Chapter 14

We woke the next morning to no one again. I didn’t want to move never mind argue with someone. I had no choice however. I knew Tarick was hungry though he would never say. He was still asleep beside me. The same feeling came back as I gently sighed realizing my patio door was open. I grabbed my house coat that hung on my head board and walked out. I walked strait out and looked out past the rail as I leaned my lower arms on it. “Keep it quiet, your brother is still sleeping.” I gently spoke. “You are going to be the death of me you know that.” Andrew spoke from somewhere. Not really sure where but I knew he was mad. “What where you thinking.” “The way in from the forest has been looked after. A bond reformed that was lost. Trust me I only know this because of the map that was in my mothers room the first day. It was hidden under a few things. It was gone the next day.” I told him as I leaned up so it was my hands on the railing. “Now I need to talk with The King today can you please find us an opening. It doesn’t have to be long.” “As you wish.” He spoke with a heavy sigh. “I promise I will make it seem like you where there with me.” I told him hoping he was still there. Not sure if he was but knew he probably would hear me. “Av" A very sleepy Tarick called. I frowned before I put a smile on my face and walked to him. “Good morning.” “No training today Av. I’m to tired.” “I agree.” I told him as we grabbed each other hands and went down to the kitchen. We grabbed our trays and brought them back up to the bedroom where we ate happily. “The king said he can slot you in now if your free.” Andrew said walking in as we finished our food. Tarick seemed to be tense but I shook my head. He and I quickly got dressed. I made sure to send Andrew out with our dish trays so he couldn’t reprimand his brother. “Come.” I spoke grabbing Taricks hand as we scurried down the hall to my fathers study. Andrew was hot on our tail. “The princess has to speak with her king.” Andrew spoke when we got to the guards. They opened my papas study doors allowing us to step in. “Papa.” I spoke gently. “Avery honey.” Papa looked a little concerned as I walked in. “Is everything alright?” “It is father.” I spoke looking for Thomas. “Thomas had to run into town for some supplies.” Papa sighed. “You are free to use magic.” “Very Good.” I gently took a breath. I circled my hands in front of me as a purple light shot out looking for what I needed. It soon had it laid out on my fathers desk. “This old map.” Papa looked at me confused. “We are not the only kingdom under attack. We need to look to or boarding kingdoms as well.” I spoke placing my finger on the forest of the werewolf. “This is one of them. The Alpha is about to be a father and many are after his wife.” “Andrew.” Papa spoke looking at him. “I have already dispatched a few guards to help them.” Andrew spoke at my request. I mean I did send a few out last night not that I really remember doing it. I had to ask Tarick over breakfast. “Now I wish to look to the Elven of Naricha.” I said pointing to the elven forest. My fingers then fell on another location. “Then the dragons of Lockast.” “But dear.” Papa went to protest. “This kingdom is all of our responsibility. If one of them falls we all fall. I know with moms death things have wavered but it’s time they come back. These men are serious. They have hurt more then enough of our people. No more should fall wither it’s our kingdom or there’s.” I spoke strongly. Father looked at me with tears in his eyes and a smile on his face. It was like he was holding a breath because when he let it go he sobbed. I was so confused and placed a hand on his shoulder. “Your mom would be very proud of you.” He finally said embracing me in a hug. I was so confused. “She was the reason our kingdom was so successful years ago. Since her death I haven’t been able to keep our people joined like she has. You my child will be that bridge.” “I hope to live up to the shoes mom filled.” “My child you have surpassed them.” Papa said as he held me at arms length. “Now rest while I finish what I must do here and then we will make arrangements for you.” “Thank you father.” I spoke gently as I hugged him before grabbing Tarick and racing out of the room into my mothers studies. Tarick went to his corner and I began to read my book again on the patio. “Princess,” Mark called. I put my book down and walked up to the door. I opened it to see him and Rebecca in the uniforms. I forgot I had asked him. “Oh my goodness. You both haven’t been standing there the whole time have you?” I asked a little concerned. “We just got here.” Rebecca said as I ushered them in. I began to check them over and new instantly what I had changed on the ones on the manikin would work for look. They both ran threw a few poses as I observed. I made a few minor adjustments on them before running them again. I dismissed them after that once I replicated the change on my dummies. They nodded as I helped them undo the changes so they would