The next morning was beautiful. Tarick was still sleeping next to me causing me to smile. When I got better to the point I wouldn’t wake in sweats there Mom let Tarick stay with me for comfort. Andrew and Jason would have to go to the castle sometimes leaving me alone in the house. Tarick would keep me comfort in those times. Mom was always there to. She use to sit in the room doing multiple things. It was nice.
I slowly got up and stretched before heading to my closet. I quickly got changed into work out items before heading back to the bed. I sat beside Tarick waiting for him to wake. Course it took forever allowing me to read some of my new books. Mom let me buy some books on kingdoms and how they are run as well as a few self-defence books. I bought them just in case no one would teach me. I mean I have learned off books before how hard could self defense be.
“Morning Avery.”
“Morning Tarick.” I said from where I sat in the window. I migrated there after a few minutes of being on the bed. Tarick wanted me off as he kept pushing me so I came to the window.
“Did they not bring breakfast yet.” He asked leaning up and rubbing his eyes.
“No,” I smiled closing my book leaving my finger in the spot I was at. “Are you hungry?”
“Yeah,” He giggled. I smiled as I got up and found something to mark my spot before I reached for his hand. He took it and we began to walk to the kitchen. The cooks where so happy to see me. They each hugged me happily as a few kept cooking and others took us to the nock in the kitchen. We where seated and they raced for our plates. We where eating before to long.
Pancakes where on the menu this morning. We have fresh fruit, syrup and whip cream on top. Oh they where heavenly. The cook threw in one or two with chocolate chips. She said it wasn’t healthy but she knew I would want to have them. We promised each other not to tell Rebecca or Jessica.
After Pancakes we went to the garden and enjoyed the garden. Though it was fall and much of fall has fallen into the beautiful garden it was still beautiful. I stopped at the gazebo as my fingers felt the little rose on my chest and smiled. I soon turned to the open field and began to run threw all the things I learned in my book. Tarick trained with me for most the morning. Not much training though as we got confused about some of the stuff.
Andrew wasn’t seen but I could feel his eyes on me. I knew they didn’t want me to pick up a dagger or anything. They didn’t want me fighting because they would always be there but I don’t want to be helpless anymore. I have felt helpless enough. The whips mark’s still fresh in my head. I don’t want it to happen again.
I took Tarick up to the room and gave him a bath before I quickly showered. I had him changed and we walked into my spare room. I gathered some of the paints and stuff from there that where still good and walked down to my mothers room. The smell in there was musty, but it was kept clean. I opened the windows and patio door for some fresh air before I set Tarick up with entertainment. My mind looked towards the two sets of armour in front of me. I had brought a book on armour from the store and began to read. I wanted to make sure I understood what armour meant both here and in the human world. I had Thomas pull one here for me. I was studying when a nock came to the door.
“Come in.” I spoke.
“Lunch Princess.” Mom called as she entered with a large tray of food. There where four plates all with something different. There where two more servants behind her that came in and cleaned up the small table in the corner before mom put the food down. “Tarick honey, run this over to Andrew.”
“But.” Tarick looked at me confused. I pointed to the patio door and he nodded as he ran off. Mom sat me down with a vegetable wrap with some chicken inside. They had baked yam fries and some cucumber slices on the side. I smiled as I ate. Tarick came back to a grilled cheese sandwich and tomato soup. Mom had a chicken caesar wrap.
“Alright honey give that over.” Mom said as she looked at me staring at the second wrap I had. I looked at her with a smile. She took my wrap and I took hers. “There is nothing good about having nothing but healthy food all the time. Got to live a little.”
“I know where they are coming from with it so I do try.” I told her as I enjoyed the first bite. She chuckled lightly before she bit into her wrap as well. We ate mostly in silence before I went back to my book. The sun was setting as Andrew finally decided to make himself know.
“Alright I’m told its supper time and your father would love your presence in the Gazeboo.” Andrew said.
“Next time just sit inside the room. I hate the feeling of someone watching my back.” I told him as I put my book down and grabbed Taricks hand. We walked out of the room without another word.
The Gazebo was beautifully lit as we walked into the garden. The Rose’s where still there which made me smile. Papa had a huge smile on his face as he gave me a hug as I got close.
“Come let us enjoy dinner together.” Papa spoke pointing to the table for three. I guess he knew Tarick would be joining us.
“I don’t want to impose.” Tarick spoke.
“Nonsense little worrier Tarick. You have been keeping my daughter safe. The least I can do is offer you a plate.” Papa spoke with a big smile. I smiled happily as I helped him into his chair. “Almost like having a little brother.”
