 Deon sighed again and said, “I need to think about it.”  Lizzie nodded sadly and said, “I understand. Take all the time you need.”  The bell rang, startling them out of their thoughts.  “Come on,” Deon said, grabbing her hand. “We’ve got to get to homeroom.”  They hurried through the halls, hand in hand, making it to their homeroom just as the tardy bell rang.  The teacher looked up and said, “Made it just in the nick of time. Now, get to your seats.”  They hurried to their desks as the teacher took attendance.
