The Dark Side

I was not looking forward to today. Angels and demons are the two types of people in my universe. Fairies, on the other hand, appeared somewhere along the way. Nobody knows where they are, but I was born a hybrid, which is awful for me. A cross between an angel and a fairy. I had been homeschooled my entire childhood owing to my quirkiness, but now was my first day of high school. I expected to be scrutinised and evaluated discreetly, if not out loud. I mean, I'd never seen a fairy before, and I doubt any of the students at this highschool had. we're all angels, so no one should be cruel to me. The system has been sluggish in recent years, so it's not surprising that some individuals would mock me simply for being different. I might as well be the only hybrid in the entire universe. I adjusted my eyes to the bright light that my father had put on in an attempt to wake me up. I wish I could stay in bed all day, but I have to get out of bed at some point. My legs slid off of the soft and warm mattress and my feet touched the cold hardwood, shocking me slightly. I quickly adjusted to the temperature and stood up. the school had a very strict dress code. angels tended to be very conservation, whereas devil's were known for their daring and provocative outfits. that didn't matter though since we were f*******n from ever coming face to face. It was rumoured we were not aloud to see eachother to prevent the creation of cambions. the combination of an angel and demon, as well as the most powerful being in the universe. my uniform consisted of a checkered skirt that fell to my knees with a blouse and sweatervest over it. the tie was mandatory and the only requirement for the shoes is that they are white paired with white socks. I changed into the pastel yellow outfit before slipping my socks and sneakers on and braiding my long blonde hair into a neat French braid. it was quite unpleasant, the rough fabric scraping off my sensitive skin causing rashes to break out all over my back and thighs. the shoes were blistering my heels and the tie was choking me but I looked neat and tidy so none of that mattered. now, I was ready to start my first day at siren high. the strictest school in the town.
