We came to the edge of the forest and I shuttered. There in front of us where the winged that had attacked our kingdom. The blood began to boil in me even though I wasn’t sure why. I scanned the area and found the spot I was looking for. ‘So what’s the plan?’ Reco asked as he passed the small area by me. Callista shock her mane in anger as well. ‘They need to pay for there sins. These creatures have harmed my ponies.’ Callista snapped. I had to think logically or we could run into danger. “Rebecca what’s the best way to get through?” I asked gently. “Um….” ‘I like that idea. Let’s go.’ Reco said taking off. Callista followed close in toe with me on her back. This was not what I expected. I called to my bow and arrows that quickly came to my call and began to fire them as I went by. Callista was careful where she stepped and how she moved. Due to the fact all that was holding me on her was my legs. ‘Jump Avery.’ She gently said. I did as she said and landed close to the cells my friends where in. I raced over and began to pick at the lock with my dagger. Didn’t take long to open it. “Princess you need to get out of here.” Pat spoke as I freed Tanisha. She raced over to Rachelle as I went to him. “We stick together.” I told him as I fumbled with the chain. He looked at me in shock. “And I mean it.” “But your suppose to be safe.” He said. “Are my guards safe?” I asked looking at him. When he shook his head no I continued. “Your right there tied up. How can I be the damsel in distress when my guards cant help me.” “You promised us no hero though.” Rachelle said once she is free. “I don’t see bad guys. Got to have bad guys to be a hero.” I told her with a chuckle. I finally got Pat free. He grabbed my shoulders and shoved me away as an arrow went right between us. I nodded gently at him as I got up and walked to Jason. “Rebecca is safe. She is waiting for you.” “Avery this is dangerous.” He spoke gently. “I am not a warrior like them. I came along just to help heal wounds and counteract skin rashes.” “Don’t worry Jason. We are all here with you.” Tanisha spoke gently. “Pat is second command to Mark. The fact we where kidn*pped is a shock.” “We where out numbered.” Pat said. “Shhhh.” Rachelle said as she rubbed her wrist. “Hurry up.” Andrew spoke as he threw weapons at everyone. He passed me my sword which I was happy with. I was helping Jason to his feet. We all stepped away from the cage. “Please help us.” A small voice called. I stopped and looked around. There in another cage where four people. And two children. I had to help but knowing what happened last time I turned and grabbed Andrew’s arm to which I held as I dragged us over to them. I began to work on the lock as he got the others attention. “We don’t have the time for this.” Pat said as he kept his guard up. I decided like I didn’t hear him and kept going at the lock. It finally broke allowing me to get in to help them. “Stay close to us. We will help you.” I spoke gently to them. They nodded as the young girl reached her arms up to me. I picked her up and held her close. The young boy glued to my side. Jason was helping one of the older gentlemen. “Where are the others.” Pat asked looking at me. I took a second and found them just around the corner. I motioned where and we began to move. They took out there wings as we went. Tarick was the first to spot us which I was happy about. I grabbed my dagger and allowed it bury itself deep into the neck of an enemy advancing towards him. “Avery you just took off.” Tarick spoke out of breath as he hugged me. “I know little brother. I’m sorry.” I told him as I hugged him. Tarick released me to gab the hand of the boy beside me. They where roughly the same age. “We need to get out of here before more find a way in.” Rebecca said helping me to my feet. We began to move. My guards circled around us as we went. Reco and Calista joined us with Darika at there side. Most of the stuff we traveled with was gone except a few things they put on Darika. I mean it was okay. We could replace it. Out weapons at our side that was all that matters. “There,” the young girl on my hip pointed to a cave. I nodded and raced that way the guards changing direction. “Go further in we will shield the door.” One of the women with us spoke. She motioned for Jason to walk further in with the older man. Two others stay with the women. “Tarick grab those two stones there and chip them together. That will alow you to pull magic of fire out and not suspect anything.” I whispered to him. Tarick nodded as he grabbed the stones. The elder Jason was helping created two torches for us in which he lit. One was passed to pat as Andrew held the other behind us. “Mommy.” The young girl spoke causing the boy beside me to flinch. “Shes asleep,” I said placing a hand on his shoulder. He held it with his own as he walked beside me. I could tell he was scared. I mean I would be lieing if I said I wasn’t. I was freaking petrified but I knew I had to be here. “Theres a light up ahead princess.” Pat spoke gently. I was about to say something with the lights where flicked out and something jumped at us. I held the children and Tarick really close as we backed away to the wall. The old man however bellowed as he stood up tall and lit the whole are with light. “That is enough warriors.” He spoke proud. The warriors instantly dropped to there knee causing poor Jason to race to his side to help hold him up. “Come they mean us no harm. They have saved us.” ‘Avery,’ Reco gently nudged my nose causing me to look at him. ‘Phase and I will make sure you are clothed.’ I told him gently. He went behind Callista whom used her wing as a shield. She made her horn glow which allowed me to lifted clothing from the bag on Darika. “Come.” One lead warrior spoke as he lit his hand with a simple flame. The others did that to as they formed a circle around my circle. Reco came up behind me, Andrew was also there. Neither one of them looked relaxed. “We follow.” I spoke more to my group then anything. One of the old man’s warriors helped Jason with him and one tried to grab the sleeping child out of my arms but the young boy shooed her away. “My sister will be mad if she wakes up and not in her bed, moms arms or your arms.” He spoke gently falling back to my hand. I just smiled as I held her close. She buried her face deeper into my neck. “Here.” Andrew spoke lifting the boy to his hip. He didn’t argue as long as Andrew stayed close to me. This made Tarick smile as he filled my now free hand. “Welcome to the home of the dragons.” The old man spoke as we got to the end of the cave. Built into the mountain was a beautiful city. Children playing in the streets and parents working close. There was a large whole at the top almost like it was a volcano at one point. The warriors stood patiently as we took in the view. I cant believe how beautiful it was. “When our kingdom was destroyed we had to move. Our people where being killed left right and center. We asked for aid and no one came.” The man spoke. “The winged suppose to help us.” “There Queen promising to help and yet no one came.” A warrior spoke as she sheathed her sword. I started to feel funny. This was not something I wanted. “So please talk with our queen and then leave. Not many people will like to see you here.” The man spoke as he pointed them to a special route. I was annoyed, mom did all the hard work and no one came from outside. How could that be. I really had no idea and not being able to ask papa I would have to try and figure this out. “Come in.” a voice spoke from the other side of the door. The guards motioned to it. I took a deep breath and stepped in. The Queen looked up from her paperwork before dropping her pen and running over. The men she was talking to stood on the defense. “Babies.” She cried. The child in my arms instantly shot up. I put her down so she can race to her mom. The boy in Andrew’s arms doing the same. “thank you for saving my children. The guards will see you have your supplies stocked and then you may leave.” “I have come to speak with you.” I spoke gently taking a step towards her. The men stiffened more behind her causing Andrew to grab my shoulder. “I don’t associate with winged people.” She said as calmly as she could. She rose to walk away causing me to shutter. There was something very wrong going on here. “No but we would like to apologies.” I spoke gently. I was starting to get dizzy now and not too sure why. Something was not right and someone was trying to tell me. “What will your apologies do. It won’t bring back our home nor the people we lost.” She spoke. “The war happened years ago. She promised to come she promised and she didn’t deliver.” “Could you explain a bit more?” I asked not that it would have helped me any. She began to walk away but I stepped forward and grabbed her hand. As we did we saw the flash back. From both sides. There war as well as our own. They attacked together no one able to get help to each other. As the images faded I removed my hand and nearly collapsed. Andrew was right there to stop me from hitting the ground. “Alright so that’s cleared up.” “We cant help you Princess. We barely have the means to survive our self. We have lost all the strongest warriors just to get here. We have nothing left.” The queen spoke broken. “Then come home with me so we can keep you safe.” I spoke gently. “The kingdom of Kastina has been vacant for years. We could work together and get it set for you. We would be closer and help you train more soldier. When your kingdom is ready again we will help you move back here.” “We have nothing left.” She spoke almost like she had given up on life. “The dragons inside us have all but vanished.” “The are there. They always will be there.” Reco spoke gently. “You just have to give them a reason to fight again.” “That is easier said then done.” The queen sighed. My head began to pound once more causing me to wince. Andrew noticed and instantly tensed. I waved him off but he was still worried. I gently open up to hear them screaming, calling for help. They where trapped in darkness. They where magically taken from them no wonder they couldn’t feel them. I instantly ripped past my group and raced out into the street. I had to find it, the one image I was sent. I raced through there street. Everyone jumping out of my way or shielding there children from me. I didn’t care I couldn’t care right now. I had to get to the fountain. It took a bit of time to find and by the time I did I was tired. I began to open my mind once more as I heard there cry. Reaching my hand out to the water I pulled it around me. The water circling as my wings came out on there own will. A purple cloud surrounding the water and me to protect me from seeing eyes as I flapped into the air. They told me when I was high enough and I stopped. I began to make it rain. My magic lacing every rain drop as it hit each and every person. The cries of the dragon now turning to joy as the people’s cry of happiness found my ears. There own wing beats littering the air as I felt myself fall. Before I hit the ground someone managed to grab my and lay me down peacefully.
