Chapter 1. Ada's POV
I'm Ada, I've just turned 18 and I cannot wait to get out of this place that I am to call my home. I take residence at Darkthorn Manor, which is basically a boarding house that also has additional cabins dotted around the site. This establishment is for people of my kind only, this means we are able to live in a protected space away from the mortal beings that are on the other side of town. I suppose it has its benefits of being here but I find myself wishing the days away, just because I cannot bare to live my life with people who treat me this way. For how I am treated is all because of what my Father had done 18 years ago. My Father was banished for his weakness and for his weakness I also pay the price everyday. For being slightly different from everyone else made me a target, to them I am someone to beat and mistreat if I get in the way or if I voice my opinions. I'm not sure how much I can take of this. I can feel everyone's eyes on me as I walk through the gardens like I have this stentch that surrounds me, a stentch that repulses them to the very core of their immortal beings. As I continued to walk on by and ignore the stares I heard the muttering from Esmee. Esmee was one of the most beautiful cold ones I'd ever come across, but my goodness she was also the biggest b***h around this place. Her hair golden like the sands radiating the sun, with the most amazing Hazel eyes with a caramel fleck that shimmers. Her beauty, all be it show stopping, soon wore of when she began to talk.
'theres the half breed' Esmee huffed as she and her heard turned towards my direction.
'b***h please tell me your on the way to shower because that smell is making everyone sick... Hey! I'm speaking to you.'
I could feel myself begin to rage, my fists clenched in a ball. Before I knew it I had swung around and in seconds (I would like to point out that it was one of my fastest speed runs up to yet) I was standing with my face just inches aways from hers, my eyes fixed on her eyes, I was to enraged to just walk away, I had to see this through.
'I've had enough of you and your vile petulant words, I maybe half breed but you shouldn't underestimate me... b***h' i said, my words strong but calm. Before giving her chance to respond I gave her a swift kick to the chest, I could hear the force my kick had as it sounded like a bullet to the chest. I suddenly then became aware of what I had done. I could feel my expression change as I stared at Esmee screaming and flaring her arms in the lake, the realisation of what I had done hit me but for the life of me I could not move. Not until I was broken out of this trance I seemed to be in.
'you need to leave, now' was the deep but inviting voice of Jacob, he was popular with the ladies at this residence and my god you can see why. His dark hair, so full and with a glistening effect, sat mainly to one side with a stray flick hair resting across his forehead. His eyes dark too, eyes I could find myself getting lost in. Why am I feeling this way? He's in her group, he's like her.
'Ada, go!' he demanded. His voice sent me colder than I thought I could be. With this, I darted over the kitchen quarters to where I was required to prepare food for the cold ones who are visiting from other towns. This area, the kitchen that is, was mainly occupied by the outsiders, you know the ones who are different, like me. So I knew I'd be safe from Esmee in here. I know I didn't help myself there but since I've turned 18 I can't hold back my rage, my disagreements. I just hope I can get through today without causing any more dramas.
