Crimson Retribution
"Your flames are nothing but a minor annoyance to my skin, Elder Mo," Lin Feng shouted, his voice cutting clean through the thick wall of dark gray smoke.
The stadium went completely silent as the dense clouds began to part. Thousands of spectators leaned forward, their eyes bulging as they saw Lin Feng standing in the absolute center of the scorched stone platform. His gray outer disciple robes were slightly charred at the edges, but his skin remained perfectly smooth, untarnished, and completely unbothered by the blazing heat.
"How on earth are you still standing after a direct strike from my premium weapon?" Elder Mo stammered, his face turning an ash gray color as he gripped the hilt of his burning sword. "That wave of fire was designed to reduce an ordinary mortal to a pile of dust in a single second!"
"You relied too much on stolen resources and fancy items, old man," Lin Feng said, taking a slow step forward on the cracked stone. "You forgot how to build real, honest strength. Now your fire belongs to me."
"Do not grow arrogant with me, you lucky little dog!" Elder Mo roared, lifting his blade high once more. "I will chop you into tiny pieces if the fire will not burn you!"
The elder lunged forward again, unleashing a second, massive wave of bright orange flames that hissed angrily as it rushed across the stage.
Lin Feng did not even attempt to dodge the incoming attack. Instead, he simply extended his bare right hand, spreading his fingers wide. His internal golden cosmic pathways throbbed violently beneath his skin, sending a massive jolt of ancient power directly toward his open palm. A deep, swirling vortex of pure black smoke erupted from his skin, spinning rapidly like a tiny, hungry storm.
"What kind of foul sorcery is that?" a senior disciple screamed out from the top row of the bleachers, pointing down at the stage with a trembling hand.
"He is absorbing the technique directly!" another spectator yelled in pure shock.
The massive wave of fire slammed right into Lin Feng's open hand, but instead of exploding, the flames were instantly sucked straight into the swirling black vortex. The dark smoke devoured the heat, the light, and the spiritual energy of the attack within a single second, channeling the raw power directly into Lin Feng's golden core.
"This is impossible!" Elder Mo shrieked, his eyes wide with a deep, primal terror as he felt his own spiritual energy being violently tugged toward the boy. "What kind of demonic art are you performing in front of the sect?"
"It is the art that will end your miserable life," Lin Feng whispered, his eyes flashing with a dangerous gold brilliance.
With a sudden, violent thrust of his arm, Lin Feng redirected the entire absorbed power right back at its original creator. A massive beam of crimson and gold energy shot out from his palm, traveling with a speed that defied the physical laws of the world.
Elder Mo did not even have the time to raise his weapon to block. The heavy crimson beam struck him squarely in the chest, lifting his heavy body completely off his feet and throwing him backward through the air. The impact sounded like a heavy iron hammer smashing against a hollow bronze bell.
"My meridians!" Elder Mo screamed, a horrific, high pitched sound of pure agony that echoed through every single corner of the vast stadium. "My spiritual core is shattering! Stop it, please!"
Lin Feng blurred across the stone stage, appearing directly above the falling elder before the old man could even hit the ground. He delivered a swift, heavy downward kick right into Elder Mo's stomach, smashing him violently into the solid stone floor. The impact created a massive crater, throwing up shards of rock and dust into the air.
The arena went dead silent once again. Thousands of witnesses stared down at the crater in absolute horror. Elder Mo lay flat on his back, his long gray robes torn to shreds, and his face covered in dark blood. The powerful green aura he had possessed just moments ago was completely gone, replaced by the weak, hollow breathing of an ordinary mortal. His cultivation base had been entirely destroyed in front of the public.
"You took everything from me for three long years," Lin Feng said, stepping into the crater and looking down at the groveling old man with cold, unfeeling eyes. "You beat me, you starved me, and you threw me off a cliff. Today, I am taking your life as full payment for that debt."
"Please, Lin Feng, spare my miserable life," Elder Mo wept, coughing up a thick spray of dark crimson blood onto the stone. "The Sect Leader forced me to monitor you! I was just following orders from the top of the mountain! Do not kill me!"
"Your excuses are worth less than the dirt under my boots," Lin Feng said, raising his hand high as the black smoke began to coil around his fingertips once more, ready to deliver the final, lethal blow to his nemesis.
Before Lin Feng can deliver the final blow, the sky turns dark as the Sect Leader himself descends from the clouds, radiating killing intent.
The bright morning sun was instantly blotted out by a massive, unnatural shadow that stretched across the entire mountain range. A freezing, suffocating pressure dropped from the sky like a solid block of lead, forcing every single disciple in the stadium to drop directly to their knees, their chests gasping for air under the immense weight of a supreme master.
"Stop your hand this instant, you rebellious monster," a voice boomed from the heavens, sounding like heavy thunderclaps that shook the very foundations of the arena.
Lin Feng looked up toward the dark clouds, his teeth clenching tightly as he saw a middle aged man wearing majestic purple robes floating down from the sky. The man's face was completely calm, but his eyes held an absolute, terrifying desire to murder everything in sight. It was the Sect Leader, the man who had butchered Lin Feng's family.
"You have brought shame to this mountain today, Lin Feng," the Sect Leader said, landing softly on the edge of the crater, his immense aura making the surrounding air warp and ripple. "You will answer for your crimes right now."