be able to get out of them a little easier. “Now I know you missed supper last night. There is no way I am letting you work through lunch.” Mom spoke as she walked in with a few bags. She placed them on my work table and pulled me over. She had gone to the food truck and bought me chicken fingers and fries. Man they where heaven. Tarick was so happy as well. “I will take this for Andrew.” I spoke grabbing his leaving mine for a little while. I walked out to the patio and put his lunch on the table. “Andrew.” “Yes princess.” He spoke flapping up to the patio. He was furious and I knew it. I stepped to him and put my arms around him. “I don’t want you to be mad at me any more. Sometimes I do things at the blink of an eye. I don’t mean to hurt people it just happens.” I told him. “Avery they where werewolf’s. They could have turned and smacked you down. Then what? Tarick is a bit size lunch for them.” Andrew said finally wrapping his arms around me. “Listen little sis. You are to be protected because you are the most important thing in this world.” “I know, But sometimes this little girl of yours has to do things for herself.” I told him with a smile. He kissed the top of my head and smiled. I was happy to know he was on my team again. The one thing I didn’t like was how he was calling me little sis. I know I haven’t know him for long and I have no idea how relationships worked but I would love to be more then brother sister. “Now I am so jealous of little brother.” He spoke sitting at the table and digging into his lunch. “He got to see your wings.” “Don’t be jealous.” I gently said turning my back to him. I imagined my wings coming out and they stood at attention. His mouth dropped as did mom's who was trying to bring me my lunch. They instantly shot back in. “No way.” Mom spoke as tears began to fall down her cheeks. “Mom you cant tell anyone.” Andrew spoke worried. “You shouldn’t have shown us.” “I have had enough of this.” I spoke gently. “I am hiding something that is the most preciouses to the world. The werewolves took one look and they bowed. You don’t have to hide what I am from me.” “You are royal. Pure royal.” Mom gently whispered as she embraced me. “Avery, your mom was a pure royal. She married your dad who is a royal.” Andrew spoke gently. “Your brother is a royal as we like to call him. It means he didn’t get anything special from your parents like you did.” “This means you are the reason this world is spinning. You control everything we need. You control every creature on this earth. No one dares to define you.” Mom said gently. “Because Avery you have the power to destroy it all.” “But I would never.” I spoke a little taken back. “No no child. We know you would never but that is a fear of theirs.” She spoke gently. She cupped my cheek in her hands. “Just be careful with them child. If those wings are found out by the wrong person they will use them against you.” “I will never let that happen.” I spoke gently. “Plus I got the best guards around me. There is no way I could be taken.” “I know child and I thank the god every day for that.” She smiled before she left the room. I sighed as I looked over at Andrew and frowned. He caught a glimpse of me before turning and eating. “Don’t worry. Now I have a better idea how important they are I will be more careful.” I told him as I sat down with my food beside him. Tarick came running over and sat down with us. “I just never imagined I had a royal I was protecting. A pure royal.” He spoke gently. He stared at his food before Tarick reached over and stole a fry. “Hey.” “There getting cold. Best to eat when hot.” Tarick snickered happily. Andrew began eating his food as I smiled enjoying my own. So much has happened and so much is about to happen I wasn’t even sure if I was ready for it. I mean my once thought summer time dream was to meet all the fairy tail creatures and now within this year I have or will meet so many of them. “Your lost in thought.” Andrew exclaimed as he stole one of my fries. I just chuckled as Tarick snuck another of his. “Hey.” “What?” Tarick exclaimed with his mouth full of fries. I just chuckled as Andrew gave him the look. “Alright you two behave.” I gently said. They looked at me and nodded before Tarick went back to his corner and me and Andrew finished our meal. He went back to guarding as I began fixing the uniforms again. I soon had a prototype that I sent over to Rebecca and Mark for tomorrow. I was lead to my room right after. “Honey.” Papa called as he entered my room. I quickly put on my night wear and stepped out to see my father peeking into my room. “I’m here Papa.” I spoke gently stepping to the bench at the end of my bed. He smiled as he walked in with a small box in his hand. I smiled at him as he held it out for me. “This isn’t much but I wanted you to have it.” He said sitting beside me and handing me the box. I opened it to see a beautiful bracelet. It reminded me of the Pandora bracelet women wore back home. This however had four dangly charms on it. “This one