Adelaide POV:
I heard the dripping before I could come to full consciousness. It was loud and constant, a kind of sound that could drive you crazy. Except, it was driving me crazy. I peeled open my eyes, they were like the skin of an orange, tough and hard to peel if you lacked the experience and the fingernails. Scratch the last part, but I definitely lacked the experience. I was on a cold and damp floor, I felt the odd cement texture as I tried to sit up, chains rattled, and I noticed my one arm was shackled to a long chain. Panic set in, and I tugged and tugged my arm, trying to free myself from the chain. "Don't worry," came a voice and I froze, "they aren't silver, but they will do the job." I pressed myself against the damp wall, trying to appear calm, "did you really think I would not find out?" My father's voice was mixed with anger and disappointment, and I couldn't tell which was worse. "Father, I-" He raised his hand silencing me. "You are filthy scum of this earth!" He exclaimed quietly, and I lowered my head, ashamed. "So, are you going to kill me?" I asked, "I should, and you should be honored that it is by my hand, rather than another hunter." I sat silently. I did not know what to say or do.
"How did this happen to me?" I asked, and the scar across his face reddened with anger, his hand went to his face, and then he did the most unexpected thing. He unlocked the cell gate and entered, striding towards me so fast that I did not have time to process. He grabbed my arm and pulled me up, pushing me against the wall and closing the space between us. I was breathing hard. "Excited, are we?" He asked as he twirled a strand of my hair around his forefinger and thumb, "I know your kind relish to be in the arms of men in power, or should I say monsters in power?" Something took a hold of me, and I did not even know I was talking until I heard the words that came out of my mouth, "the only monster here is you." The back of his hand struck me hard against my face, splitting my lip. He grabbed my face roughly and brought his close to mine, our noses pressed against each other. And then he did something I could never have expected. He kissed me and pressed his body against mine. I went cold, and froze. His tongue fat and slimy, felt around the insides of my mouth, while his other hand, the one not holding my face in place, traveled down my body, and snaked its way up my shirt. When he pulled away, he was smiling, while my eyes were open wide and my body frozen in place. "You taste sweet," he said licking his lips, "I would love to feel the inside of you, but I know my little girl isn't ready for that yet." There was heavy emphasis on the word 'yet'. I reeled over and violently vomited, coughing as the vomit burned my throat.
"You disgust me," I heaved, and the smile on his face disappeared. "For now," he replied coldly, and then put his hand on the metal bars of the cell, "but I bet, long enough in this hole, will have you begging for me to be around, let alone take you." My mouth salivated again, and I could feel the bile rising to my throat, "never." He smirked, "after all, that is what your kind prefers," he said as he stepped out and dragged the cell gate shut, "to be taken." I made to get towards him in my anger, but the chains held me back. The chain rattled, but didn't let me budge more than three steps in front of me. He smiled in victory as if he had won the war. "I will never be taken and you will never touch me like that again, unless you want to lose your limbs!" I shouted, and he smiled calmly, with a cold glare in his eyes, "we will see about that." He turned and strided away, whistling a tune as I tried to hold it together. Once he had left I yanked at the chains until my wrists were bruised. I slumped to the ground, my vomit not far from me and brought my knees close to my chest and buried my head.
How was I supposed to get out of this? My mind was blank. I looked around the cell, willing myself to think, to see some kind of opening, anything that could help me escape. My father's voice came back to me, "the chains are steel." Wait! If it is steel then I should be able to break out of it. Except there was one problem, I didn't know how to be a wolf...
