 “You want me to put you in a force field?” Lizzie asked, swallowing hard.  Her father nodded and braced himself.  “Just pretend like I’m coming toward you, and you need to defend yourself from me,” he told her.   Lizzie nodded and concentrated, pointing her finger toward her father. Nothing happened.   Frowning, Lizzie tried again, pushing her finger toward her father. Once more, nothing.   Looking at her father, she said, “I don’t know why it’s not working.
