carrying on watching the film. 

Nick - Seriously your dating him now he's only been at the school for 2 days. 

I show Brax the text from Nick and he laughs "See told you jealousy." He takes my phone and sends him a reply. 

Me - I can't wait around forever on someone that isn't interested. Besides Brax is super sexy. 

I read the message and playfully slap his arm, "Super sexy huh" and he laughs. "Hey you only speak the truth." We laugh and carry on watching the film. After the film he gets up to leave "Thank you Ellie for showing me around and being my friend. I'll be here in the morning and we can walk to school together, that's what good boyfriends do" He winks and leaves making me role my eyes at him. I head upstairs and get myself ready for bed.
