She let out a yelp as she was pulled back into the room.  Then she saw her mother stick her head out of the door, sniffing the air. Lizzie looked back and saw her father was holding her arm, but his gaze was on her mother.   “Picking up on anyone’s scent, Jordyn?” he asked, a worried look on his face.   Her mother sniffed the air for a moment longer, then shook her head.   “They’re gone, whoever they were,” she said.  “What about the bag?” Lizzie asked. “Does that have a scent on it?”  Her mother looked down at the bag, then bent closer to inhale the surrounding air. Frowning, she stood back up and shook her head.   “It’s been outside so long, the scent is faded,” she said. “I’ve only got a hint of scent, but I don’t recognize it.”  “Should we bring the bag in?” Lizzie’s father ask
