“Mom she is here.” I hear the boy call as he came around a corner running up to Callista. I smiled as I reached down and lifted him up behind me as Tarick was in front of me. He hugged me happily as Callista started walking again. The little girl was at the door being all shy. As soon as I dismounted however she raced to my legs knocking me over. Callista quickly moved throwing her wings up to help the boys keep there balance. I put my hands out to block my fall. A sharp pain raced through my wrist as it came into contact with something hard. “Nessie,” The queen yelled as I heard her coming over. I held the scream that threatened to escape as I held my lips. I felt Nessie being pulled off as two large hands grabbed my shoulders and helped lift me to my feet. I looked up to see Logan’s upset face. He reached his hand to my wrist and I let it go. He touched a few spots causing me to wince. “We need to get this looked at.” Logan spoke with a heavy sigh. I just smiled as I gently pulled it from him. “It will be okay.” I told him. I turned to the queen who was looking sadly at her daughter. “I’m sorry. You have done so much for us and now your heading back to the hospital.” The queen sighed before looking at me. “I’m really sorry. I shouldn’t jump to conclusions about you. I was only a child when your mom came and we have suffered so much more. I didn’t want to make things worse.” “Don’t worry.” I told her smiling as I raced over and placed my not hurting hand on her shoulder. “We both didn’t know what was going on but now we do. Now we will build a community stronger then ever before.” “We would like that.” She smiled. “Now that we have our dragons back we are going to take back our kingdom.” “Good for you. We will be with you ever step of the way.” I spoke gently. She smiled at me but shook her head. “We ran away from our kingdom as cowards. We need to do this on our own.” The queen said. “And as your friend, we can’t allow it. Yes, we are a small crew but we are mighty.” I told her gently. “We weren’t there for you the first time we are going to be there for you now.” “Princess Avery I cant accept it.” The queen said. I looked at her and with the best poker face I could muster. “Wither you accept it or not we will be there to help you.” I told her stern. “My father didn’t send me all this way just to turn around when you needed me the most.” “Princess Avery.” The queen had tears in her eyes causing me to wrap my arms around her. Nessie even joined in the hug. “I guess I should let the others know then.” Logan spoke once I let the queen go. He had gotten the boys down from Callista. “What do you think Logan?” “It will be an honor to fight at your side.” Logan spoke gently bowing to me. I could see it in his eyes. The horror of his new mate fighting. “I promise Logan, she is a much better fighter then I.” I told him before he smiled and left. “He isn’t going to leave your side the whole fight.” The Queen spoke with a laugh. “Nope he found his mate. I think he will be at her side.” ********************************************* “Its not broken which is good.” The doctor chuckled looking between me and the queen. He was wrapping it with a tensor. “Now you did damage a tendon in there so leave it wrapped and try not to use it for a while. The tensor will allow you to grab very light things but nothing to heavy.” “Thank you doc.” I spoke gently as he finished. He got up and handed me a bottle. “This is just incase it starts to bother you.” He spoke. “Or if you need to add them with lemon to water it will nock those to out for some peace.” “Thank you Doctor.” The Queen spoke chuckling. I guess the two of them have been arguing for hours. Tarick tried to get there attention for a while before Aragon, the queens son screamed ‘Princess Avery’s Hurt’. Well I thought the world shook as the two of them took off out the door. I’m not to sure where they went so I know that will be my next endeavor now. I got off the bed carefully and walked towards the door. Nessie was there to great me. Tarick and Aragon where gone. “Now where did those too go?” ‘Callista,’ I thought. ‘Reco has gotten his head stuck in the dirt.’ Callista sighed. ‘Andrew and Tarick are trying to pull him out. Aragon should be back there to grab you.’ “Reco is stuck.” I sighed. The queen chuckled. I’m sure he was stuck due to Andrew and I’m sure that’s what she thought as well. Aragon met us at the entrance of the hospital where he grabbed my good hand and we gently ran down to them. Sure enough down at the bottom of a small incline you saw Reco's rump and both boys laughing at him. I sighed as I stopped us at the top. Aragon dropped my hand and stepped closer to me. Swirling my good hand Reco was placed right way up. Callista grabbed Tarick by the collar of his shirt and lifted him to me. I placed him on Callista as we all walked away. “Go back to the lake sweetheart. You don’t need to be here. I’ll explain to them.” The queen said grabbing one of my cheeks in her hand. I smiled as I mounted Callista. Aragon wanted to come so I lifted him up. Nessie looked at her mom before indicating she wanted to go. The queen nodded as she raced over to me. Tarick stood up and opened his wings flapping off Callista. Aragon was amassed as he did the same and shifted to his green dragon. He was beautiful. I lifted Nessie up in front of me before Callista took off. She did with just enough time that Andrew couldn’t see us flying away. Everything was so chaotic right now and I had no idea what to do. I mean there was so much going on that I don’t even know where to begin. Reco and Andrew the top of that list. Logan and Rachelle next and then everyone else after that. I just had no idea what to do anymore. I mean yes I am princess and everything but it seems like that is even to much for me right now. ‘Everything will be okay Avery.’ Callista spoke gently to me. I just nodded not really sure what else to do. Nessie felt something off as she tilted her head back and looked at me. I fake a smile but that didn’t help. She jumped up and wrapped her arms around me. I was taken back causing poor Callista to have to adjust her position to catch us. “Easy Nessie.” I gently cooed to her as the child cried in my embrace. “I promise you did nothing wrong.” ‘She still upset you got hurt?’ Callista asked gently. ‘I’m not to sure.’ I thought back confused. ‘My sister is a very emotional person. She cries at the littles of things sometimes.’ Aragon’s voice popped in my head. ‘She probably felt you upset about something which is why she is crying.’ “There there sweetheart. Please stop.” I spoke gently to her pulling her away from me so I could see her face. “Crying will only make me feel worse.” “Princess no sad.” She spoke rubbing her eye. “No I am not sad. But I will be if you keep crying.” I told her gently with a smile. I grabbed her face and with my thumbs removed her tears. “All this Princess needs is a smile.” “Yeah,” She exclaimed happily. I smiled happily as well causing her to hug me once more before she settled in to place. I wrapped my arms around her holding her tight to me. She giggled happily but didn’t pull away. ‘You my dear girl are going to make a good mom one day.’ Callista gently spoke. This caused me to smile wider. I mean this was a small endeavor and I know children through a lot worse at you but I took pride in that statement. It may be to soon for someone to say it but I was happy it was said. It caused me to forget everything bad I was thinking. ‘Now let’s see those water skills.’ ‘What?’ I thought as Callista through both me and Nessie off. It took a second to figure out what she did but once I did I pulled Nessie close so she could grip my chest like a monkey baby to her mom. I began to move my hands like the book instructed me and without further delay the water took motion. It cupped us this way and that till we where safely touching ground. Callista reared and bucked with excitement as the boys came up behind us. I just chuckled as I saw the smirk come over Callista. Pulling the water from behind me it took out both boys and Callista who turned out drenched in front of us. Nessie and I where completely dry. ‘Oh princess that was so called for.’ Callista said chuckling as she shook off the water to the best she could. “Avery no fare.” Tarick cried as he started to shake his wings. Aragon was so dumb founded he sat there in human form trying to figure out what happened. I forced him from dragon to human before the water could touch him. I didn’t want the water to hurt his dragon in fear it would really hurt him. “Aragon are you okay?” I asked a little concerned. He looked at me and nodded “What actually happened?” He asked a bit confused. “She splashed us with a big gush of water.” Tarick spoke annoyed. He was frantically trying to dry his wings so he could fly. “But I was a dragon.” He spoke looking at the water then at his hand. “Now I am a boy.” “I didn’t know if the water could hurt you so I made sure to transform you back.” I spoke gently. He chuckled. “Thank you princess but I can assure you nothing can hurt a mighty dragon.” He spoke before lightning struck. I looked up to see a storm rolling in. No wonder it wasn’t so bright out. He raced over to me and gripped me hard. “Except for lightning. That can crisp us good if its strong enough.” “Nothing is going to touch you while you are with me.” I told him as we walked over to Tarick. I pulled up little wind tunnels to help dry his wings before I went over to Callista. I placed Nessie on her back as well as Tarick and Aragon before I made straps that went around there waist and under Callista. The wind was getting to be very strong and I didn’t want something to happen to them. Callista wrapped her wings up and over them so they wouldn’t get wet. She made sure they could see me and what was going on ahead. “Hurry Callista.” I spoke as I picked up speed. I really wasn’t sure which way I should be going but Callista kept us going in the direction Aragon was telling us. It would have been better is we could fly but that was not an option in this due to how fast the winds where coming in. ‘Princess.’ Callista cried as I tripped over a log. I collected my self and rose. Her nose gently nudging my cheek. ‘I promise I am okay.’ I told her as the rain began to start pelleting. I mean it actually hurt where it hit. I was going to use magic but decided if this storm got any worse I would need it to make a shelter we could stay in till it blew over. ‘Be careful.’ She spoke as we began to keep walking. I think she was nervous as she was the only one with me that could do anything to help. I mean yes it was dangerous we where out here on such a storm but we had to get back. I heard heavy wing beats and froze. I looked up to see a dragon in the distance but something made me shutter. “Avery we need to hide.” Nessie spoke as she gently tapped Callista who shot forward. I caught up and jumped in front of Callista. I pulled up and invisibility shield around us as I felt the dragon moving closer. I placed my finger to my lips as Callista shoved her forehead to my chest. I wrapped my hands around the back of her nose to try and comfort her. ‘Cant we just go home.’ Callista said. ‘It takes to much energy to keep this shield up and walk at the same time. If we need to make a shelter I will need the magic for that.’ I thought to her as I placed a silent kiss in her forelock. ‘Okay.’ She said gently. I knew she didn’t want to be here. Rain and winged creature just don’t mix. I didn’t look up or move as the large dragon flew over us to the lake. He stopped and landed in the area before looking our way. He started running causing me to panic. With magic I transitioned us a few feet away. We where in a very dense portion of the forest now away from the path it was a good thing. If I hadn’t he would have plowed right through us. Nessie was silently crying as Tarick wrapped his arms around her. He was whispering something in her ears. I knew he was trying to calm her down. ‘He’s gone.’ Callista thought gently. I held my hand on her face as I stepped away. When she tried to follow I pushed causing her to step back. I took a deep breath as I carefully stepped towards the path. When I didn’t see him I nodded to her. She slowly walked to me. It was a little more difficult for her as she had four legs to keep in balance and not step on things but she made it. We began our quick move towards the hill but as we got close there he was looking strait at us. I did what anyone would do in this situation, my wings hearing the cry and flew out of my back. To my happiness they came out pure royal purple. I was grateful for this because no one would know I was the royal princess this way. I raced at his face and grabbed a scale for which I pulled up with all my might. My wings flapping with great power as I pulled him to the sky before his head threw me. ‘Get them inside.’ I cried to Callista as I flew away from him. He was following me, forgetting about the children. The water was not helping me as my wings began to get heavy. I quickly rotated hard, one to get away from his Jaw the other to try and get rid of all the access water on my wings. It helped a little but not enough as his enormous tail smacked me hard in between the wings. I let out a cry of pain as I swerved away from another attack. I tried to regroup but not with enough time. His mighty Jaw was there again but before he could snap me something had taken him away. I saw pure white as I angled away. The white dragon pushed him to the ground before it swooped up and collected me on its back. ‘Please tell me your alright.’ He demanded and I knew right away it was Logan. I relaxed on his back as I folded my wings away magically removing the water. ‘Yes,’ I told him happily. ‘My wings are wet so I was moving sluggish.’ ‘Its alright, I got you now.’ He spoke gently as he whipped his head around a fire shot out of it at the intruder. I quickly moved from the spot on his back just escaping the talons of the other. We began to role which was not good for me as my bad wrist had to help hold me up. The pain ripping threw it was nauseating. ‘Your not alright.’ ‘My wrist.’ I was able to choke out before Logan Flipped gently the other way so I didn’t have to pull myself up. ‘Can you get to my tail!’ He asked dodging another hit without rolling. ‘Probably.’ I spoke holding my bad wrist to my chest. I stood ever so gently and began to carefully walk that way. Logan kept us as smooth as possible till the intruder knocked into us. It sent my flying over Logan who roared in anger. I landed softly in arms and looked up to see it was Andrew. “Close your eye.” He said gently. I did as I was told. He quickly moved us somewhere. I felt him touch down before he started walking away. “Do you want me to put you down?” ‘No' I thought as I shook my head. He chuckled as I placed he head on his chest and opened my eyes. I was actually scared and I didn’t want to be alone. “Reco is approaching.” He spoke as I heard someone approach and I stiffened. I relaxed in his arms before a scream could be heard. I instantly opened my eyes and looked up at Andrew who was looking around. ‘Logan?’ I cried. “I’m right here Avery.” He spoke a little out of breath. Andrew turned to him causing me to shutter. I instantly reached out his shoulder and healed it. “Avery it would have healed with time.” “In a place we don’t know it’s better to heal it then deal with infection.” Reco spoke trying to quote what I had said to him. I narrowed my eyes at him causing him to shutter. “Well she is right. This placed is the hype of infection.” Logan chuckled when he saw what was going on. Andrew put me down at that point but I stayed close to him. He knew why and wrapped his arms around my shoulder. “Where sorry Avery.” Reco finally spoke looking away from me. He was rubbing his arm. I knew he was upset as was Andrew whom had moved his head off mine. His arms stayed closed around me. “We where just worried and angry and took it out on each other.” Andrew sighed. “You guys cant do it ever again. Please. You are here to keep me safe and I you. When things happen they happen.” I told them gently after a few minutes. “We are all in this together. If something happens to her it is not just one person’s fault its all of ours. We just need to learn to understand this.” Logan piped up when I went quiet. “She is going to have urges to do thing that we need to learn to be at her side to help not hinder.” “Like this one, with out her doing what she did we would not have set you free or gotten the approval of the Dragons on our side.” Reco gently said. “Yes.” Logan smiled. “See you guys understand things way better then you think you do.” “There is more.” I sighed now feeling a bit guilty. “Let me guess we aren’t going home as soon as we had hoped.” Andrew spoke behind me. “We have to accommodate the dragons back to there kingdom.” I spoke gently. “We now have an alliance with them and I know we are few but we must help. Papa will not be able to send men this way quick enough to help.” “Avery this is not a good idea.” Andrew spoke. Reco growled as did Logan. “I know your concern but it’s how things are to be. I will not leave this place till they are safe within there kingdom once more.” I said turning to him. He sighed and dropped his arms. I looked at him and he stepped away. “Things are always so complicated with him.” Logan spoke before a squeal caught our ears. Rachelle soon jumped on Logan who magically had caught her. I really don’t know how he did it. “Don’t ever do that again.” She bitterly screamed at him. Logan was taken back as he looked at her. She smacked him with her lips causing him to stumble back. I looked at Reco who nodded and followed me. Andrew was close behind us but soon disappeared once we got closer to the queen. Reco however stayed right with me the whole way even though he was shuttering.
