Chapter 2 Bereavement

Alone in my room, I heard the maids screaming.

I quickly rushed out of my room, to know the cause of the noise.

What’s going on here? I asked all of them.

Young mistress, check the news.

I quickly unlocked my phone to check, only to see that the number one search was about an accident.

Clicking on it, i saw the headline. Out of shock, I dropped my phone, then screamed painfully.

This can’t be happening, it’s a joke right? I said asking no one in particular.

While crying, I fainted.

The young mistress has fainted, quick, call the family doctor, The head maid said to a maid.

Both of you, carry the young miss to her room.she said to the remaining maids.

The family doctor rushed to the mansion to get to work, after he was called by the maid.

After checking on the young miss, he told the head maid that she fainted due to shock. Then he injected her with sleeping medication to reduce her stress.

The next morning, I woke up seeing my dad standing beside me.

Dad? Where is my mum I asked crying so hard. My dad stood there not trying to console me, only telling me that on my mum’s way to the airport in her car, she was hit by a truck. And that they couldn’t recover her body. I was so pained, he’s acting like his wife didn’t die.

And he also said that my mum’s burial would be held on Friday. After speaking, he left my room.

Sitting on my bed, fresh tears fell from my eyes.

Death, why? Why did you take my mum from me? So unfair.

After crying for sometime, I slept.

On the day of my mum’s burial, I cried like my life depended on it. I saw pity in a lot of eyes, but at this moment, I didn’t care because I am really pitiful.

After the burial, everyone left for their various homes. I didn’t even see my dad, I was left alone, and in pain at the realization that my dad was no where to be found.

It started raining, it was as if the heavens were also mourning the loss of my beloved mother.

Then I saw the family’s bodyguard walking toward me, I knew it was time to go home.

Reaching home, I went straight to my room, taking my mum’s portrait from the table, I lay down on the bed, holding it to my chest, drifting off to dream land.

Opening my eyes to see it’s already morning, I kept my mum’s photo back on the table. Checking the time on my phone, only to see it’s already 11:00am.

I walked sluggishly to the bathroom to have my bath. I was in a very bad shape, and it look’s like I lost weight overnight.

After having my bath, I went downstairs for breakfast, then I realized I didn’t eat anything throughout yesterday.

While eating, my dad came into the house with two strangers . I was wondering who they were and what they were doing here.

Good evening dad, I said.

Hmmm good evening, he said.

“Again ever since my mom left for her business trip, my dad stopped addressing me as his princess, I thought in my mind”.

I looked at my dad, who’s worse than a stranger. He’s acting like he never loved my mum.

Out of anger, I left the dining room for my room, fuming with anger and crying at the same time. Locking my door, I cried hard alone in my room. I lost the most precious person to me.

Honey don’t mind her she’s just too spoiled Mr Davis said to his new wife, then he calmly patted Sophia his second daughter on the head.

Leading them upstairs he showed Sophia her room which was on the third floor. Then he took his new wife to the master bedroom.

It was already 12am in the morning, when Natasha Sonia new step mother sneakily left the master bedroom for her daughter’s room.

The door was opened and she entered quickly.

Inside her daughter’s room, she sat down on the soft bed.

Mum I can’t stand that b***h, who does she think she is? Sooner or later the Davis family money and glory will belong to me.
