As Stella set down the glass of wine on the bar table, she rose from the chair and walked up to meet Nelly.
"Nelly, since you said that you did not steal the diamond necklace from Elena, then you have to allow the maids to search your bag," Stella said, her voice sharp. "If the diamond necklace is found in your bag, you will be flogged 50 strokes of the cane on your back, and if it's not found, I will let you go peacefully."
Stella had a frown on her face, her loud voice seeming to draw the maids working in the mansion.
This made Nelly frown, because she knew that she did not steal Elena's necklace.
Nelly gazed coldly at Stella and replied, "I did not take Elena's necklace. Why would it be in my box? Unless you are the ones who put it in my bag to frame me."
