chapter 20

Nicks pov 

It was a tough week seeing Elle and Brax together. I tried to speak to her but she always seemed to dodge me. Lucky for me I found out were doing partner assignments in English so I begged the teacher to partner me up with Elle. Luckily she agreed she's kind of on my side after I explained the whole black ail ordeal. She likes me and Elle together. When the teacher announced our partners I couldn't help but smile from ear to ear, she on the other hand didn't looked pleased.  

I've been talking to Kylie about my plan to get rid of Brax but she doesn't agree with me. She told me if I truly loved Elle I would let her be happy, even if it isn't with me. It's easier said than done when I have to watch him all over her every day at school and they practically live on top of each other so they are always together. It just makes me want to send him back to America. I decided to try and be the bigger person, expect for begging to be Elle's partner, I needed some way of getting alone time with her. Show her I'm the man for her. 

The night we had dinner together played on my mind all night, she really is happy with him. I want her to be happy but I love her, I loved her first and she does love me but she thinks I've changed. I need to show her I'm still the same old Nick. The guy that protected her, was there for her. I need someway of showing her that side of me again but it's harder with Brax always hanging around. 

I wake up ready for the day ahead of me it's Saturday and I'm spending the whole day with Elle. I couldn't be happier I get up and make myself look extra good for her. I make my way over to Elle's and knock on the door it's about 9am so I'm hoping she's up. "Nick" I here her mum says as she opens the door. She's dressed in her work uniform so I'm guessing she's off to work. "Moring Miss Jones how are you?" I ask. "I'm good thank you how are you?" She responds. "Very well thank you" 

"Elle's upstairs asleep, good luck waking her. I will see you guys soon" She says as she walks out the door giving me a warm smile. I close the door behind me as I make my way in to their house. I climb upstairs heading for Elle's room. I creek the door open quietly I don't want to wake her. She looks beautiful as she just lays there fast asleep. I look around her room remembering the last time I was here. nothing seems to of changed expect for a photo of her and Brax on her dresser. I hate the way they are smiling together. I put the frame down face first so I don't have too look at it. I go lay on her bed carefully not to wake her. She moves around and ends up throwing her arms over my waist. I gently put my arm around her and pull her closer to me. She rests her head on my chest and this just feels right. This is how we should spend the rest of our lives. 

About half hour later Elle starts stirring I can't be to sure but I'm almost certain she moaned out my name. The thought starts turning me on and I would do anything to kiss her right now. Her eyes flutter open and focus on me. She smiles at me but only for a second till she jumps up. "Nick what the hell" She screams at me. She climbs off the bed standing there in her shorts and strap top. I lick my lips as I look her up and down making her storm over putting her dressing gown on. "Nick what are you doing in my bed" She demands. "Well I came over to do our assignment but you were asleep and I didn't want to wake you. Besides you were more than happy cuddling me" I say with a hint of amusement in my voice. "Yeah well that's because I thought you were Brax" She gives me a devilish smirk. Her words cut me deep but I shrug it off not want to let her know just how much that hurt me. "So shall we get going" I ask changing the subject. "Well as soon as you leave and let me get changed." 

"I don't mind" I smile at her making her role her eyes. "Are you going to leave?" She sighs out and I shake my head no. She removes her dressing gown making me gulp in anticipation. She turns her back to me and slides her top down her arms, I know she's doing this slowly and sexily on purpose but I take the bait, I watch as her top hits the floor revealing her back to me, she slightly turns to the side grabbing her bra and I can see a the outline of her chest. My d**k instantly gets hard, she puts her bra on and then pulls her shorts down showing me her perfect ass. I bite the inside of my cheek to supress my moan. she pulls on some little boy short pants and then covers herself up with jeans and a top. Once she's dressed she turns to me with a mischievous grin on her face. I shove my hands in my pockets trying to re-adjust this hard on she's given me. "That was cruel" I tell her while she grabs her phone. "I don't know what your talking about. Shall we go?" She says walking out the door, I follow her down the stairs and she grabs her jacket. I lean against her banister watching her. "Lets go." She says and I shake my head no. "You need to have breakfast before we go." I tell her. I still worried about her and I don't want her getting ill again. She sighs but grabs an apple and we leave. 

