Her mother was too busy taking care of her father to notice she’d gotten up, so she moved around the corner of the garage and looked around.
Squatting to examine the ground, she noticed a disturbance in the dirt behind the garage. Digging into her pocket, she pulled out her phone and turned the flashlight on. She shined it at the ground and gasped. A footprint had been ground into the dirt!
Quickly looking around, she didn’t see who made the footprint, but she did catch his scent.
“Why would Luke do this?” she whispered as she stared back down at the footprint. “Does it have anything to do with his announcement he made that I’m his mate?”