“I think of it as having a little brother.” I said happily. Tarick smiled at me as plates where put in front of us. Tarrick ate respectfully and it amassed me. Papa was very impressed as well.
“How is the armor coming?” He asked.
“Its coming along great. I am actually reading a book at the moment to get a feel for it. I think I will call on Sharron tomorrow to set up a time I can watch the girls go through training with the uniforms so I can take notes. I will do the same with Mark as well. It’s best to see first hand how the uniforms are to move as well as see where they are not moving.” I told him as I took little bites of the barbeque chicken breast. There was garlic mash potatoes and steamed vegetables. “At the rate I see it depending on the meeting I might have a new prototype by the end of next week.”
“I am glad. I actually cant wait to see them. It has been so long since I got to give the worriers something.” Papa smiled. I was happy to hear he will give each and everyone one a new suite once I was done with it.
“If you need Andrew for something please put him to work.” I told Papa after a few minutes. “He spent all day staring at my back and it was annoying.”
“I would love to but not only will your siblings kill me so will Rebecca and your girls. They only agreed to help in the castle if he was watching you. I think he annoys them and they cant work properly. They also know how protective he is over you so they know your safe.” Papa said a little serious. I sighed and nodded.
“Don’t worry Avery I’ll kick his but for you. He will then look at a wall in your presence instead of you.” Tarick spoke with a smile I laughed gently with papa at this. Tarick was always there to make me smile.
“I want to give you something.” Papa spoke as two servants walked up to us with a tray. “These belonged to your mother. Each winged is chosen by there weapon. Alex took after me with the bow and arrow. I think you might be like your mom.”
“What was she?” I asked cleaning my face before I stood up and walked to the servants. They bowed lightly lifting the trays. There where a few weapons on it.
“You will find out .” Papa said pointing to the trays. I looked at them and frowned. There was so many choices. I closed my eyes and pictured each and everyone of them till a few glowed. It was the bow and arrows, a beautiful rose gold dagger and a sword that matched the dagger. I lifted each of them with my own hands. The servants scurried away as two more replaced them. They each showed me how to hold them and where to put them. Once I was well versed in the actions of where to put, how to take them out for use and then put back on the they took them up to my room.
“I know they will not be needed but any worrier needs her weapons and your mom would be happy to see you carry them.” Papa said as he held back the tears.
“Mom loved Rose’s didn’t she.” I spoke gently as I began to eat again. Papa nodded with a smile.
“She built this very Gazebo. She prayed she would one day be able to sit under it with the Rose’s and hold you. She wanted you to grow up with it. To love Rose’s as much as she did.” Papa smiled as he looked at her. I wish I could have met mom. She sounded awesome. We ate in quiet after that. Once I was done Papa kissed my head and sent me off to sleep. Tarick happily snuggled by me as we fell asleep together.
We went a whole week of seeing no one in the morning. Andrew’s stares stopped piercing my back which was great. I had set up a meeting with Shannon and her warriors and Mark with his warriors. I had done some minor adjustments on both uniforms that I kept at bay just incase I see that it won’t work. I was so sore from training myself I could barely walk but I had to act natural or they would know. Even though I am sure they do.
Tarick had been a great help. He would train every morning with me and mom would bring me supper cool stuff for lunch. Breakfast and super where supper healthy however. I couldn’t fight them off for that. They probably knew I had something not so healthy for lunch.
“Av, do we go to the training ground tomorrow or the day after.” Tarick asked where we where enjoying the sun. It was nice to have it out and be nice and warm this fall day.
“The day after next.” I told him as I looked over he was on his stomach with his head in his hands. He looked supper bored. “We should go find some board games.”
“Yeah,” He exclaimed jumping up. I just smiled as it took me an extra moment to rise. My back was killing me. Not entirely sure why but no one could explain it. It had been like this the last few days.
“Tarick can I ask you something.” I asked as we began walking back to my room.
“Always.” He giggled. He loved when I asked him things. Made him feel grown up and really important.
“When you hold your wings in for a time do they tell you they need to come out.” I asked.
“Good question.” He spoke trying to think of the answer.
“The first couple of times you put them in after them being out for a while it will be a gentle pressure from hip to neck.” Andrew spoke as he pointed it out on my back. “But if ignored it goes away.”
“Okay.” I spoke gently brushing it off as a training pain. As it spiked he turned to leave but I reached out and grabbed his arm.
“Avery what’s wrong.” He instantly knew something is bothering me. Tarick was now worried as he gripped my arm. I couldn’t explain it but knew I had to figure it out. I closed my eyes and calmed my breathing. I still took deep breaths but slower. And image of a field popped up and in it something was being hurt. It was calling out to me. My eyes shot open as I released Andrew and Dragged Tarick with me. “Avery.”
