The first awakening
It's a cold dark day, I am seated at a corner; head leaned on the wall trying to get up from deep sleep. My face is still sore for a red leprosy my left cheek almost resembles the surface of a strawberry. Still painless. My wrists are sore from shackles, shackles that are rotting with rust, "At least they'll be weak enough one day." I console myself. I am a slave sadly. With no recollection of time. The master walks in, a creature about nine feet tall with an amorphous face. A demon like creature. It bends downwards to make a statement to intimidate. I look up at a face full of smoke phasing into itself, some how I got used to it and it was at the moment not intimidating. Once he was away I ground the shackles till they unlock then make a run out a door. The door let me out to a large garden, familiar with dry nepia grass that had been cut down. The sky is dark, no wind, not life just a plagued country side. Except at a distance is a man pinned down by a being that resembled the slave master. "Get away from him." I shout running towards the pair. His energy was being harvested at least that's what it looked like. My attempt to free the poor guy were useless. Then, as if from a distant memory, an idea rings in my head. I stretch my hand up to the creatures neck and said, "let him go... In Jesus name." The air around us filled with a hysterical laugh then a sudden unexpected choke. The creature floated off Leaving a striking silence. A frail voice called from behind, " You used Jesus's name?" It was a pale looking man limping out of a shrub. " Yes I did, what's wrong?" His weak legs let him down on the ground, "Jesus already came back and he left." For the first time, I felt afraid. "He's been gone for a thousand years, He left here unable to die." It sounded impossible. How could I have missed this. I can't have been a slave for a thousand years. I should be dead.
