Chapter 10

Ruby’s Pov:

I woke up in a room I don’t remember being in. I sat up and all of what happened flashed back. What I have a vampire as a mate, not just any vampire, to be exact, the one and only king of vampires. He does smell so good cherries with vanilla. He has gray blue eyes so light but with so much love in them. How is he in love with me already? What is going to happen if I reject him or not? I need to know more about him to decide if I want to reject him or not. Wolfie is so happy to finally have her mate and she wasn’t happy that I even said anything about rejecting him at all. She was the one that told me to get to know him. But I also have a case to figure out. How am I going to be able to focus on my case with my mate wanting to stay around me? Talking about cases, what is happening to these human hikers if they do not have any blood left on their bodies? I wonder if it’s the Caitiffs have anything to do with this?

King Gunner Pov:

I went to go get some sleep because all I could do was focus on my beloved’s scent all night. It smells so good. She smells like cinnamon and pumpkin pie. How those 2 smells go so well together, I don’t know, but it’s making me want to go into her room and wrap her in my arms. I couldn’t do that because she would probably try to kill me if she could. The bond between 2 soulmates can’t hurt or kill each other if the bond is strong enough, because she is so near, the bond is getting stronger by the second. I went to go into my room and I think this was a bad idea because the bedroom that she is staying in is beside my bedroom. I grabbed her door knob and went to open it, but it was lucky f**k I cursed under my breath. I went straight to my bedroom and I could just teleport in her bedroom, but I don’t think I could stop myself if I got the chance to make her all mine now. I’m in my bedroom pacing around the room. Trying to figure out what to do to make her want to stay and, hopefully, she doesn’t reject me. Because I have been searching for her for 5 years before I finally got her now. I don’t want to lose her when I just got her. I know I’m not going to reject her because she is a werewolf. I don’t care, I’m already madly in love with her by just looking at her and the way she smells. I’m now in my bedroom freaking out because I think she’s going to reject me now. Of all things, why doesn’t she look at me, but her wolf looks at me with love. If she does reject me, please do it fast as it doesn’t hurt so badly. While I’m too busy to pay attention that someone’s at my door knocking, but by the smell, I know it’s her at my door. How did she know this was my bedroom? I opened the door, and she was just standing there looking at her feet. I don’t think she realizes that I opened the door yet. Hi, I think I startled her because she ended up on the floor in front of me. I rush to help her up, and she looks up at me, and I ask her, "Are you okay?" Do I need to get to the coven hospital? She stared at me for what felt like hours, but it was only 2 mins. I start waving my hand in front of her face. She jumped from my arms before I could do anything or ask her if she wanted to come into my room, so we are not just standing here.