The day goes by too fast. We walked around town, had lunch, went punting on the river. I don't think we did anything relatable to the assignment. It felt like a date, not that I would tell her that. We get back to hers and it's pretty late. She invites me in and we sit on the sofa watching telly. "I had a lot of fun to day." She tells me making me smile at her. "Me too." I whisper lowly. Were in the middle of the film when her door opens and in walks Brax. We both turn our head in his direction and he just smiles at Elle. She stands up and walks to him, it takes all my will power not to pull her back to me. I sit there as I watch them take each other in there embraces. Urg this should be me and her. "Hi Babe, you ok" He asks then kisses her lips. "Yeah thank you. You ok?" She asks. "I am now I get to see your beautiful face" I just want to punch him. She turns back and I can see she's blushing from his comment. He sits down and pulls her on his lap causing her to giggle. "Hey Nick, didn't realise you would still be here" Brax says to me. "Oh yeah well Elle invited me in." I smugly say. "Guys" She says sternly I look at her and my pissed off facial expression softens. "Brax I thought you were with Tori today?" She asks him running her hand along his chest. I stiffen in my seat as she does this. Stay clam Nick. You will never gain her trust or win her back if you beat him. 

"Yeah she had to pop home for half hour to help me mum she will be back soon so I thought I would see how my beautiful girlfriend was." She winks at her but subtlety sends me a glare. I swear this dude is asking to get his ass kicked. "Your so sweet" She smiles at him. "What are your plans for tonight?" He asks her. "Well me and Nick are just hanging out starting this assignment I guess. Why what you got planned?" She asks him. "Well I haven't seen you properly in a couple of days fancy doing something tonight" He asks. Breath Nick. I remind myself. "I can't I don't know what time me and Nick will get done." I smile to myself, I wonder if she realises she just blew her boyfriend off to be with me. I slyly look at him and he doesn't look to pleased but he doesn't push it. Maybe just maybe he isn't this perfect guy he pretends to be. I could use this to my advantage. Get them into a huge fight and she will come running back to me. After 15 more minutes of having to endure them laughing and kissing hiss phone goes Tori is at his house so he heads off, but not before giving her a long deep kiss right in front of me. I will get him back for this. 

She comes and sits beside me again and we finish the film, I want to ask her about this but if I do it now with my mood I may explode and say stuff I will defiantly regret. "Well that was a good film, shall we go upstairs and have a look at starting this project, I know it's early but it may be easier writing together so we can ask each other questions if we need to." I nod in agreement. "Are you hungry?" I ask following her up the stairs, I cant help but stare at her, Those legs, that ass. "Yeah, I could eat" She mumbles out. I pull out my phone ringing for a pizza. We sit on her bed and she grabs her a pen and pad for the two of us. "Here" She says passing it to me. "So we have to write a story about each other, and we agreed on a romance novel." She mutters to herself looking over the assignment sheet. I chuckle to myself causing her to look up at me, She has the end of her pen running along her bottom lip. Great now I'm jealous of a f*****g pen, what happened to the bad boy womanising player Nick Marshal I wonder to myself. "You ok?" She asks pulling me out of my thoughts. "Yeah sorry, so the assignment, are we having a happily ever after?" I ask, there's a double meaning behind this, being that I want to know if we will get back together and I don't know if she's picked up on it. "I really don't know. What do you think?" She says looking down slightly. Maybe she did pick up on it. "I want nothing more than for there to be a happily ever after. Every princess needs their prince." I sigh out. We start the assignment and our pizza comes. We stop working while we eating laughing about things that happened at school. 

I look at the time, wow how did it get to be 11 o'clock. "Wow Elle, time flies when your having fun." She looks up at me confused. "It's 11 o'clock." She glances at the time on her phone. "Shit." we both laugh. I get my stuff and we both walk down the stairs she leads me to the door. "Thanks I had a really good time tonight. kinda like old times" I tell her nervously. Her face drops and a small frown forms, I see her eyes begin to she opens her mouth to talk but no words come out she gives me a small nod. I step closer to her wiping away the stray tear falling down her cheek with my thump. I feel her shiver under my touch, her breath hitches in the throat and I know me being this close affects her. "Why are you crying beautiful?" I whisper softly to her. She moves away opening the door. I frown as I leave. I call Kylie and ask her to pick me up as I know its super later for James. 

I look back at her house while I wait for kylie I see her discreetly looking at me through the window. It makes me laugh that she thinks I cant see her. Kylie pulls up and I wave at Elle making her shut the curtain and me laughing hard.
