The Thanksgiving holiday came and went. Lizzie and her family went into full gear to prepare for the upcoming winter holidays.
They put up a tree, put candles in the windows, and put a wreath on the door. Wrapped packages started to appear underneath the tree, waiting for the big night to come so they could be opened.
“Are you guys still coming over for the first night of Hanukkah?” Elle asked Lizzie as they waited for the bus.
Lizzie nodded and said, “Of course! We never miss Hanukkah at your place, just like you don’t miss Christmas Eve at ours.”
Elle looked at her out of the corner of her eyes and asked, “Are you going to get anything for Luke and Deon?”
Lizzie tried not to blush but felt her face getting warm.
Nodding, she said, “I’d like to get them a little something.”