“Something is calling for me.” I called as I kept running. I knew he was hot on my heels. The moment I threw open the doors I raced down the path. Tarick released his wings at this point and flew beside me. I looked back to see Andrew and took a deep breath. I jumped into the air and called to my wings. They shot out without any issues and flapped powerful. Tarick was able to keep up with me as we located the area I needed to go. I dropped in removing the creature from the one calling for help.
‘Move, she is mine' the creature growled. It was a huge wolf in front of me. I swear it had to be a werewolf. I mean could be true as this world was full of things that where fairytales for me back home.
“You will not touch her.” I snapped back. Yep don’t know where that was coming from. I felt Tarick land beside her and place a hand on her neck.
“Don’t worry princess is here to help you.” Tarick spoke gently. The wolf got mad and jumped. I quickly pulled out my dagger and made a small slice on his arm after dodging his paws. He whined in pain. I again put myself between the two. The wolf looked at me before racing back into the forest.
‘My baby,’ the wolf cried gently as she withered in pain.
“Was he your mate?” I asked.
‘No.’ she howled as I began running my hands over her wounds. I found the baby and healed it carefully.
“You and your baby are safe.” I spoke gently. She quickly gazed into a beautiful women. I quickly removed my shirt and passed it to her. The shirt was long enough it covered her baby bump coming up to the mid thigh.
“He is after our child. The last alpha of our pack. My husband is fighting somewhere protecting his pack and home. I have been running in search of help.” She spoke in tears. I held her close to me. “Please you must come and help me.”
“Point the way.” I told her. She smiled happily as she pointed back into the forest. I scooped her up and with my wings we flew back the way we came. Tarick flew directly above me between my wings. He held my strap of my braw. I think he was doing this in fear of losing me.
“There,” she called pointing to a beautiful castle that was surrounded by forest. I angled in carefully placing her down gently before I folded my wings.
“We are going to have to use a phone when this is cleared.” I told her putting my wings away. She nodded gently as we care fully walked around the house. It was quiet which worried us.
“This way.” She spoke getting into the house. I followed with Tarick on my hand. He was the only one I was worried about the most. The moment we stepped into the house we where surrounded by people. Everyone screaming happily they saw there Luna. I smiled happily knowing she was loved in this pack. The Alpha came down the stairs and everyone parted ways. He was battered and bruised. Causing my heart to sink. He definitely was a man of his position. Some of his crew was wounded but he was the worst of all.
“Baby.” The Alpha cried holding his wife so safely. She cried into his shoulder for a moment before they broke away.
“She save us.” The women spoke rubbing her tummy.
“How can I ever repay you.” He asked, his eyes almost pleading to help.
“We ourselves have a war going on. If we are in need of more men will you come and help us.” I spoke gently. “Of course we will help you with this threat on your people.”
“We would be honored to help the young princess.” He bowed his head. I realized my wings where still out even though I thought they had disappeared. “Your mother was banded with us as well.”
“I know not of my mother but I hope to live up to the image she was.” I spoke placing a hand on his arm allowing my magic to heal him. That was it however. Anymore magic and I will be nocked out. Tarick would not be able to get me home.
“You my child are filling her shoes beautiful.” The women spoke.
“I must leave before the sun sets to much more. No one knows where I am at the moment.” I spoke gently. They both bowed. “I will inform my father and we will have a guard or two sent over to make arrangements.”
“We have fought them off for now. I don’t think they will return for a few days.” He spoke gently. I nodded with him knowing it would take time to regroup.
“Come Tarick.” I spoke turning to leave. The Alpha and Luna watched us leave. My wings where tired but they flapped without to much problem.
“You okay Avery?” Tarick spoke gently. I nodded as we kept going. I prayed we where going in the right direction. The wind gently pushed us and I let it. I knew it was mom guiding us home or Thomas. One of the two. Prayed it was the first. It was night fall by the time we touched down in front of the castle. My wings instantly hid giving me some relief. Tarick took my hand as he led me back to the castle. I wanted to get to my room quickly but knew I would have to listen and just walk. There was no way I was using magic this close to someone who could send me away.
“Princess!” The guards bowed as we entered the hall. I gave them a gentle smile as we walked past. I was to tired for anything else right now. Tarrick did a good job at getting us to my room where I knew someone had to be waiting for me. To my surprise my room was empty. I thought it strange but didn’t push my luck. I quickly changed and crawled into bed. Tarrick did the same and came up beside me.