is special.” “Oh?” I said looking at him. That was when Thomas walked in and pointed to the bracelet. It floated into the air and gently wrapped around my right wrist. “Its specially designed that it will not fall off unless broken.” Thomas spoke as I moved it around on my wrist. The charms dangled beautifully. “It belonged to your mother. Many of the charms where given to her by the king of each kingdom. Now there yours.” He spoke gently kissing my forehead. “Its beautiful father.” I spoke gently not taking my eyes off it. Papa got up and walked out with Thomas as little Tarick came into the room with a frown. I looked at him a little worried. “Rebecca is so mean. She says I’m bothering you and should head home with Jason tonight.” Tarick spoke all upset. I frowned to because I didn’t want him to leave. “I bet if we fall asleep before she comes we will get away with it.” I told him gently. “We haven’t had supper yet.” He said. I just chuckled as I found a sweater and we walked down the hall to the kitchen. The chef’s had grilled chicken with spiced potato chunks and garlic lemon asparagus it was mouth watering. Tarick even enjoyed it. I felt bad for Tarick. He had to eat so much healthy food with me. It upset me. He shouldn’t have to but said he enjoyed it anyways. I did try and reason with Rebecca about it but that was to no avail. “Av, what’s tomorrow plans?” Tarick asked as we took our plates to the chef. “Tomorrow we are up early to head to the training grounds. From there we watch the worriers practice. Then it’s back to work on the uniforms.” I told him with a smile as we walked towards my room. “I want to get the uniforms down before we leave.” “We?” Tarick asked confused. “Well if you want to come with me your allowed. Plus I think I am stronger when your around.” I told him with a smile. He nodded happily. I knew Andrew would be coming and I’m sure both Tanisha and Rachelle will also be joining us. I will have to discuss it with Papa though and I know it will be soon. Sleep hit us quickly which I was happy because that alarm came early to. I quickly changed and grabbed my note book before waking Tarick. He was ready to go in seconds as we made our way down to the field. I surveyed the area and began to take notes. There where two grounds, sand and grass. Then there was the air but that we would do another day. The worriers began to slowly fill in and I quickly began to change their uniform. Some of them where nervous but relaxed when the realized I was using special pins. I wanted to see how they moved and began to jot down notes on the feel of the uniform. Shannon and Mike soon arrived. Mike of course was in his new uniform and Rebecca showed up with hers. Shannon was in her regular outfit which caused me to frown. I was hoping she to would be in uniform as I knew her complaints would be the best. I slowly watched each and ever person move a bit without weapons and then with. The girls and guys where not being soft on each other. I was a little worried but knew this is probably nothing compared to what Shannon and Mark put them through. They soon got weapons and I took more notes. “So what do you think?” Rebecca asked as she came up to me. I was scribbling something down. “They definitely need to be improved.” I spoke nose in book. “How?” Mark asked looking over my shoulder. Soon everyone was crowing around me. I really didn’t like this much. “Alright everyone back up.” Andrew pipes up as he landed beside me. I smiled at him as the group backed away except Rebecca and Mark. “I need to change this and this and….” I went on. Soon I found I was rambling as my pen in hand was writing things down point form. I was happy I could keep up with the magic or I would surely be caught. “I will make the necessary changes if I can have a volunteer or two from both ladies and men to help display them at next meet.” “Well Tanisha, Rachelle and I can be it for the ladies.” Rebecca piped up before Shannon could say anything. “Pat, Andrew and I will be for the boys.” Mark said as he looked over at his worriers. They where heaving hard as the women where standing at the ready. “Men.” “Sorry sir.” They all said standing on guard. “At ease soldiers.” I said strongly. They all looked at me as I said once again. They all smiled as they hit the ground. Some sitting some lying on the grass. I smiled happily. Shannon was giving me a sharp look. I really didn’t care. I knew she hated me and I hated her just as much from the last time we have encountered. “So what’s going to change?” Mark asked excited as he led me over to a table. It reminded me of the cement picnic tables we had in the park. Not sure if they where there still as it’s been so long. “Everything.” I told him looking at my rough drawings and the one I had started changing. They looked at the drawing excited as I was. They began to comment on a few things that I had jotted down before mom came for me. She was bound and determined to make sure I ate on time every day specially since I missed supper that one day.
