FORGIVENESS

Forgiveness can mean letting go of the bad things someone has done to you. But if you say you forgive person, and you hang on to the anger, the pain and the hurt. Then you say you forgave the person then you don't understand what forgiveness really means. Forgiveness is not for that person it's for you, because when you forgive a person you make peace with your heart, because you let go of the pain and anger. I believe that not forgiving without forgetting or letting go of the anger and pain, is letting yourself to be controlled by the offender. For you to truly forgive someone you must forgive and forget. Forgiving someone can be easily done but the hard part is to forget. Forgetting relieves you and sets you free from being a slave of the offender. The best solution to let go of the anger and pain the offender has caused to you is to forget, no matter how much damage the offender has done. You have to remember that you have once been an offender as well and maybe in the future you will be an offender, therefore you have try to put yourself in your offenders shoes, then how would you feel if you were hated and not forgiven. Matthew 6:14 a chapter in the bible teaches us that, if you have forgiven someone and the wrongs he or she has done, your father in heaven will also forgive you. The golden rule states that we must do unto others as we would want them to do unto us. If we want God and others to forgive us we must first learn to forgive others.
